A charming 1920s country farmhouse, which has been completely updated, awaits your arrival. The farmhouse is located on a 25-acre farm with spectacular views of the Cascade Mountains. Willamette Valley Vineyards, Salem, and Willamette University are all just minutes away. Silver Falls State Park, the Oregon Garden, and numerous wineries are within 30 minutes. The cottage is located near the Silver Falls Scenic Tour Route and directly on a favorite Willamette Valley bicycle tour route.
There is a spacious front porch perfect for relaxing, reading, bird watching, or enjoying a taste from the day’s winery tours. Upstairs, relax in the master bedroom suite with Cascade Range mountain views. The newly remodeled country kitchen also includes a new gourmet gas range and oven. Stay fit in the exercise/cardio room equipped with a Schwinn Airdyne bicycle. Summer evenings, watch for the deer family that passes through the acreage on the top of the hill. Enjoy the apples from the apple orchard, and grapes from the grapevines on the property when in season. Explore the 125-year-old pioneer cemetery that borders the property.

The Unique Benefits of this Farmhouse
This house and property have been in our family for 3 generations – first bought by my grandparents in the 30’s, then owned by my parents, now owned by us. We have just recently completed a 3-years-long remodel of the home, keeping as much of the original architecture intact as possible. Many of the interior walls are still lath and plaster. This house was a Sears and Roebuck kit home – these were popular home kits from the turn of the century through the 40’s. These kit homes can be found online at www.searsarchives.com/homes. So far, we have not yet been able to exactly identify our home’s plan and name, but you can see many of these identifying architectural features in our home. As you walk through our country home -look for these features!
And, the remodel continues! As we have time, the next project is a rebuild of the old red brick garage my grandfather built in the 50’s. The upper backyard area is also a work-in-progress – that project will be complete by summer 2010.
