We stayed at this condo in August of 2012. It was a great experience! The condo is nicely furnished and provided just the right space for our family of 4. It was well maintained and clean. It was also very quiet and peaceful. The pool was a big hit with our teeanage children. One of our favorite things was sitting in the swing on the dock and watching the sunset. The walk to the beach is not bad. However if you have small kids and many things to take, you will need a wagon. Everything is within walking distance which is very good, Parking in Folly Beach is almost nonexistant. Our favorite restaurants were Lost Dog Cafe, Taco Boy and Tokyo Crepes. We ate at all 3 at least 2 times. Charleston is a short drive away. We would definitely stay here again!Recommended for: Romantic getaway, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, sightseeing.

My wife and I along with another couple stayed at Turtle Bay and we had a wonderful time... the condo is somewhat basic but clean which met out needs...the pool area is small but with very little activity this time of year and we used it for a couple of hours one day of our four day stay...the dock is located beyond the pool and provided a great venue for viewing the sunsets, we took a picnic and cooler out to the cabana around 7:00pm and had our own happy hour each day (million dollar view). The condo is located off the beaten path on the Folly River but was only six beautiful block from the ocean (about a 10 minute walk under live oaks) and five blocks to the center of town. We parked the car and walked most of the time throughout our stay. There are bars, restaurants and tourist venues in town and we quickly found a couple of goods spots for happy hour, lunch and dinner. We are now regulars at Rita’s. Regarding the unit - All the appliances and amenities worked well in the unit and we did not have any issues during out stay. The owner is very easy to work with and was very accommodating with a request for a late check-out since on one was coming in behind us the following day. The only negative that I can say is you need to be aware that the unit backs up to a parking lot that is shared with another property, so the screen porch can get noisy at times. I would recommend this to travelers who do not need a beach front property and loves a leisurely vacation.Recommended for: Tourists without a car, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway.

My family stayed in this townhouse June 2012. I found the townhouse to be very clean and the owner to be very reliable. The owner was very quick to respond to my messages and we did not encounter any problems during our stay. The location is great for Folley Beach and downtown Charleston. The townhouse was spacious and furnished with beach decor throughout. Some of our family stayed in another townhouse nearby, per my seven year old; our townhouse was better. I really enjoyed having the garage, access to the garage door opener, there were several extra door/pool keys available, and bikes in the garage. I plan to recommend this townhouse to family and friends; as well as; rent again myself in the future.Recommended for: Romantic getaway, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, sightseeing.

My family and I stayed at this condo last week and found it to be very clean and well equipped. I was concerned with the past reviews. So, I called the owner to see if he had addressed these issues. Since the last review, it has been painted, some furniture replaced, a new cleaning crew, and the garbage disposal replaced (was causing a bad odor in the kitchen), mattresses replaced, and all maintenance work done. Turtle Bay is in a great location and it was nice to go out to the gazebo with drinks to watch the sunset over the Folly river. The bikes in the garage came in handy. We were able to cover a lot of Folly on bikes and we also rented a golf cart which we were able to park anywhere. I highly recommend this condo for a family vacation. The price is right!Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, tourists without a car, pet owners, romantic getaway, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, sightseeing.

I waited to post my review in hopes that the owner of this condo would refund our money and make the matter right. He has failed to do so. I hope that no other family finds themselves in the same position as we were in. We arrived to the rental after driving 5 1/2 hours with two small children to find that it was not unlocked like he had previously informed me it would be. We tried calling twice and left messages. Luckily a kind gentleman gave me a number for another condo owner and she was able to give me the entry code. Upon opening the door I was hit with a strong aroma from the house. It smelled of old garbage. Then when I stepped inside I started noticing that the whole unit was dirty. There were crumbs on the floor, the stairs had piles of dirt and dust in the corners, the ceiling fan was caked in dust, the door jam on the sliding glass door was filthy with dirt and sand. There was sand on the coffee table, the floor in the kitchen was sticky, the walls were dirty and scattered with scuff marks, there were spider webs on the house plants, and the couch and chair were dingy and worn. The bathrooms were terrible too, the shower curtains were moldy and need to be replaced, there was a nearly empty roll of toilet paper in the bathroom. Then I traveled upstairs where I found a large amount of dirt and dust under the master bed, it was disgusting. I don't think it had been cleaned all year. There was a grape cluster stem by the fan on the floor, food crumbs on the floor, a plastic tag that came off of clothing or something, dirt all along the baseboards, the door to the laundry facilities was off and just leaning on a machine, the bed linens were dirty. There were loose cords lying on the floor, so unsafe for my two young children. We left right away and wound up staying in a hotel for our entire trip. I called and called the owner, he did not return one phone call or one email and still has not to this day. I really don't understand how someone could do this and not try and make it right. He has our money and we are prepared to fight for it. I have pictures that would make your skin crawl. I hope that he is held accountable for this and that VRBO has high enough standards to not list for people like this on their site.Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 23/23
