Surround yourself with history in Honfleur, the loveliest town on the Normandy coast. Our stone and half-timber cottage, three minutes by foot from the breathtaking 17th-century Old Harbor, offers remarkable calm and charm.
Savor the Calvados region, noted for its seafood, cheese and cider. Shop at a lively Saturday street market with great sights and smells, and cook at home. Or choose among dozens of restaurants within walking distance, including three Michelin one-stars.
The private terrace, with lovely views of lawns, rooftops, chimney pots and clouds over the coast, is great for dining or just relaxing.
The total indoor surface is 700 square feet and the private, landscaped terrace is 260 square feet. The top-floor bedroom is furnished with a queen-sized bed. On the lower floor, two twin beds can be combined to make an oversized queen. Separate entrances, kitchens and bathrooms offer total privacy for two couples, or parents and older children, if desired.
Near the cottage, on the Quay St. Catherine, slender houses from the 1600s frame the Old Harbor, where antique boats and yachts are moored. In the outer harbor, fishing boats tie up.
The cobbled streets of the historic district meander past half-timbered houses, a great wooden church built by ships' carpenters and the Eugene Boudin art museum, as well as museums of seafaring everyday life and music. You can also enjoy dozens of art galleries, antique and gift shops - all beneath the green hills and dramatic skies of the Normandy coast.
Honfleur boasts a lively cultural calendar, and the beach is a 15-minute walk from the cottage. |
