For small day-use retreats and weddings or 5-7 bedrooms for retreats, reunions, family vacations, hunting groups. Secluded, tranquil, easy access. Beautifully maintained, flowered grounds surrounded by forest, with large modest house, gazebo/hot tub. Also three private mini-parks on ten acres, each within a 30-second stroll from the main house, for private conversation or meditation. Walk out the back door to 1,000 miles of hiking and single-track trails in a million acres of national forest.
Executive conference room seats 10-12 with great forest views, plus two more meeting rooms for 6 and 12. Wireless Internet throughout. Three large decks for isolated conversations by day or to greet turkeys and deer who come around to visit mornings and evenings.
This is the full time residence of the owners when it is not rented. The owners will work with you to set up the building just the way you need it, turnkey and ready when you arrive. The house comes with many maps and books about Black Hills activities, history, geology, plants and animals, old railroads and ghost towns. After your reservation the owners can even help you research and plan your next outing to the Black Hills.
One mile off I-90. Close to Rapid City, Deadwood and Sturgis. “In the middle of Black Hills attractions,” half way between Spearfish and Mt. Rushmore. Ten minutes to grocery store, motels, service station/C-store, full-hookup camp sites, full service camper/motor-home repair and parts, authentic Western restaurants (i.e., “where the locals go”), and photography studio.
International visitors are especially welcome (French and German on site, plus other languages by prior arrangement). Parking for 10 cars. - Private Hot Tub: That hot tub in the enclosed gazebo is fantastic on chilly winter nights. You can close the gazebo to winter winds, or open all four sides to gaze at the moon (or howl at it), watch for deer and wildlife watching for you, and forget The World you left out there.

- No Pets Allowed: Bring any pet you can coax in to a car, truck or trailer. But it must stay outside and it must make itself known to us at the time of the reservation. Absolutely no pets of any kind in the house at any time, please.
- Kid Friendly: The internal furnishings are fine. But no kidding, the Black Hills Retreat will keep your kids delighted until they are old enough to vote.
- Smoking Not Allowed: No smoking in the house. NO OPEN FIRES please. Most of the year, we must be extremely cautious with any form of fire in the forest.
