The best oceanfront views on the north shore. Sand and Tide pools out front, spectacular beaches to the right and a world famous diving spot (Sharks Cove) to the left. Gentle ocean breezes stunning views. A marine sanctuary is just steps from the front door, some of the best snorkeling and diving on the island. Ever changing images of crashing waves or serene deep blue waters energize and mesmerize. 3 bedroom, 2 bath upstairs (sleeping up to 7 adults) and a lower bedroom with a separate entrance another deck and 1 bath downstairs (sleeps 3 more). Ocean front lawns, secluded access to tide pools and beaches. Washer and dryer on each level of the house.
Rich natural wood floors, one king, two queen-size beds, and 3 full sized beds, three baths and generous private parking on the property.

Overall we had a nice stay in this house. The view is fantastic, just as stated. It was quiet and secluded for our party of 7, away from the traffic of Kam Hwy. We had to walk a ways to get beach access, and the waves at the local beach were too large and crashing on the sand, so we went up to turtle bay to let the kids swim. That was disappointing. This house is oceanfront - not beachfront. A large inconvenience was the microwave in the photos was not there. The pots, pans, and cooking utensils have seen better days. It was very nice to have a washer/dryer unit in the master bedroom. The downstairs dryer is broken. The fridge water dispenser is broken and sprays out water from the base of the fridge causing a mess. There are towels and beach towels for use. There are a few snorkels masks that worked, but most the gear is not usable. We enjoyed the cable tv, but the wifi offered didn't work most of the time. Pros: the view, the proximity to snorkeling, location to Waimea Bay, pool, comfortable beds & furnishings, ceiling fans. Cons: no direct beach access, jagged lava was not child friendly, house got really hot in evening sun, no microwave, no supplies, condiments, soaps, lots of tourists exploring out front. It's a nice place to stay, and we even saw a sea turtle basking in the sun on the sand just south of Pupukea beach, as well as many geckos in the house. As long as you are not going in with high expectations - like someone else said - it's no RitzCarlton! The owner was friendly and was good about communication, although it was all via Email - never spoke on the phone or in person. The neighbors on the property were quiet and stuck to themselves. Just wanted to give an honest and fair review. The views were a five, the house was a three, so overall was four stars.Recommended for: Adventure seekers, tourists without a car, girls getaway, sightseeing.

Stayed 7 nights at this property following 4 nights in Maui. A family vacation we had been planning for some time and we did an exhaustive search to find the ideal location. We could not have been happier with our selection. The house is exactly as described. Very comfortable accomodations combined with breathtaking views. A couple of very "minor" problems when we arrived which were resolved within minutes of reporting to Steve. The location of the property was ideal for us. Remote enough to fully enjoy the true Hawaii experience but within an hours drive to any of the island attractions. Located in a small village with very friendly locals and walking distance to Foodland and neighboring beaches. The evening sunsets combined with the ocean views were beyond our expectations. Would highly recommend to anyone seeking a relaxing vacation.Recommended for: Pet owners, adventure seekers, families with young children, families with teenagers, girls getaway, romantic getaway, sightseeing, age 55+.

We loved this place! It wasn't "high end" but it was clean, comfortable and absolutely perfect for a large family. The rooms were large, the beds were VERY comfortable and the view was fantastic. We saw more whales at closer range than we did on the whale watching trip we paid for. It also contained absolutely everything you would have at home. Pots, pans, towels, bikes, sand toys, snorkel gear, lawn chairs and even a small cooler to take snacks to the beach. The beach immediately in front of the house was rocky but it was just a short (1/2 block) walk down an easy lane to an amazing child friendly beach but it was also only minutes away from several other very popular beaches. The owner was friendly and informative and we knew he would be available if we needed him but we clearly felt we had our own space. It really did feel just like being at home. We would use this place over and over if we were lucky enough to return to Hawaii again.Recommended for: Adventure seekers, families with young children, families with teenagers, girls getaway, sightseeing, age 55+.

This property was everything we had hoped for. We took our whole family ,including grand kids ,for a weeks stay and it was the perfect setting. The location was amazing. While drinking coffee on the deck in the morning, we would watch migrating whales and view spectacular rainbows over the ocean. It was fun to explore the tide pools in the lava beds directly in front of the house or walk down to the sandy beach nearby. We enjoyed the bike path and the proximity to the grocery store. It was so easy to get to other locations and activities from this spot. The house was clean and well maintained. (The master bathroom could use a coat of paint, but it was sanitary) It was a fantastic experience and everything that was promised was delivered. I would highly recommend this property for a great north shore vacation.Recommended for: Adventure seekers, tourists without a car, families with young children, families with teenagers, girls getaway, romantic getaway, age 55+.

