We had the absolute pleasure of staying at this place while we transitioned into the Santa Cruz area from Los Angeles. Amy and Dave and this adorable house and area were the first exposure we had to Santa Cruz. I am not sure if we would of transitioned into living in this beach community so well if it was not for our stay here and for Amy and Dave who made it so easy. The house is just lovely. Quiet, safe neighborhood and of course opening up the double french doors to listen to the waves makes your day just that much more peaceful. The house is fully stocked with everything you could possibly need and high quality at that - cups/towels/pots/pans/silverware/etc. Since we lived there for so long we did some major cooking and used most all of the appliances. Every time I thought "oh I might have to go buy a strainer/coffee pot/toaster" sure enough - it was all there already for me! We felt so spoiled to be living in such a place. Our dog absolutely loved the yard too, it is perfect for just chilling on the deck or playing with your pooch in the yard which we did quite often. It is very quiet at night and the neighbors are all respectful of one another as well. Quick walk to the beach which is just perfect. We cannot say enough about Beachbreak Bungalow and I am confident as we transition into our permanent living place we will carry so many fond memories of Beachbreak Bungalow with us as we drive by often and sniff a little missing this little gem of a place....Recommended for: Families with teenagers, age 55+, pet owners, romantic getaway, girls getaway, families with young children.

This place and the owners are TOPS! Super Great retreat nestled in a nice neighborhood and just a short walk to the beach. Relax to the rhythms of the waves and fragrance of the eucalyptus. Our dog gives the yard all-paws-up! The back yard has a fantastic flower garden and singing birds. The Best!!!!Recommended for: Tourists without a car, families with teenagers, age 55+, pet owners, romantic getaway, girls getaway, sightseeing.

We were in Santa Cruz in December for an anniversary party downtown and stayed at the Beach Break Bungalow. This house was perfect! The beds were super comfortable, the furnishings were high quality, and the yard was huge. The kitchen was equipped with everything we needed; they even had toddler cups. The location was great; far enough away from the noise of downtown, but close enough to easily walk to the beach and a short drive to many great restaurants and downtown Santa Cruz. The owners even prepared a great book with restaurant recommendations. We found this very helpful and their recommendations were spot on. And because we have two little kids, we really appreciated that they had a washer and dryer (they looked brand new) for guests to use. Amy, the owner we talked to, was also really easy to work with. We're glad we found this gem. We'll definitely be back.Recommended for: Tourists without a car, families with teenagers, adventure seekers, age 55+, romantic getaway, girls getaway, sightseeing, families with young children.

My family has stayed many times in this cozy vacation home. We love the patio, fireplace, and firepit. We love the walk along the creek and eucalyptus grove to the dog friendly beach. And my personal favorite is the luxury bedding...far better quality than most rental house bedding. It has a good vibe that keeps us coming back!Recommended for: Tourists without a car, age 55+, pet owners, romantic getaway, girls getaway, sightseeing, families with young children.

Wow! We sure had fun. I would definitely recommend this home for anyone wanting to visit the Santa Cruz area. It's just a short walk to the beach on a path and a short walk to Capitola and it's in a great, quiet, safe neighborhood. The house was clean and well stocked. The beds were very comfortable, which makes for a great sleep. We didn't get to use the backyard (it's was a little chilly in January) but it looked beautiful and the back deck would be a great place for a BBQ. We met some neat people in the area - I love that hippie surfer vibe. The owners are great too - very responsive. I would not hesitate to recommend this place to anyone looking for anything from a quiet retreat to a surf and swim weekend. I'd love to come back myself!Recommended for: Tourists without a car, families with teenagers, adventure seekers, romantic getaway, girls getaway, sightseeing, people with disabilities, families with young children.

My husband and I brought our two girls to the Bungalow for a week during Summer vacation. The home was absolutely perfect!! It has a wonderful layout - which is cozy yet open and spacious. And the best part of all was the gorgeous backyard....we spent many evenings sitting on the deck enjoying the charming garden with its beautiful Mediterranean feel. The outdoor shower was awesome for sandy kids and wetsuits, and there was ample space for bikes, skim boards, boogie boards, etc. All in all a perfect get-a-way for our family.Recommended for: Families with teenagers, adventure seekers, pet owners, romantic getaway, girls getaway, families with young children.

My husband and I spent a long May weekend at Beachbreak Bungalow and enjoyed every moment! It was my husband's 50th birthday, so we were looking for something special and Beachbreak Bungalow fit the bill. The property is in a perfect location; close to the beach (a short walk), Capitola and all the major sites around Santa Cruz. We did quite a bit of biking and enjoyed biking into Capitola for breakfast each morning. We also biked into Santa Cruz, all very easy and fun! If you want to travel farther, the freeway is close enough. The property was spotless and very well maintained and the owners so easy to work with. But the best part is how quiet and serene it was, the perfect place to spend a special day!Recommended for: Tourists without a car, adventure seekers, age 55+, romantic getaway, girls getaway, sightseeing.

I was lucky enough to stay at the Beachbreak Bungalow for three months and couldn't have had a more amazing experience. Beautifully decorated, plenty of space, great furnishings, and a location easily suited for a quick walk to the beach. The beds and linens are fabulous- had a dog sitter stay overnight and she said it was the most comfortable bed she'd ever slept in! The deck and back yard are huge and the house is stocked with anything you could ever need. The landlords, Dave and Amy, are great, too. I had trouble with the internet one day and they were willing to come over that day to try and fix the problem. You'll have a tough time finding any place better than the Beachbreak BungalowRecommended for: Families with teenagers, adventure seekers, age 55+, pet owners, romantic getaway, girls getaway, sightseeing, people with disabilities, families with young children.
