  This studio condo was exactly as described. Well appointed, nice decor, and a King bed. Short walk to the beach (maybe 20 yards!)....The pool was being repaired upon arrival, but looks nice and will be beautiful after its refilled ( the owner called to let us know about the pool issue prior to arrival) - the beach was ours and the sunsets were beautiful. I would definitely recommend this condo..... We had a short getaway while visiting family in Sarasota and will definitely consider returning to this condo in the future! The property was clean and the maid service was very respectful of "rest time". I don't think you will be disappointed.....

  Recommended for: Romantic getaway, age 55+.

  Growing up, our family always came to Longboat Key as kids and stayed at the Diplomat. As adults, my brother and I have continued the tradition of bringing our families here....and they have yet to let us down!!! :) This unit is beautiful! The bed is comfy, it's all up to date. The kitchen has everything we need. We love how we are right on the water. We had stayed in another unit earlier in the year and were not as pleased. We don't have children yet, so this was very spacious for us. However, when my husband had to return home early for work...my neice and nephew stayed with me for a night. It was great to have the stow away bed and the kids loved it. I have nothing but great things to say about this unit and the Diplomat in general. If there are any problems---they address them ASAP. (even when you accidentally lock yourself out!). I would recommend (and do) to anyone looking for close beach access and family friendly services. Nothing fancy...but totally worth it!!!

  Recommended for: Girls getaway, families with teenagers, age 55+, families with young children.

  We were overwhelmed by this wonderful property. We always try to travel off season to avoid the crowds. The unit was well appointed and recently updated, the check in and stafff were wonderful and Archena the owner was a delight. We would recommend this studio condo for anyone who wants to get away. Even though there are other properties nearby you almost feel as if the beach is yours alone. The pool was outstanding - clean and one of the warmest heated pools I have ever encountered. We love dolphins and were surprised to see them every day of our stay. One day we saw approximately 50-60 dolphins total for the day. Plenty of wonderful places for dining and shopping. This is a wonderful place to take a family, for couples, or anyone that needs to get away from it all. No loud parties or offensive behavior here. The view from the unit is wonderful and we loved that we could access the beach and pool with ease. We travel quite frequently and this area and condo come is one of our favorites.

  Recommended for: Romantic getaway, girls getaway, age 55+, sightseeing, families with young children, people with disabilities.

  We stayed in this nice unit for three nights during the first part of April, 2008. The uint was very clean and well set up, everything is provided and in nice shape. The best part is that this unit is right on the gulf. There are no obstructions and you are looking right at the water and great sunsets. There is free wifi and maid service included too. We did not expect that and were pleased. For an affordable rental on Longboat Key I would stay here again. Jim & Babs - Atlanta, GA
