I stumbled onto the venice canals in the mid-90s and knew immediately that someday I would build my ideal home here. A decade later, in 2005, I spent the year completing this home - and live in it myself throughout the year when not on projects traveling.

The house is absolutely a perfect way to experience LA. The property itself is stunning and well maintained and the location cannot be beat. You can walk to a variety of retail, restaurants, bars, plus all that Venice beach and boardwalk have to offer. The Owner is professional, responsive, and very welcoming. We will be back next year for sure. A+!!!!!!

We stayed at this comfortable house during Christmas and New Year and into January, a time of year that was a mixture of cool temps and very nice decorations along the canals. Ours was a family visit and the Christmas tree helped with our celebrations. We enjoyed the hot tub and had lots of room to relax in. The kitchen and dining area worked well for family dinners. The master bedroom is very cozy but still spacious enough. We also made good use of the office level where the desk computer was a welcome addition. The owner was very responsive and helpful. One thing to be aware of is that there are many people who like to walk around the canals and that means that privacy is somewhat difficult. But, this is Venice and everyone is friendly. The canals are walking distance to the beach and to Abbott Kinney where there are many casual restaurants and shops. We would recommend renting this house for one or two couples. We would certainly rent again.
Recommended for:Romantic getaway, sightseeing, tourists without a car, age 55+.

My family and I stayed one week at the Venice Canal house. The inside and outside design of the house is amazing, perfectly equipped and furnished. The location on the canal is breathtaking and peaceful. Josh ( the owner ) was really helpful if we needed anything. I would definitely recommend this property to my friends and family. I will for sure be back next year.
Recommended for:Romantic getaway, tourists without a car, age 55+, families with teenagers, girls getaway, families with young children.

The listing photos hardly reflect how great is the property. Apart from the unique location, the pristine conditions, the vast range of amenities the best thing you can experience is the overall atmosphere. The owner is very helpful and present if necessary. In a sentence: a place where you defintiely want to spend some quality time. I hope I will soon have the opportunty to enjoy the location once again.

This house is a perfect blend of California casual elegance, hi-tech and comfort. The rooftop jacuzzi area inspired me to put one of my own in in my house in Mexico. The Venice canals are one of the great places in the US. You can walk to the beach, stores, good restaurants, a rarity in L.A. June is known for its "June gloom" -- days of cool overcast weather. The ocean water gets warmer as the summer progresses. But a house like this is a pleasure in any season.
