This centennial house, while preserving all the atmosphere of its past, today is a most comfortable establishment with tranquil, relaxing areas and incredible views looking out over the legendary and romantic city of Guanajuato.
Each and every corner of the Casa del Colibrí reveals our intention in its restoration:Every detail is simple and unpretentious, yet offers charm and delight.
The five large rooms, with wonderful views of the city, its mountains, and numerous belltowers, provide lively colors which invite you to escape and enjoy your stay.
Our philosophy is that the guest should feel carefree and comfortable, with the privilege of going out to explore or take a walk, yet afterwards enjoy a quick easy return “home”.
La Aldonza: a young country girl who scarcely knows Don Quijote but with whom he had been madly infatuated with at one time. She probably never was aware of this, and would have undoubtedly cared less. His womanly ideal, the lady of his thoughts, though, all begin through his crush on this provincial lass.
This room on the first floor includes a king-size bed, or two singles, and bath.
La Dulcinea:As part of his knightly endeavours, Don Quijote needs a lady to whose service he is sworn with undying love. The name Dulcinea del Tobosa appeals to him as musical, unique, and of course, full of romantic meaning. It is to his imaginary, idealized Dulcinea that he commends himself with all his heart as he launches his famous battle against the windmills.
This room on the third floor includes a king size bed or two singles, private bath, balcony, and is on one side of the main balcony terrace.
Maritormes: around the time of his battle against the windmills, Don Quijote is so overcome by his hallucinations that he regards the most ugly (blind in one eye and with the other diseased, and hunchbacked as well) Asturian barmaid as a most beautiful lady.
This room on the second floor includes one king size or two single
beds.
La Ingeniosa: El Ingenioso Hidalgo Don Quijote de la Mancha is just one of various titles applied to our hero. Others are:-"the famous", "the brave", "the enamored:, and the "fine gentleman". "Ingenioso" seems to have originally meant "of honourable birth", but then also "simple, artless, innocent, naïve, and without guile”.
This room on the second floor includes one double and two single beds.
La Criptana: Don Quijote fights the windmills, which he imagines to be giants, near the provincial town of the Campo de Criptana, near the featureless, desolate plain in La Mancha.
This room includes two double beds.
