KEYLESS ENTRY SYSTEM: (FOR FIRST ENTRY & AVAILABLE FOR SUBSEQUENT ENTRIES)
The Owners issue IN WRITING to each Guest party a 6-DIGIT NUMERIC ACCESS CODE to enter on the door-mounted ELECTRONIC KEYPAD to unlock the front door FROM THE OUTSIDE. Each time the 6-DIGIT NUMERIC ACCESS CODE is entered, the front door lock unlocks for 15 SECONDS and then automatically relocks itself. The 6-digit numeric access code is VALID throughout the ENTIRE DURATION of the Guest party's Stay and can be entered on the electronic keypad to unlock the front door lock from the outside an UNLIMITED number of times.
STANDARD KEYED ENTRY SYSTEM: (AVAILABLE FOR SECOND & SUBSEQUENT ENTRIES)
Once inside the Unit, the Guest party finds PHYSICAL keys to the Unit and to the Pool Area. The front door lock can be unlocked from the outside by a PHYSICAL KEY TO THE UNIT in the ordinary familiar way. In other words, after the FIRST ENTRY, each SUBSEQUENT unlocking of the front door lock from the outside by the Guest party MAY (at the Guest party's elective) be accomplished EITHER by its use of: (1) PHYSICAL KEY, OR (2) 6-DIGIT NUMERIC ACCESS CODE.
This Unit (Hale Ono Loa 415) is on the top floor of the South Wing and centrally located in the overall large-scale architectural scheme, and with this location (Location, LOCATION!) come many desirable characteristics for vacationers (some of which are discussed herein) that naturally timelessly persist in perpetuity enduring totally uninfluenced by anything anybody has done, does, or can do. Beyond this intrinsic relative quality of the space and in COMMENSURATION therewith, the Owners further enhanced and perfected their Unit by completely refurbishing all aspects of the interior, thereby providing every improvement, modernization, luxury, facility, appliance, and capability their hearts desired. Thus, this Unit NOT ONLY has inherent rare quality based upon its location, BUT ALSO has: (a) a SUMPTUOUS DELUXE REAL INTERIOR with exquisite design, construction, and craftsmanship, and (b) a rich comprehensive set of high quality appointments, furnishings, and amenities.
FULL-SIZED REFRIGERATOR / FREEZER / AUTOMATIC ICEMAKER
Refrigerator cools its contents to just the right temperature (slightly above water's freezing point) and then maintains that perfect temperature; Freezer cools its contents to a very cold freezing temperature (significantly below water's freezing point); and Automatic Icemaker produces a never-ending supply of fresh, easily-accessible, very cold ice.

It has come to our attention that some persons (hereinafter the 'Refrigerator Defamers' or simply the 'RD') have published (either orally or in writing) to other third persons their factually untrue (false) TESTIMONY that our refrigerator was at some time in the past 'broken'. Any of the Refrigerator Defamers whose factually false testimony is based upon their own personal examination of the REAL evidence (in this case the actual refrigerator itself) are hereinafter referred to as the 'RD Accusers'. Those Refrigerator Defamers whose factually false testimony is NOT based upon their own personal examination of the refrigerator itself are hereinafter referred to as the 'RD Hearsayers', because their factually false testimony is either hearsay itself, materially derived from hearsay, and/or hearsay on hearsay (double hearsay or triple hearsay, for example, such as 'heard it from a friend who heard it from a friend who heard it from another').
Another group of persons (hereinafter the 'Refrigerator Confirmers' or simply the 'RC') numbering perhaps more than several hundred times that of the number of RD Accusers, have successfully operated and/or personally examined the refrigerator and found it to be in perfect working order during all times of their observation.
