The Unique Benefits of this House
The private beach that you have access to on your own easeman directly across from your front door is breathtaking. It is the longest walking beach on the Peconic Bay. It is also a sandy beach that is about 30 feet deep in low tide. Not many beaches on Peconic Bay have this much sand. Our tenants often say that they were the only ones on the beach during their stay at our house. The house is perfectly appointed and very clean. We have never had anyone complain about any detail of the accomodations. People love having my husband and I across the street to help them with restaurants and local vineyards.

I have always wanted to enjoy a perfect summer home with my family and we have gone to N.C., Florida, Virginia, but none of those vacations can compare to the one here at this home. We spent two incredible weeks 7-16 to 7-31/11. Everything went as I have always dreamed it would. I felt that I was far away from my own home on L.I., yet, we were only 45 minutes from our door. So convenient for my 3 children who were able to come out with their families. We have 5 grandchildren. Triplets -16 months, a baby 13 months, and a 4 year old. So if you need a place to go with little ones, this is it. Spacious livingroom area, so much so, that we even set up a small pup tent for the kids to play in. They loved it. Large table for dining as well as a kitchen table. We were able to celebrate my grandson Paulie 5th birthday. Kitchen and prep areas great. Bedrooms are so spacious and comfortable. Each fit a family with all the port-a-cribs and still had plenty of room to walk around in it. Everything is clean, new, comfortable; a true feeling of being at home. Yard is large with great grill, table and chairs. The weather was incredibly cool feeling although we knew there was above normal record breaking hot temps. You didn't feel it with the bay breezes and water to jump right into. Beach is perfect. Another great feature is that you don't need to walk far to the beach and drag everything down . It's truly just a steps away from the house. Just walk down with the babies, umbrella, a few chairs, and that's it. Back and forth for food is no problem. Water is clean and perfect for small children. The wineries, splish-splash, farms, aquarium are so close to visit and all to enjoy. Grandma even won a corn on the cob eating contest at one of the local farms. Grandkids loved it. I would not do this interview justice without mentioning the owners. Pat and Mary are the most accomodating folks. They were kind, hospitable, and made you feel like family. Mike & I are happy to consider them so. I had extended family come in/out all the time from Maryland, Florida, NJ and each group also agreed this is a heavenly spot. Pat & Mary made them feel so welcome. Boating, cocktails, and great conversation with them and family was the added bonus for this perfect vacation. I can't thank them enough. God willing, I will be spending many, many years here creating more memories with old friends, family, and our new friends Pat & Mary. Thank you both so much....

Perfect Beach House

We stayed at this house July of 2011 and had a beautiful experience! The water is calm and sandy with very few rocks. The beach is long and filled with sea glass and shells. The house itself was perfect for our family with 3 bedrooms and a large livingroom we were never on top of each other (which you can be at some beach cottages). The path to the beach is directly in front of this house which made it ideal for us with young children, they could run down to the beach ahead of us or run back up to use the bathroom or to relax in the spacious backyard, we could see them from the beach to the front door of the house. The lane, the beach, the house (with its beautiful decor) and the hosts really made this a house we would consider coming back to each year!

What a GREAT house in a GREAT location! The open floor plan was perfect for our family and the location is minutes from great spots such as Mattituck, Greenport and the many Long Island vinyards! The beach is literally steps from the house! We enjoyed the quiet of the private beach everyday of our stay. All the comforts of home, away from home!

For vacation this year, we wanted to visit New York City but still didn't want to miss our annual time at the beach. By chance, we found this spot and we were more than pleased. It's hard to believe that we were just 1 1/2 hours from the city and we had almost 2 miles of beach to ourselves. Peak season and I bet we didn't see a total of 15 people on the beach all week!! The house is great and suited us perfectly. The owners have another house just across the street and were the best host and neighbors. They made sure that we had everything to make our stay perfect. The water is clear and usually still if there is no wind. You can watch the crabs sneak up and nibble on your toes. Be sure to go out to the beach after dark to look for the Comb Jellies (we Googled them) that float in the water and flash like lightning bugs. There are roadside farmers markets and vinyards everywhere so we ate at home every meal and enjoyed the fresh vegetables and wine, so I can't tell you about the restaurants. Movie theater is just 20 minutes away. TV and internet worked great. We really recommend this home for your vacation. I bet it would be great in the colder months too.

We rented the house for Labor Day weekend and loved it! The house is fantastic - open, spacious and very well equipped. We enjoyed cooking in the open plan kitchen and sitting at the breakfast bar for wine & nibbles once the children were in bed. The outdoor grill was perfect. The house is literally steps from the beach, which can be seen from the front window. The beach was great for our 2.5 year old, the water calm and clear and the beach itself quiet. The owners were absolutely wonderful throughout the whole of our stay. They were on hand to help with any questions and are so welcoming you really do feel like you are part of their family. We even had deliveries of organic basil and tomatoes - delicious. A boat trip was the 'icing on the cake' for my husband. We would absolutely recommend this rental to others.

Our late June stay in this roomy home could not have been better. The bay beach is truly steps away and lovely, with calm water and fresh breezes. The property is well maintained and well equipped. The furnishings are comfortable and attractive. The surrounding area has farm stands, great restaurants, shopping--from boutique to antique to outlet--and even more beaches if you like to explore. The area is also bike friendly. Best of all, our hosts were gracious and welcoming, generous with their time and with recommendations. We would definitely return!

We rented this house in the first week of September and brought home wonderful memories. The house is spacious and recently renovated. The kitchen is equipped beyond any expectations. Everything is really close – aquarium, Water Park, wineries. Ocean is just 32 steps away from the house. Water is warm and calm – kids enjoyed swimming and sea life exploring. The sunsets are picturesque out there. And owners are wonderful people – we’ve been treated like family members! Looking forward to return there next year!
Owner response:I can't express enough how much we enjoyed having you, your friends and your children. Your children were a joy and we would love to have you all visit us on the North Fork next summer. Have a great year...

What a wonderful surprise for my family. The house is beautiful inside with plenty of rooms for the children. We grilled on the superb grill out back and dined al fresco every night after the beach. The neighbors were friendly and helpful. The neighborhood is quiet and the beach is practically private. No more than 50 feet from the house the beach is beautiful with lots of sea life to explore with the kids. The towns around the house are dotted with some of the best produce stands and a pie store unequaled in apricot pies. Go to the aquarium in Riverhead, a short distance from the house and worth the trip and cost. Take the kids to Snowflake for the best ice cream in the area. One of the best times we have had at the beach.
Owner response:Thanks Chris. Hope to have you again.

This is a terrific family house. We rented it the first week of September, and had the beach basically to ourselves. The beach is easily reached from the house on a short little path (you can see the water from the front door). The interiors were very nicely and cleanly done -- light and uncluttered. (Supervise toddlers on the stairs though.) The kitchen was REALLY well provisioned -- we've rented houses that have not had that much in the kitchen, and I cook a lot, but this kitchen had it all. The owners are very nice and helpful, and live across the street -- they would come right over whenever we had a question.
