We rented this condo for 10 days and loved it everything about it was great my kids had the best holiday and everything is close by. The pool was great and there is also a small play park on site. I was so pleased with it that I hope to rent it again next year. It is so clean and tidy and the owner is a lovely friendly lady she was so helpful in every way. Thanks Barbara.

Clean & Comfortable Condo

Very clean and comfortable condo with nicely landscaped common areas in a very picturesque mountain setting. Just a few blocks from Mountain Creek ski area and water park, but not so close that you hear any noise. Gated access for additional privacy. My wife and I enjoyed a relaxing 4 night stay here in July. We’re retired so weren’t interested in the water park preferring a visit to historic Ringwood Manor and the beautiful NJ Botanical Gardens. We also spent several days hiking, biking, swimming, and canoeing in Wawayanda State Park. Barbara was a very pleasant and accommodating person to deal with. The rental rate was very competitive with other lodging options in the area.

Recommended for:Romantic getaway, sightseeing, age 55+, families with young children.

Think Twice

First, we were surprised to arrive at a destination NOT on the mountain. You need to drive to the mountain -not walking distance. From the outside, the place is very well kept. We step inside to get settled and there are no lights in the kitchen or eating area -- literally no light bulbs in any of the fixtures. As we progressed through our stay, we found no soap of any type, dishes, hands, shower, etc. For our two nights, three day stay, there were only 2 towels. We found all the dishes still in the dishwasher from the previous renters and the mattress on the pull out coach was totally unacceptable. I sent an email to the owners while we were there mentioning these noted items, but still after 3 days, have not heard back. I guess you get what you pay for!!

Owner response:I never promised a unit on the mountain. The rate would have been at least double. There were two light bulbs out. We were unaware as we had a month-long renter in the unit previously. There are four complete sets of towels in the unit and there is hand soap available as noted on the contract. This renter vented to my cleaning company and I did not feel she needed a further response. Please read all reviews to see what a value and nice unit that other renters have experienced!

This is a very nice unit with great views and access to North Jersey and New York City. Dining and golf resorts are within 10 miles of this unit. We enjoyed our stay. We would rental this unit again.

Our weekend at Black Creek Sanctuary was excellent. Barbara, the owner, was very accomadating and the condo was perfect. Clean, cozy and in a perfect location for getting to Mountain Creek. With two teenage boys, we could not have asked for a better situation. The condo was very roomy, well maintained and very relaxing. We all enjoyed the hot tub and the serenity of the complex.

Barbara, the owner was a very nice person to deal with. Our family of three with a small child had a wonderful and relaxing time at Black Creek Sanctuary. The nicely furnished condo was just the right size for us. The nature walk through the small areas of wet lands inside the gated community was refreshing. Although the outdoor pool wasn't open during our stay (open only on the weekends during off peak), the heated outdoor hot tub was fun. We used the nearby Sussex County YMCA pool ($20 per family, daily) for swimming. Our overall experience at Black Creek Sanctuary was very good. We hope to come back next time perhaps for a longer stay.

This is a lovely unit--very clean and cozy. Pros included free internet, fire place, large bathroom, and great pool and hot tub just steps from the condo. Unit can fit 4, but I would recommend keeping it to 2-3 (unless some members of your group are children).
