we stayed here for 4 nights and our encounters with the owner were great- she was nice and helpful when we were setting things up. upon our arrival we ran into several issues which we took in stride and thought 'oh well it's okay' but by the end of our stay they all added up to make us feel like we had not gotten what we had signed up and paid for. the issues we ran into are listed below: 1) upon arrival there was very little toilet paper and no paper towels (there was enough TP in one bathroom for 3 people to use once). as a result we had to go out and buy new TP and paper towels early the morning after we arrived (so that people could use the bathroom!) 2) the place was not super clean and the coffee maker had old grinds in it that were pretty gross 3) the downstairs bedroom is NOT a full bedroom. it is teeny tiny and not adequate even for kids (our kids were creeped out about sleeping downstairs in the small, smelly room). on top of that it was moldy and i think it is because the garage is right next to it (a door exits from this room to the garage). i would not advertised this place as a 3 bedroom at all. it does not have a full 3rd bedroom- and it's not even usable for people who are sensitive to mold. 4) there is a place on the front part of the property (not in front of the ocean) that the owner rents out to tenants. it is not advertised that someone else is living right there, sharing the teeny tiny driveway and also sharing the garage (so you have to look the inside door to house if you don't want the other person having access to your home and belongings). for people to whom this matters- this info is important to be aware of. 5) the maintenance on the place is not upkept so a lot of things were run down, unkempt (like the bikes, the lounge chairs on the front deck, etc...) all in all we were okay being in the house but because none of this was disclosed up front and/or were not taken care of we were bummed out at the end- realizing that had we known all of this up front we would have either negotiated a cheaper rate or we would have gotten another rental. i hope this information helps the owner make some changes and also helps people who want to rent the place know what they are looking at.

Owner response: Hello, I am disappointed by the review posted on my house it does state in my listing that the driveway and garage are shared. I did offer to bring paper goods to the tenant or if she would like I would give her a credit for the inconvenient ; she did choose to take the credit I am truly sorry. I did use a new cleaning person and obviously I will not be using them again. I guarantee I will be keep a closer eye on the house and not let someone be inconvenience with any of the paper or Coffee maker issue . I do tell people that the 3rd bedroom is small it does have a queen-size bed in the room but, there is not a lot of room in that bedroom and it does open to the garage. It is disappointing about the bikes, I don't advertise I have the bikes there because they are just there for my connivance. The tenants can use them but, they are not in perfect condition, the ocean seems to do a number on the bikes when they are kept there no matter how new they are. I did buy a new sofa loveseat, chair and coffee tables for the deck. The lounge chairs have been replaced. I have addressed all the issues on this tenants concerns and hope more people will come enjoy my home in the future.
This was our first stay at this property, with five adults and a two-year old in town to visit the family of the third child. Raquel is accommodating and very easy to work with. The open view from the front windows is really impressive, offering views of the ocean, surfers and sunsets. All very relaxing. If the weather's warm and the breezes calm, there's a large deck in front for grilling, getting some sun, or just hanging out. The deck is accessible from the great room through a sliding door on the south side, but some might want to be aware that there are fifteen steps from the parking drive to the home's entry door, and ramps are used to access the front deck from the north side of the home. The property is clean, and there was a surprisingly large collection of toys and games for the young one. Access to the beach is15 houses North of this property, and 117 steps down. Also true to the photo display is the lack of roominess in the angular third bedroom, with space for little more than a queen size bed, a small closet and aisle space at the foot and along the right side. Laundry facilities are located in the adjacent garage, and can be accessed through the third bedroom. The upstairs bedrooms are much larger and more comfortable. WiFi access was quite important to our group, who still are involved in their business even while on vacation, and we had clear and fast connections throughout the house. The kids and parents had great fun at a newly renovated playground at Moonlight Beach (Encinitas Blvd/B Street, west of coast Hwy 101... search 'images' at "Moonlight Beach playground" ), and also at Cottonwood Creek Park on N. Vulcan Ave., north of Encinitas Blvd. Overall, this property met our needs for the visit, and we would consider it again on a future occasion.

This is a beautiful place to stay, very quiet with a super ocean front view. The kitchen was spotless, which is important. Raquel was easy to work with and I would recommend this place as a tremendous value, being as it's ocean front. So much better than a hotel.

Outstanding beach house!
Outstanding beach house!
Beautiful, clean, nicely furnished beach house. Perfect deck for nightly cookouts, beautiful ocean views, and great sunsets. Nice kitchen with added features of a large island and granite countertops. Loved the large picture windows across the front of the house giving us perfect ocean views from the living room and kitchen table area. We had an awesome week, would return again next year, and would recommend this house to others.
