Big Sky and Moonlight Basin combined their ski terrain in 2006 to form the largest skiable terrain in North America, with more than 5800 acres of skiing. Lift lines are non-existent and it is not unusual to ski 3 miles without seeing another person. The runs are wide and magical or if you prefer extreme skiing, Big Sky and Moonlight Basin offer some of the steepest of the steeps along with lots of champagne powder.
Summer is the icing on the cake. Yellowstone National Park is ONLY 45 minutes away. The drive to West Yellowstone is amazing. Also,just outside your door you can spot deer, moose, elk, and lots of other wildlife. The Gallatin River, featured in the movie "A River Runs Through It", runs through Big Sky and offers some of the best blue-ribbon fishing in North America. As you walk around, whether winter or summer you will not believe how truly breathtaking every moment will be.
