  • We recently stayed at the Wilderness Cottage for a 3-day weekend. The experience was wonderful. The weather was overcast and rainy but we were cozy in front of the fireplace, listening to music, watching movies or dancing in the kitchen (and even in the rain one evening). The cabin was clean, VERY well stocked with everything you could need (Michael is exactly right when he says all you need do is bring food)has great atmosphere and an all around delight. We very much enjoyed meeting Michael who made sure we were comfortably settled in and wanted for nothing. We will definitely return!

  • My mother, my sister and I stayed a week at the Wilderness Cottage in early May. As everyone else has said, it is a charming little place with everything you need for comfort and privacy. We got a 3 inch snowfall the second day we were there and the place was indeed beautiful, warm and cozy, just like the pictures suggest. The rest of the week we had beautiful sunrises, and as Michael says, every one of them is different. Michael was a gracious host, allowing us to use the wi-fi hook-up at his place, within walking distance, whenever we needed it. And he gave us helpful suggestions for places to go and things to do (horseback riding and trails in the area to hike, etc.) as well as driving directions to other areas. We would love to return. We highly recommend this home-away-from-home if you are looking for a place to stay near Evergreen.

  • We just had a wonderful stay in the Wilderness Cottage for 4 nights. The directions were perfect that Michael provided. We enjoyed meeting him and hearing about the town. Evergreen was a wonderful town with so many friendly people and lots of things to do. The cabin was very clean and well stocked kitchen ammenities, fire wood, games, books, TV etc. We would love to come back. Thank you for a wonderful stay in the beautiful Rocky Mountains!

  • Our time in the Wilderness Cottage was exceptional, as expected from Michael Carter. The cottage was clean, beautiful and well stocked. The view and the deck are outrageous and the cabin is great for a couple or a whole group of people! We will absoloutely return.

  • We just returned from a week stay at the Wilderness Cottage. We had a wonderful time watching the wild-life, hiking and just enjoying the peace and quiet! Cottage was cozy, beds were very comfortable, kitchen was very convenient. What a beautiful countryside!