Since all of the Refrigerator Defamers (both RD Accusers and RD Hearsayers) have published defamatory LANGUAGE, in our humble opinion we think that they SHOULD have been reasonably certain as to the truth of their defamatory statements; thus, they should have believed that there was a very high probability that their defamatory statements were true when they made them (in part because their credibility is ultimately at stake, but also for other reasons). Since the above-identified defamatory statements turned out to be FALSE, based upon OUR DATA about the Refrigerator Defamers' track records it is MUCH MORE LIKELY (a) that all of the Refrigerator Defamers defamatory statements concerning ANYONE OR ANYTHING are not credible in general (very LOW probability that any given one of their defamatory statements is true) than (b) that this instance was randomly the only time (or one of very few times) that they were wrong BUT that they have been consistently right in their defamations a very large number of other times.
Thus, unless you (the traveler) are interested in and can find credible verification as to the truth of a very large number of other defamatory statements (without finding very many other later-determined-to-be-false statements) coming from the Refrigerator Defamers, we recommend that travelers should:
(1) regarding the RD Accusers, disregard entirely as UNRELIABLE and/or untrustworthy ANY direct defamatory opinion (about anyone or anything) of any of the RD Accusers (such as any defamatory finding purported to be his or her own 'expert' or 'lay person' finding based upon his or her own examination of any REAL evidence); and
(2) regarding the RD Hearsayers, disregard entirely as UNTRUSTWORTHY and/or unreliable any defamatory statement (about anyone or anything) that any RD Hearsayer claims to be a true statement of another relayed by the RD Hearsayer (such as any defamatory statement he or she says he or she heard (or read) spoken (or written) by somebody else).
While it is logically possible for a RD Hearsayer to become a member of the RC (Refrigerator Confirmers), our advice #2 above persists for that particular RD Hearsayer that we do not recommend to travelers their ever granting of any merit to any defamatory statement coming from that particular RD Hearsayer that is NOT that RD Hearsayer's own 'expert' or 'lay person' finding based upon his or her direct examination of REAL evidence. Similarly, while it is logically possible for an RD Accuser to relay truthful statements from the RC (Refrigerator Confirmers) about the ongoing excellent performance and condition of the refrigerator (and perhaps to later adopt those statements in their own new, corrected opinion based upon the accurate truthful hearsay from the RC and yet contradicting their previous erroneous opinion based upon their own direct examination of the REAL evidence), our advice #1 above persists for that particular RD Accuser that we do not recommend to travelers their ever granting of any merit to any defamatory statement coming from that RD Accuser that purports to be his or her own 'expert' or 'lay person' finding.

Near The Ocean:
The cottages DO NOT present MUCH of a visual barrier to the ocean views of #415. Though they ARE 9-foot tall 1-story buildings, their foundations are several feet below the South Wing's foundation level, and they are far enough AWAY from the seawall that the geometry from (fourth floor) #415 allows you to MOSTLY SEE OVER THEM. From #415 at a viewing height of 5.5 feet, the top 6 inches of the seawall railing is visible OVER the cottage lanai bridge, and the full height of the railing is visible to the right of the cottages. From #415, the cottages present the equivalent of about a 4-foot hedgerow at the edge. (In other words, IF the cottages did not exist AND IF a 4-foot hedgerow (like next door at Hono Koa) replaced the seawall railing in front of them, the view of the shallow ocean near the seawall from #415 would be about the same.) But Much Better Yet YOU WILL NOT MISS ANYTHING, because YOU CAN PHYSICALLY GO TO THIS SEAWALL AREA IN FRONT OF THE COTTAGES WHENEVER YOU WANT TO !...moreless

The Hale Ono Loa literally 'rises above' its surroundings as its architectural style includes a very tall (somewhat ornamental) portion of the structure that proudly casts its name ('Hale Ono Loa') at a height above the tree lines and nearby structures and is thus prominently visible from inland positions. The two 4-story wings of the Hale Ono Loa and its single-wing 4-story neighbor (Hono Koa) together complete an aesthetically pleasing large-scale quadrilateral courtyard-style environment open to the ocean on the longest side. The South Wing of Hale Ono Loa forms a side that directly faces the open ocean side and courtyard areas, while the other two 4-story buildings form the other two sides and are located off either of the South Wing's flanks.