We just returned from our Hawaiin vacation. My husband and I took our 3 kids and their significant others and an 8 month old baby. Everyone had a great time and a ton of fun! We enjoyed staying in the North Shore area, we felt it was a great location because the beaches are so close and it was away from all of the congestion in the city. We took a couple of day trips to Waikiki and also spent a full day at Pearl Harbor. The rest of the time was spent on the beaches close by. The house suited our needs perfectly. We had my son, daughter-in-law and baby stay in the unit downstairs. It had a small refrigerator and sink and it's own washer and dryer. The rest of us stayed upstairs and had plenty of room to move around. We spent a lot of time on the balcony because it was so peaceful and the views are really spectacular. We slept with the windows open every night so we could hear the waves. There is a washer and dryer in the upstairs unit as well as another set underneath the deck, for a total of 3. There were water toys available for use, 2 coffee makers with filters, dishes, cups, glassware, wine glasses and silverware. Also provided were towels and beach towels, games, DVD's and gas BBQ grill. If we make a return visit to Oahu, we will be sure to rent this home again!Recommended for: Adventure seekers, families with young children, families with teenagers, girls getaway, romantic getaway.

Our family rented two properties from HangZen. When we arrived we couldn't get over the beautiful views..they were magnificent. the houses were (as described) right on the beach and from the start we were able to enjoy typical Hawaaian ocean front living. The property managers were very accomodating and took care in answering all of our questions and even recomended a fabulous photographer and luau to attend. Minor issues were attended to immediately so that we were comfortable. Everything is conveniently located and very private and relaxing! I would recomend a stay here during the non-rainy season. Usual amenities are provided for you except a hair dryer!! We loved it!! and will be back!!Recommended for: Families with young children, families with teenagers.

Just got back from spending 4 nights at this house and had a great time! The pictures really don't do the location justice. It's really an amazing spot right on the water. You don't have direct sand in front of the house, but it's a short walk to a great sandy beach. We actually enjoyed being able to walk right out onto the rocks and check out the tide pools. The house is well-equipped with everything you'll need and it's a short walk to Starbucks, Foodland and a great food truck. Definitely recommend staying here.Recommended for: Adventure seekers, families with young children, families with teenagers, girls getaway, sightseeing.

I recently stayed here for four nights with a few mates and had the best holiday ever! The North Shore is a must see destination and this beach house was absolutely perfect. Lots of room, plenty of beds, living area and kitchen has all that you could ever reqire. Supermarket is a 5 minute walk away which allowed us to stock up on the essentials. Lot of beach equipment at the house for our use made things even easier. As for the view, the photos don't lie! The deck is the perfect spot to unwind after a day on the beach. The BBQ got lots of use and eating dinners overlooking the ocean is about as good as it can get. I can HIGHLY recommend this house as it was exactly as described and suited us perfectly. Didn't want to leave!Recommended for: Adventure seekers, tourists without a car, families with young children, families with teenagers, sightseeing.

Our stay here was amazing, the view from the front porch was beautiful, with great sunsets, beautiful beaches, a cool breeze, just great. Just a short walk to Shark's Cove for snorkeling, to the grocery store, to Starbucks, everything was close. When Steve said he had towels and snorkeling gear at the house, I had no idea how much he had, there must have been enough equipment for 8 -10 people, he has beach booties for every size, towels for everyone, a closet full of kids toys, this house had everything. And Steve was so nice, he was there to help with everything and did a great job. We would recommend this house to everyone. We had three bedrooms upstairs and we put our son's family in the lower part of the house, it was perfect. Steve, thank you so much for making our vacation so wonderful. My 5 year old grand daughter was crying because she didn't want to leave. MahaloRecommended for: Families with young children, families with teenagers, girls getaway, age 55+.

I had seen pictures from the house before arriving, but until I looked off the deck myself, I had no comprehension of the beauty which I was about to witness. The positioning of the house allows for views of the beach to the right, lava rock leading to the water and Shark’s Cove to the left. No other house is blocking your view. Just incredible! We spend several afternoons just watching whales and waves from the deck. You can walk to Sharks Cove or the beach right across the lava rock or take the easier path down the sidewalk near the road. The house has snorkeling equipment, boogie boards and other stuff to help enjoy your stay. There was shore-break on the beach when we stayed, so boogie boarding was out, but the snorkeling equipment came in handy for checking out all the fish in Shark’s Cove. The kitchen was well equipped and there is a gas grill on the deck if you want to cook up your own food. The other couples who joined us took advantage of the kitchen and grill, but for my wife and I, this was a no-cooking vacation. A short drive will get you to Ted’s Bakery to enjoy some Chocolate Haupia pie, Hukilau Café for a Hukilau Burger or some Loco Moco or wait till one of the North Shore food trucks pulls up at Sharks Cove. Most mornings we took advantage of the close-by Starbucks to grab some coffee and listen to stories from some of the local folks. It was just a 10 minute walk and that takes you past Sharks Cove, so you can check out the snorkeling conditions. There are four bedrooms in the home, three upstairs and kind of an in-law suite in the lower level. Since my wife and I are pretty much newlyweds and decided it was a non-cooking vacation we took advantage of the lower level. The shower stall downstairs was a little small, but we still had our own washer and dryer as well as kitchenette. Four nights was not enough. I could have stayed at the house for 4 months.Recommended for: Families with young children, families with teenagers, romantic getaway, age 55+.
