The farmhouse was perfectly located for a fun and relaxing visit to Healdsburg and surrounding areas. We enjoyed the visits many picturesque wineries, with wonderful wines. Healdsburg has great shopping and restaurants. Margaret was a huge help with recommendations, and she made sure we had everything we needed. This was a perfect vacation rental and location for two couples. Beds were comfortable and the kitchen had everything we needed. We'd return in a heartbeat.Recommended for: Age 55+, families with teenagers, girls getaway, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

Lytton Place Farmhouse is an absolute gem in the Healdsburg area. 5 minutes from downtown, and right in the middle between the Dry Creek, Alexander, and Russia River Valley wine regions. Margaret, the owner is friendly and helpful, and provides an excellent guide to the various wine regions and places to eat in Healdsburg. Every winery she recommended was outstanding, as were her restaurant suggestions. We Rates are very reasonable, and even more so if splitting the cost with friends (which we did, we were traveling with another couple). The Farmhouse has a bedroom and bath upstairs, and living room, dining room, kitchen, bedroom & bath downstairs. There is also a laundry room with washer/dryer, and a lovely porch/patio in back (with a gas grill provided) and a nice porch out front. Views from the farmhouse are spectacular. Highly recommended. I was almost reluctant to post this review lest Lytton Place become more popular and therefore harder to rent!Recommended for: Age 55+, girls getaway, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

There were two couples and our very sweet 12 year old Chocolate Labradore Retriever who stayed in this charming farmhouse over the 4th of July holiday. The farmhouse is ideal for 2 couples, one of which has their own private room and bathroom upstairs and the other bedroom and bathroom loacated downstairs. The home has old world charm with nicely appointed furnishings, and updated bathrooms and kitchen. The backyard patio is ideal to dine alfresco in the cool July evenings and was ideal for our dog with lovely lawn and landscaping and fenced in. The location of the place is very convenient to the town square of Healdsburg and also close to the area wineries. We were very comfortable there and absolutaly loved everything about it. Margaret the owner is kind and gracious and was absolutely wonderful to work with. We will definately be staying again when our next trip brings us to wine country.Recommended for: Age 55+, girls getaway, pet owners, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

Upon entering this charming turn of the century farmhouse, we were greeted with fresh flowers, 2 fully updated bathrooms, a modern kitchen with all the amenities, 2 darling comfortable bedrooms, a laundry room, and a spacious living room and dining room. We especially enjoyed the view from the front porch setting in comfortable chairs drinking morning coffee or reading and gazing out at the peaceful surrounding farmland and vineyards. The partially covered back porch was perfect for grilling and sitting out having wine and cheese after long excursions at the numerous vineyards nearby. The farm house is about 3 miles from the Healdsburg town square where you will find many cute shops and many nice restaurants. The owner is a fabulous owner/hostess with many suggestions and she is nearby to offer any help you may need. Not only are you very close to Sonoma wineries, you are also very close to the road that takes you to Napa. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay, as everything was perfect. We would highly recommend it.Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, girls getaway, pet owners, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

We had another great stay at the Farmhouse for the New Year's weekend this year, our fourth visit. It just keeps getting better! My husband and I stay with family (additional family members can easily stay at near by motels), and we have fun cooking and enjoying meals together with plenty of room for extra dinner guests. The lodgings are comfortable and cozy, the kitchen is well equipted, and we all enjoy the extra space the Farmhouse gives us. The new flat screen TV was great for watching New Year's festivities around the world. Margaret is very helpful with any questions we have about the area. We appreciate her hospitality, and always feel most welcome at the Farmhouse. As a bonus for those who enjoy cooking, there is a great gourmet market, Big John's, just a few minutes drive away. We are very happy to have found such a great place to stay in Healdsburg, and plan to return yearly.Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 0/0

Having enjoyed a stay at Lytton Place last spring, we decided to stay there for Christmas, as well, and we could not have been more pleased that we did. I would first like to empasize that Lytton Place is loaded to the brim with old-fashioned charm while at the same time, the bathrooms have been totally updated and function beautifully, two things, I've learned the hard way, that don't always go hand-in-hand! Lytton Place's location is ideal inthat it's close to endless numbers of wineries, great restaurants, interesting shops and excellent food markets while still giving us the feeling of being contentedly nestled alone among Margaret's vineyard. Though I brought some of my own cooking equipment, I found that none of it was necessary because the kitchen was stocked well above and beyond what I had expected, including a food processor. I was able to prepare Christmas dinner very easily, and six of us had lots of elbow room at the table. We brought our own small Christmas tree but Margaret had even provided festive Christmas plants for us and made us feel right at home. Being able to visit family in this area while staying at this cozy farmhouse made this Christmas experience one of my family's most special of all. Keep the porch light burning, Margaret; we'll be back.Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