ABOUT THE WEATHER
The Tradewinds blow with a persistently significant velocity over all of the State of Hawaii FROM an average direction (ABOUT 1.274 RADIANS for all of the State of Hawaii; and very slightly more Easterly than that locally) that is nearly precisely East-NorthEast (ENE). In other words, the average annual 'upwind' direction in Hawaii is closer to ENE than it is to (either) due East (or to 'due' NorthEast). IF the trade wind is blowing directly FROM the East-NorthEast at any given moment, THEN the wind velocity vector points west-southwest and has a WEST-FLOWING SPEED COMPONENT that is about 2.4 times that of its south-flowing speed component [cotangent of pi/8 radians = 1 + 2^(1/2)] . The Unit faces nearly due West (~ 4.975 radians), and is basically rectangular with EXTERIOR OPENINGS ON THE EAST AND WEST SIDES. By far, the largest exterior opening on the windward / wind intake side (the East) is the front door opening (also with a large vent right next to it), which is STRATEGICALLY LOCATED AT THE EAST-NORTHEAST corner of our rectangular Unit, thereby OPTIMIZING THE INTAKE OF THE EAST-NORTHEAST TRADE WINDS for enhanced distribution throughout the interior.
The PHJH Weather Station at the Kapalua West Maui Airport is the nearest weather station to Hale Ono Loa at less than 1 mile away (about 0.7 of a mile). Based upon 1-year (8784 consecutive hourly data point measurements during a 366 consecutive day span) of weather data from the nearby PHJH Weather Station: the average 7 AM temperature is 72.3 degrees Fahrenheit; the average 2 PM temperature is highest (of the 24 hourly averages); the average 7 PM temperature is 74.6 degrees Fahrenheit; the average 6-DAY HIGH / LOW TEMPERATURES are 79.8 / 69.2 degrees Fahrenheit (computed as the average high and average low for all highs and lows corresponding to all distinct 6-DAY windows (with the last six days wrapping back to the first six days for consistency)); and the standard deviations of the average 6-DAY HIGH / LOW TEMPERATURES are 3.9 / 2.1 degrees Fahrenheit.

Unit 415 directly faces the Ocean & the Resort Common Elements (as clearly shown by the aerial picture and plan view sketch). Directly to south of Hale Ono Loa is the Hono Koa, which (was designed and built SUBSEQUENT to the designing and buildings of Hale Ono Loa and) includes a 4-story wing that is depicted as the bottom-most building with the amber-looking roof in the aerial picture. The Hono Koa has a few-foot-tall wooden SHAKE roof fascia elevated yet another few feet above the tops of its 4th floor units, contributing to its GORGEOUSNESS as a building to look AT.
Unit 415 DOES NOT DIRECTLY FACE ANY BUILDINGS, but rather has 'peekaboo' views from its lanai (and from some of its interior areas) of both the Hono Koa and the Hale Ono Loa North Wing, and thus there are some areas of Unit 415 in which you CAN maintain (a) SIGHTLINE(s) to the Hono Koa and/or North Wing for hours at a time IF YOU WANT TO, but the unobstructed views of the Ocean & Resort Common Elements will ALWAYS BE FRONT AND CENTER in the viewing directions mostly perpendicular to and through the Lanai Opening. Importantly, although the ocean view from the bedroom spans the entire horizontal extent of the lanai opening, NO point of the space in the bedroom of Unit 415 is intervisible to any point of space in any other Unit at Hale Ono Loa or at Hono Koa. (In other words, if you pick any point in Unit 415 Bedroom and call it 'Point A', and then pick any point in any space of any other unit of Hale Ono Loa or of any unit of Hono Koa and call it 'Point B', Points A & B will NOT be INTERVISIBLE regardless of how ANYBODY configures ANY doors, blinds, or other visual barriers.)
