Step onto the sand from the ocean-facing patio of this two bedroom condo. Located just ten miles south of Santa Barbara, California in the popular resort town of Carpinteria. Sheltered by the Santa Barbara Channel Islands this beach offers lots of white sand and gentle surf. The beach offers safe swimming, sand castle building, surf fishing, clamming, sea shell collecting, and long walks to view sea lions lounging on rocks and dolphins playing beyond the surf.
The town of Carpiteria (Carp to the locals) was founded in 1863 and is noted for its friendliness, small town charm, as well as the agricultural production of avocados, lemons, and flowers. The downtown area is within easy walking distance of the beach and offers a variety of antique, clothing, and a movie theater. Points of interest include historical museum, the worlds largest Tory Pine, the Carp tar pits where the Chumash built their canoes as well as the famous "cook your own steak" Palms Restaurant and a community swimming pool.
Excellent surfing is five minutes away by car. Small boats can be launched off the beach to access ocean fishing. Nearby Santa Barbara offers charter boats for deep sea fishing, scuba diving, or simply viewing the coastline. The airport is 30 minutes away in Santa Barbara and the Amtrak train makes several stops daily in Carp. Master bedroom has king bed while guest has twins made up as king but can be seperated. If you are adventurous try the outdoor shower down your back stairs. |