We loved staying at Margaret's place. It had all the comforts of home, was very convenient to downtown Healdsburg, and was just a delight to stay in. The place was immaculate, and had all the conveniences that one would need or expect. My wife and I were looking to get out of the Arizona heat for a month and found the perfect spot at Lytton Place. An authentic turn of the century farm house located perfectly; away from the hustle and bustle of the city but close enough to downtown Healdsburg and all the wineries you could ever hope for. We have friends and children in the Bay Area so it was a perfect location for weekend visitors and the extra bedroom and private bath worked very well for visitors. We like to hike and found some great trails near enough that we didn't have to drive. Just stepped off the front porch and off we went with our dog Ginger. We also played some of the nearby golf courses in Healdsburg, Windsor, and Guerneville. Very reasonable prices and fun courses. The farm house is such a comfortable place with a wonderful owner nearby to help give advice on places to go and things to see. The best part was the ambience. Reading on the front porch in the morning, wine and cheese on the back patio in the evening, afternoon naps with the breeze blowing through the window makes it very hard to leave. We will be back.Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, families with young children, girls getaway, pet owners, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

This is a great location, a quick drive to the town of Healdsburg and just minutes away from dozens of wineries. Nicely appointed without being too cute, very comfortable, well equipped kitchen and very good beds. It almost makes you want to hang out on the porch or the back yard, not get in your car and go out and drink the great wine this area is famous for. Margaret is a good hostess, making sure you have every thing you need and giving you the inside scoop on lots of restaurants and wineries. I will definitely return!Recommended for: Age 55+, girls getaway, tourists without a car, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

We stayed at the farmhouse over a very busy Passport to Dry Creek Valley weekend, and everything about our stay was perfect! The farmhouse is conveniently situated just a few miles north of downtown Healdsburg and a few miles east of some of the best wineries in Sonoma County. The accommodations were charming and spacious, and both the front porch and back patios were perfect places to unwind at the end of the day. Margaret, the owner, was very accommodating and gracious with what were probably in retrospect some pretty tipsy guests after a day of wine-tasting! I can't wait to go back.Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

We stayed at Lytton Place for a week in 2005 and we look forward with great enthusiasm to spending two weeks in 2008. We enjoyed all the amenities that make a vacation so very memorable - a great kitchen and dining arrangement, comfortable beds, up-to-date bath, patio with gas grill, etc.,- home away from home. The location was great for visiting the Sonoma County Wine Country not to mention the Pacific Coast with it's beautiful beaches, Redwood forests and Parks. Margaret Morris, the owner, was very helpful and gracious when we had questions about where to shop locally and also where we would find good food as we explored Sonoma County Wine Country.Did you find this review helpful? We stayed at Lytton Place for a week in 2005. It is an excellent facility, a charming revitalized farm house, strategically located to wineries in the Russian River Valley, Dry Creek, Alexander, etc. We cooked every night in a well equiped kitchen and ate meals in an attractive dining room. The bedrooms (up and down) are nicely decorated. The owner (Margaret Morris) was fantastic, with a great sense of humor; she was always helpful when questions came up, generous with suggestions about both small family wineries and excellent restaurants to worth visiting. We were so excited about Lytton Place that we plan to go back in 2008 for two weeks! This is a vacation home that shouldn't be missed.Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 0/0

Margaret: We stayed at Lytton Place over Labor Day weekend, 2007. We had a wonderful experience. The home was spacious, private, and quiet. We had everything we needed for a wine tasting weekend. The breakfast items provided by you were a wonderful touch. We thoroughly enjoyed our weekend at Lytton Place. The proximity to the Sonoma wineries and the town of Healdsburg was fantastic. We are already trying to plan another visit.Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 0/0

Thank you so much for providing us a wonderful and inviting abode during our recent visit to wine country. Your house was lovely, and with all of the comforts of home -- Kohler appliances, Heath ceramics, antique tables, comfy beds/linens, and even a screwpull wine opener! You've put a lot of love into the place and it shows. We truly enjoyed our stay. Next visit we'll spend more time and perhaps have an opportunity to meet you.Did you find this review helpful?
