Our family found Brooke Haven after the home we used to rent for 25 years in Ellison Bay went up for sale. We were very glad to have located Brooke Haven through the web site.. The home is beautifully decorated with hardwood floors. It seemed as if every member of our family was able to have their own area to get away between the family room, living room, 3 season porch, and lovely yard. Our sons especially enjoyed the back yard for games of bags, and the bikes were used almost daily. Our 1 and a half year old grandson even started to say "home" when we would pull into the driveway. My husband and I located a new beach while we were at Brooke Haven. Our sons knew of it, but my husband and I couldn't believe after all these years we would discover a new beach. It's the Liberty Grove town beach. Start out at Brooke Haven and turn left at the Pioneer store. Keep going straight to the T. Turn left at the T and go a block or so where you turn right into the beach. The beach is all sand, and shallow for a long way out, There is a nice shaded area, and great for all ages. Our favorite restaurants are The Viking in Ellison Bay, and The Ice Cream Factory in Sister Bay. We do higfhly recommend staying at Brooke Haven.

Brooke Haven is definitely a haven. My family of four thoroughly enjoyed our stay at your home. Thank you. We had so much room - I definitely can see the house big enough for a larger family. The house had everything we needed -- the kitchen was complete, the showers were hot, the beds were comfortable ... the house had all the amenities we needed for a perfect vacation.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Brooke Haven! All of the communication ahead of time was thorough and prompt. It was so comfortable and roomy enough for three couples and our three toddlers. The guys especially liked the ping pong table. I found this to be the most reasonable price in the area for the type of house, and I would recommend it to anyone visiting the area. Thanks!

Our family's history with Door County goes back to 1981 when my wife and I, still courting, spent a weekend with friends, just outside of Sturgeon Bay. We toured the entire peninsula that weekend and fell in love with this county. The following summer we married and made Sister Bay our honeymoon site for a week. After a long hiatus we returned to Door County near Kangaroo Lake for two summers, where we rented a small house from a colleague of mine. Finally, about 9 years ago, my wife landed on Brookhaven on the internet, a cape cod home in Ellison Bay for rent. It was love at first site for our family. Now, after 8 or 9 consecutive years of rental, we consider it our second home. It is a full size house, with spacious rooms--very unlike a typical cramped summer home. The upstairs is a large loft that my sons have claimed for their haunt. Downstairs are two lovely bedrooms and a four seasons room, that I have made my own bed for the week. The kitchen has every amenity one would need for cooking or baking. There is a TV room off the kitchen with all the stations one needs plus a full size living room, all comfortably furnished. The basement even holds some allure with its ping pong table. For me the greatest part of the house is its location. It is off the beaten path of all the sites we used to visit in our early years. Its backyard is a veritable forest of large old trees that provide great shade all day long and the alluring sound of the wind. Being in Brookhaven is as if no one else is around. Only a mile down the road is Garrett Bay where we have chosen to swim and take in our kayak rentals on occasion. As you can see I can't say enough positive about this home. It is a treat and worth every penny of the weekly rental. The owners maintain the property and house immaculately and are most gracious with us, their renters. Our only hope is that they don't sell it or move into it permanently. We would be most sad.
Owner response:We are so glad to have you back each year (now going on 9 or 10 years!!) We love sharing our home with wonderful people like yourselves. See you this summer!

Second stay at Brooke Haven (twelve years visiting Ellison Bay). Still discovered a few new routes for biking and hiking. Visited favorite galleries nearby and enjoyed a wonderful dinner at T. Ashwells less than 2 miles from the house! Thank you for sharing your home with us again this year.
