We just spent a week here leading up to Xmas. The house is comfortable with a million dollar view of the Sea of Cortez.. Everything you may possibly need is nearby: Supermarkets, restaurants, bars, etc. And most of it in walking distance. We loved the little breakfast place Evies, with its friendly owner and staff and its excellent coffee that they roast themselves. Blackies restaurant is a short walk away and has indeed great seafood. We enjoyed the closeness to the water, just stepping across the large patio, and you are at the sea. We were also able to moor our little runabout boat right in front of the house, saving us a daily trip to the marina for launching and retrieving the boat. Internet is fast! Download speed of 1100Mb/s are the norm rather than the exception. The kids loved it! We found the property manager to be most helpful and responsive, the few minor issues we had during our stay were immediately taken care of.

The view from the living room in this place is exceptional. Seriously. You are spoiled to the maximum. The back porch is on the ocean. There were a couple adverse issues that aren't really a big deal but should be mentioned. One the main bathroom in the house had a bad smell coming from it. We told the property manager and they basically came in and said yeah I thinks its mildew. Whatever it was it was kinda bad. We just left that bathroom door shut the entire week and used the other in the master bedroom or the one in the casita. Not a big deal. This place is perfect for 3 couples as there is the casita, master, and two bedrooms which I would consider one. You have to go through one bedroom to get to the other. Not reasonable for a fourth couple. If you are using these two bedrooms for your kids it would be perfect. Luckily we only had 5 people which included 2 pairs. Overall a wonderful place to stay. Waking up and having coffee on the porch on the ocean is really too much. A truly mind clearing experience. I recommend it greatly. We plan on returning sometime in the near future hopefully. Try kayaking out to the islands with a guide. It's wonderful as blue footed boobies nest out on the islands. Also walk up to JJ's for tacos. His slogan is "why not" when you ask for another beer or taco and is quite entertaining. The chile relleno ones are great.
Owner response:Thank you very much for your review, we really appreciate it as we put considerable thought and effort into making our home an enjoyable experience not only for ourselves but also our guests. If memory serves we had a mouse "expire" under the cabinet in the middle bath causing the odor, we were just down for Thanksgiving and the only odors in the house were that of the sea breeze. I also will address responsiveness with my manager, thank you for pointing this out. Yes the front two bedrooms share an entrance and yes they work well for families, I try to be very clear on this point with all groups of any size. We are glad you got to walk to the many spots that are close to the house, this is a great feature of this location, maybe my favorite. Ok, the patio on the water is my favorite! Thanks again, saludos!

We had a wonderful stay-not only in San Carlos but in this beautiful home! This is our first time in San Carlos and we will definitely be back. Nice people, great food, and beautiful water and beaches. Check out the Soggy Peso -best margaritas and you can walk along Algodones beach. "Hawaii" was our favorite taco stand for carne asada. What a wonderful week with family, thanks and enjoy!

We had a great time in a great beach house! We celebrated a birthday; our grandson caught a 250lb. black marlin and the rest of us caught dorado (20-40 lbs.) Our boat is here so we don't spend too much time in our rooms but the time spent was well worth it, we will rent this house again.

A much enjoyed vacation, our advice is to enjoy life and take advantage of this beautiful place. Make sure you rent some kind of watercraft, eat at Blackie's, buy a cigar from JJ, and don't waste a moment!

I've been coming down for 26 years, this year we brought our neighbors and relatives, none had been here before - it was a HIT! Your home was the best we have ever been at, this was the best trip ever. We're already planning our next trip and we hope to stay here again. Awesome, we just can't say enough about how well our trip was, see you soon!

Wonderful home on the ocean. Celebrated my birthday here and Valentines Day. Men folks cooked us a beautiful dinner! Sunsets and sunrises unbelievable, fishing and sights were exhilarating. Want to come back again soon, we don't miss the snow and cold in South Dakota, thank you!

The short time we spent was great, The people were nice and friendly. I experienced new adventures and overcame some small fears which will help me face reality when I return to a stressful and busy work load. After this amazing vacation I'll return home with a positive attitude and ready to grab control of my world! The house is "muy bonita", I enjoyed my stay in San Carlos, The people were very nice and everyone always said hi. The last morning I went for a run. LOVED IT!!

This house lit up the eyes of our group when we arrived. The second we waked in we all knew this was going to be a great weekend. The dive shop was great! They took us on some awesome and memorable adventures. Deep sea fishing, kayaking, snorkeling, and scuba diving. Best vacation EVER! Even better than Cancun! We will definitely return. Thanks!!

I would like to add on to the previous entry. I came to Mexico with low expectations. However, upon a long weekend visit, my views changed. When the sun sets on the horizon shades of orange, red, and blue eclipse the houses in front of them. The feelings invoked by this scene are inspirational and life changing. As you sit upon the beach watching the sunset and listening to the encroaching waves, you have no other option than to believe God himself has touched your life and every grain of sand within sight. The inanimate objects are not the only inspiring aspects of Mexico. Every person we have met has been open, friendly, and incredibly courteous. My outlook on Mexico has changed forever.

What a great way to start the New Year! Our stay has been full of fun times amongst friends of over ten years: snorkeling, biking, running, kayaking, kite-surfing watching, and feasting. We have all decided to use the view from the house to the sea as our screen savers. The slow peaceful life here renews us all for the upcoming year, thank you!
