Wine Country Cottage
The Unique Benefits at this Farmhouse
This house and property have been in our family for 3 generations – first bought by my grandparents in the 30’s, then owned by my parents, now owned by us. We have just recently completed a 3-years-long remodel of the home, keeping as much of the original architecture intact as possible. Many of the interior walls are still lath and plaster. This house was a Sears and Roebuck kit home – these were popular home kits from the turn of the century through the 40’s. So far, we have not yet been able to exactly identify our home’s plan and name, but you can see many of these identifying architectural features in our home. As you walk through our country home -look for these features!
And, the remodel continues! As we have time, the next project is a rebuild of the old red brick garage my grandfather built in the 50’s. Also, the upper backyard area is still a works-in-progress.

This was our 3rd visit to Oregon since our daughter moved to Salem, and our 2nd week stay at this cozy wine cottage. You feel welcomed and at home from the first time you unlock the door. The home is very well equipped and comfortable with many ammenities. We enjoyed a family Holiday dinner then shared the fruits of the Willamette Vineyards after dinner with a starlit sky and the Cascade Mountains as a back drop. It is as incredible as it sounds, thank you Marilyn and John, I hope that your home is available each and every time we visit Oregon.
Recommended for:Romantic getaway, adventure seekers, age 55+, sightseeing.

Just returned from a month in this beautiful place and we are homesick for this lovely little house. It was just the right choice for our family to get together for some memorable family time. Location was great for trips to the ocean, city and all sorts of outdoor activities. Beautifully maintained property! 1

We rented the home for our family when in Salem for a Willamette graduation. We had a wonderful picnic out on the lawn, relaxing evenings indoors and a great time. We were surprised how much was provided in terms of the kitchen -like a blender, a toaster, etc-not just the basics. It made it easy to just arrive and enjoy.

Very nice and clean with some wonderful little touches. A few goodies in the fridge helped since we arrived late in the evening and didn't have to worry about breakfast. I would definitely recommend it to others and I'd stay here again if the opportunity arose.
