This charming house, with landscaped garden is just 1 km from the center of Sag Harbor, the "un-Hampton." It is in a very quiet neighborhood where you can see stars and hear crickets. Your children can play safely in the back yard. It is a two minute walk to a small, free boat launch in the Sag Harbor cove and a 15 minute walk into town.

Sag Harbor is an old whaling town settled in 1707, much of its architecture in tact. There are lovely independently owned shops, bookstores, an Indy movie theatre and a live theatre company. It is half way between the resort towns of East Hampton and Southampton with a much more casual feel. We are 5 minutes from a bay beach 15 minutes from an ocean beach; 20 minutes from a fresh water pond perfect for very young children.

The house has wide plank pine floors throughout the first floor, a full chef's kitchen and a lovely dining area with a table large enough for 8. The living room has a large fireplace, 27 inch TV with DVD player and comfortable seating for 7. The master bedroom, surrounded by views of the garden, has a queen bed, TV, desk and skylight. The downstairs bathroom has a tub/shower combination. There are two bedrooms upstairs, each with a queen bed and a dresser. One bedroom has a writing desk, TV and cozy seating; the other has a daybed for an extra guest. The 2nd floor bathroom has a glass shower stall and a garden view. Books, art and child-friendly games are available.

The garden surrounds the house and provides a green screen from all the neighboring houses. The table on the deck seats 8 and provides a perfect vantage point for all the birds who visit the property.

  • TV (No Cable/Satellite) (2) : TVs in 2 bedrooms receive signal through cable connection but only receive regular broadcast channels.

  • Full Kitchen: All amenities, including cappuccino machine and ample counter space. Electric cook top and oven, toaster, toaster oven, cuisinart, electric mixer, blender, etc. etc. Everything a well prepared chef could want.
  • Cooking Utensils Provided: The kitchen contains good quality knives and pots and pans, including a roasting pan and rack, a lobster pot, and baking dishes. Many of the dishes and serving ware are hand made.

  • Charcoal BBQ Grill: Both a large sized and a small sized Weber grill are available, stored in the garage, ready for barbecues on the patio.

  • Lanai: Patio joins house to garage and leads to the back garden. Table and chairs offer lovely opportunity for an afternoon drink.

  • Telephone: There is phone service in the house. Please, no international calls.
  • Free Long Distance: US phone service and long distance is included. International calls are VERY EXPENSIVE, so please avoid them.
  • WiFi (Wireless Internet): Bring your own computer with wireless card and use our secure wireless network.
• Other Amenities
  • This is a perfect place for a family vacation. Beach equipment, including umbrellas, chairs, mats, boogie boards and sand toys are provided. There are children's books and toys available, plus games for the whole family. The back garden is a perfect place to play frisbee or croquet.

  • Kid Friendly: We have a booster chair with tray for the under 2 year olds. There are crayons, drawing materials, toys, games, books, etc. for children of all ages. There are children-sized life preservers in the garage for those planning trips on the water. Materials are provided about the various children's activities in the area.
