This place is amazing and full of character. Each room and every detail is unique. Had a wonderfully relaxing time cooking, hot tubing, building paths and skipping rocks on the beach, watching the Belmont Stakes, reading and hanging out in the amazing sauna. A great place for kids, with all the games in the game room. We will definetely be back! What with it being only 1 hour from North Portland, how can we resist?Recommended for: Age 55+, families with young children, families with teenagers, pet owners, adventure seekers, girls getaway.

Great group retreat! Highly recommend this place for summer or winter vacations, lots of great amenities and beautiful scenery. They let us have three dogs so our puppy friends could come too! We will be back to enjoy the summer weather on the deck and relaxing next to the river. The open kitchen is great for socializing while cooking dinner. The hot tub is great, but it would be better if the cover lifted off in a different direction as it blocks the view down to the river.Recommended for: Families with teenagers, pet owners, adventure seekers, girls getaway, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

Great place on the river! This place was great. I live in North Portland and it only took 1 hour to get there and back. It was really nice, decorated interestingly, tons of natural wood that was beautiful. The walls and ceilings were so inventive - I've never seen anything like them. Other than that it was just a great place to stay and relax - the hot tub worked well, the sauna worked well, it was great to have 3 bathrooms, no one ever had to wait. One bathroom even had a double headed shower. I like that it was an older home, I'm not too into the new craftsman style cheap construction. The kitchen was nicely stocked with some oil, salt, and spices, as well as some tea with a sign saying feel free to enjoy - you can just tell the owners are nice people (I'm not their friend - this was just a great rental). There were also about 10 ice trays (nice if you are planning on relaxing with friends and adult beverages). There was also a closet with blankets, tons of pillows, etc. The place just felt stocked, I've rented a few places where you just feel like they're trying to nickle and dime every little thing, or they lock the toilet paper so you run out and have to buy your own. The rec room is pretty amazing - with basketball, foosball and ping pong. It was also nice that they have recycling out there. I like not having to lug a million things back to Portland with me just to be sure that they don't throw it all away. There are neighbors somewhat close, you can see a house on either side, but it did feel really private anyway. I don't think we heard them, and I don't think they heard us - the house felt well insulated. I would definitely rent again!Recommended for: Age 55+, families with young children, people with disabilities, families with teenagers, pet owners, girls getaway, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

The cabin was cute and all however the dryer is very loud. We could not use it to dry our clothes. When we called the management they would not help. The house keeping sucks. Cob webs everywhere. The vacuum cleaner did not work at all. Looks like someone used it to clean out the fire place. The hot tub was half full and when it is open you don't have a view of the river. The basket balls are all flat with no pump to fill them. The rec room is not heated so you couldn't really use it during the winter. The ping pong table is warped. The main bathroom that has the sauna has no curtains so when you undress to shower everyone around can see you. The oil heat must have run low since the house smelt of oil. The sofa in the living room smelled of feet. So I hope you enjoy the smell of feet. There was no propane for the BBQ so we had to drive ten miles to fill it up. There were two sticks of fire wood so we supplied that. The neighbor dogs like to visit and bark at the sliding door. You can also expect random visitors in the back yard as it appears the locals like to walk their dogs along the path running to the back yard. The management company said there was nothing they can do and showed they could care less if they kept our business. Over all we had fun since we had good company. But we will never rent from this company again. So if you don't mind spending lots of money and not get all the things you pay for then this is the house for you. If the place had been priced lower we would have handled the above issues But don't bother complaining the rental company won't do anything for you, so enjoy!Owner response: We apologize for the issues that arose during your stay. Had we been notified earlier, we most certainly would have sent someone to take care of your concerns and put more water in the hot tub. We issued a partial refund based on your complaints and we have corrected these items for future guests.

We just spent a long weekend at the Mountain Air Lodge over the holiday and I have to say, that I was impress; a very clean place, very homey...all you need is right there; I wish there was a WI-FI. We loved everything about it, the location, the wood burner, the fire pit, the hot tub, it's quiet; it's like a dream place! The deck is non-usable since is not covered and it's raining a lot there, it will be very nice to have it covered. So everyone, book your stay and enjoy!Did you find this review helpful?
