THE CABIN. Peaceful and serene is how our guests always describe Rushing Waters Cabin, a 1200 square foot rustic cabin sitting just feet from a rushing, meandering creek -- in a MAGNIFICENT SETTING! The creek borders the heavily-wooded 2-acre lot for 250 feet! Enjoy the views and sounds of the creek from the many decks, or the sleeping porch with its futon and gas fireplace, or from the comfort of the window seat or the comfy leather sofa in the living area, with its huge stacked-stone, wood-burning fireplace. The creek is lit for evening enjoyment. There is also an outdoor firepit to enjoy a cozy fire off the deck and an outdoor dining area. If you are at the cabin after a good rain you'll enjoy a roaring creek that looks like a terraced waterfall - lots of white water - its just wild! If you have ever stayed creekfront, you know that no location compares or is more relaxing. If you haven’t stayed creekside, you HAVE TO experience it ... and this is as good as it gets!
The cabin is located amongst a forest of tall trees and is heavily shaded creekside. The creekside is usually cool. Because of the creek and our elevation (about 1500 feet) its always cooler here - even in summer.
The cabin itself is very rustic, with cedar tongue and groove throughout, giving it the cozy, mountain feel you want for your mountain vacation. A massive stone fireplace in the living room enhances the mountain cabin experience. Executive lodgings with rustic appeal. It is decorated with style and comfort in mind (not country or plaid!). In the open living area you will find a comfy fine leather sofa and club chair and an 8-foot window seat that overlooks the creek. Indoor dining seats 4-6 and outdoor dining seats 6. Cabin has 2 bedrooms and 2 baths and sleeps 4 in beds: the master bedroom has a king bed with a full bath, plus a RealFlame electric fireplace; the second bedroom has a queen log bed. Window seat is comfy and can hold 1 adult or 2 small kids; full-size futon on the screened sleeping porch is available for those who want to "camp in comfort" in front of the gas fireplace, or bring in the futon mattress to sleep inside in front of the wood fireplace.
Nothing but the best for our guests. High-count linens, plush towels, throws and blankets, lots of pillows; washer/dryer provided; kitchen is fully-equipped. Central air and heat. Games, cards, puzzles and books too. All the comforts of home. Our guests always comment on how we have "everything"!
We have all the tech toys too offering you the best of both worlds! Satellite television is provided in the living room and each bedroom (you even have TIVO on the living room TV!). And who says you can’t mix work and play? As much as we love secluded mountain living, we know you need technology sometimes. UNLIMITED LONG DISTANCE and DIAL UP INTERNET on your computer (bring your laptop). We also provide a printer/fax.
PETS ALLOWED. But not to worry --- home is aired out regularly and super clean - smells fresh and clean, no mustiness or pet odor. No additional fees or deposits for pets.
SHORT-TERM RENTAL. Cabin is now available for month-to-month rental at special rate. 3-5 month rental available November to March. Contact us for details.
NEARBY ATTRACTIONS. There are so many beautiful places and wonderful mountain experiences waiting for you here in the Lake Chatuge area!

Not to mention, nearby horseback riding, hiking trails, and great mountain and antique shopping. Whitewater rafting and stunning waterfalls are also an hour or 2 away. Other nearby cities include Asheville, Chimney Rock, Lake Lure and Highlands. Plan to stay awhile ... there’s so much to do! We’ll give you all the details!
HOW TO GET HERE. Fly into Atlanta or Asheville and rent a car for a scenic 2 1/2-hour drive to the cabin. YOu can also come in through Tennessee or Asheville. Hayesville also has a shuttle service (last time we checked) that takes you to and from the Atlanta airport for about $75.
