Rebuilt completely in 2006, CAYMAN STEAD is a beachfront 2 bedroom, 2 bath luxury condo. It sleeps 6 comfortably with its 2 king beds as well as a queen sofa. There is an additional sofa out in the Lanai for that 7th guest.
Beach and Ocean views from every room constantly reminding you that you are in a Caribbean paradise. Each room is newly decorated with Caribbean and Sea art that stands out beautifully against the tiled floors and granite counter tops. The 8 foot glass dining room table allows for a spacious gourmet meal among friends. Fully furnished, the kitchen is stocked with cooking accessories including microwave ovens, toaster ovens, blenders, a coffee pot and dining utensils. Each bedroom tastefully done to make this your home away from home. When we chose our new name after the rebuild, we joked,.. We felt like it was our HomeStead... Our CAYMAN STEAD... Located on a private beach, Cayman Stead also has a new fresh water, outdoor pool. If you are a scuba diver, the famous North Wall (world renowned as one the best barrier reef/dive sites in the world) is just 300 yards off the beach or snorkeling is a few swim strokes away. This is a quieter, more relaxed atmosphere than Seven Mile Beach with restaurants, beach bars and groceries located nearby. Rum Point club, Red Sail Sports (assorted water sport activities) and Cayman Kai are just up the road. You may choose to go to the amazing Sting Ray City, where you can watch, swim with and hand feed up to 60+ stingrays, and only a ten minute boat ride away. You may also go to Seven Mile Beach where you can shop, play golf, enjoy 5-star restaurants or wander around the West Side of the island. Other things to do include sailing, deep sea fishing, wind surfing, parasailing, swimming, duty-free shopping (great jewelry deals!), getting married, walking on the beach, boating, fishing, dancing, playing pool, bar hopping, Island visiting and relaxing.
For a quieter day, you may choose to walk, bike or drive up and down the road and view the numerous, breathtaking seaside mansion of Rum Point and Cayman Kai. North Side is also home to the scenic Botanic Park which consists of a .8 mile nature trail where you can view local plants and trees that are marked and identified. The park is also home to the Blue Iguana captive breeding program.
One might also choose to see over 60 species of exotic birds, Cayman Parrots, Blue Iguanas, Agoutis, Whistling Ducks, Emus, Miniature Ponies and various Turtles at the Cardinal D's Park which is closer to George Town. A trip to Cayman would not be the same without a stop at Cayman's oldest settlement on the island-the East End. A 15 minute drive from North Pointe to the district of East End will allow you to get great photographs of the Blow Holes and to visit the sites of several ship wrecks. There are numerous things to do, you choose -- this is what Cayman Island is all about!!

I love diving and when I visited Cayman, the diving was great. I recently visited this August and can tell you that the diving was fabulous! Since Ivan and also the El Nino days, I was concerned. The diving was better than ever! I was in love all over again!

*Our Story:
Hurricane Ivan destroyed my condo on September 11, 2004. On January 22, 2005, I went back to Cayman to pick up the pieces of what was left of my condo. I had met a woman on the internet that had gathered up some of my possessions and stored them in her home which wasn’t completely destroyed. So, I went to meet her, gather up my things and help her with some work at her home. She had a BBQ the day I arrived and had invited some of the contractors that were doing reconstruction work for Cable and Wire. That is where I met Paul, who is my husband today. We walked through a doorway in opposite directions at the same moment and the rest is history (and a darn good story of how something so awful as a hurricane could lead to something so great). On February 22, 2005, Paul gathered up all his lively possessions from his home in New Jersey (He is originally from Watertown, NY) and arrived in Michigan. Having worked throughout 42 states in our nation during his career, it was the first time he had ever stepped foot in Michigan. We got married June 17, 2006 and we, together, went through the rebuild and final refurnishing of everything in our CAYMAN STEAD condo at the August 2006 for 9 grueling days of work. We hope you love our condo like we do and can appreciate why it has found such a dear place in our hearts. Please remember to sign our memory book and let us know about your stay!

Jackie- We had a great time at CaymanStead! It is a very nice condo and there is so much to do on Grand Cayman. The condo is just as pictured in your VRBO description and the grounds are kept up very well. The condo is perfect. It had everything we needed for a relaxing vacation. Jackie provided great information about where to get provisions, which dive shop to use, restaurants etc. We stayed for 11 nights and it felt like home.

Thank you for the use of your condo, it was a fabulous week with my family we wished for nothing more than the sound of the beach and going to rum point to go in the water every day. The condo was clean, had everything we needed, great pool area, and had a wonderful view of the ocean! I will highly reccommend this condo to my family and friends who wish to vacation in Grand Cayman. We went in May and were the only ones in the complex for part of the week it was liking having the whole place to ourselves! Thank you for your prompt replys to our questions and the great information on where to visit, dive,and eat.
