This charming apartment is the entire 3rd floor of an historic row house in the dynamic neighborhood of Columbia Heights.
It is separate and private with a door at the bottom of the stairs, but the entry is through the main house where I live. You may come and go as you please. I have a dog and two cats, but the animals never go into the apt. I'm a writer & work at home.
Located about 1.5 miles due north of the White House and only HALF-BLOCK from Columbia Heights METRO station, (Yellow/Green line) it is only ten minutes to most tourist sites - Smithsonian museums, US Capitol, National Theater, Convention Center, Zoo, Rock Creek Park.
Within 2 blocks you will find many restaurants and cafes, a wine shop, Starbucks, a Grocery Store and CVS drugstore.
The vibrant nightlife & restaurants of Adams Morgan, Dupont Circle, Mount Pleasant & U st. are an easy 15-20 minute walk, or one subway stop away.
Just three more stops along (no need to change trains) is the bustling Gallery Place/Chinatown neighborhood, with the MCI arena, American Art Museum, Spy museum, dozens of shops and restaurants, a 14 screen movie theater, even a bowling alley!
The apartment has one bedroom with queen sized bed, a full bathroom and a separate living room with a comfy queen-sized sofa bed. There are 2 TVs, cable, DVD & VCR and wireless internet.
In the living room there is a kitchenette with refrigerator, microwave, toaster, coffee maker etc. - everything you need to prepare light meals. You have use of washer/dryer on 2nd floor.
Sorry, because of the stairs I don't take children between crawling and about age 6. Older children are welcome. There is one aerobed available, making it possible for 3 children to share the living room.
Off street parking is available.
Please give me a sentence or two about yourself in your reply.
The photo of the street scene is taken from my front gate, and you can see the metro station at the end of the block! |
