1200 square THE SETTING. Peaceful and serene is how our guests always describe Rushing Waters Cabin, a foot rustic cabin sitting just feet from a rushing, meandering creek -- in a MAGNIFICENT SETTING! The creek borders the heavily-wooded 2-acre lot for 250 feet. The cabin is strategically placed where you get the best view of the creek. If you have never stayed creekside - this is the way to go -- creek runs right next to cabin and you hear it rushing all the time -- so relaxing.
Enjoy the views and sounds of the creek from the sleeping porch with its futon and gas fireplace, or from the comfort of the window seat or the comfy leather sofa in the living area, with its huge stacked-stone, wood-burning fireplace. The creek is lit so you can enjoy it in the evenings. There is also an outdoor firepit to enjoy a cozy fire off the deck and an outdoor dining area overlooking the creek. If you're at the cabin after a good rain you'll enjoy a roaring creek.
The cabin is located amongst a forest of tall trees and is heavily shaded creekside. The creekside is usually cool. Because of the creek and our elevation (about 1500 feet) its always cooler here - even in summer.
THE CABIN. The cabin is rustic, with cedar tongue and groove throughout, giving it the cozy, lodge feel you envision for a 'mountain cabin.' Modern open--plan living area, massive stone fireplace. Executive lodgings with rusic appeal. Cabin is decorated with style and comfort in mind (not grandmas's plaid sofa).
In the open living area you will find a comfy fine leather sofa and club chair , plus an 8-foot window seat that overlooks the creek. Indoor dining seats 4-6 and outdoor dining seats 6. Cabin has 2 bedrooms and 2 baths and sleeps 4 in beds: the master bedroom has a king bed with a full bath, plus an electric fireplace; the second bedroom has a queen log bed. Quality beds are super comfortable. Window seat can sleep 1 adult or 2 small kids; full-size futon on the screened sleeping porch is available for those who want to 'glamp' by the creek..
Nothing but the best for our guests. High-count linens, plush towels, throws and blankets, lots of pillows; washer/dryer provided; kitchen is fully-equipped. Central air and heat. Games, cards, puzzles and books too. All the comforts of home. Our guests always comment on how we have 'everything'!
Satellite television with DishTV 200+ channels and DVR available in the living room and both bedrooms. UNLIMITED LONG DISTANCE. Broadband finally reached our area -- Wi-Fi Internet available on site soon - please inquire.
PETS ALLOWED. We welcome your pets. No additional fees or deposits at this time. And not to worry --- home is aired out regularly and super clean - smells fresh and clean, no mustiness or pet odor.
Small children are OK but you MUST supervise them at all times.
NEARBY ATTRACTIONS. There are so many beautiful places and wonderful mountain experiences waiting for you here in the Lake Chatuge area!
LAKE CHATUGE, the Jewel of the Mountains, is undoubtedly the most beautiful lake in the mountain area. It provides ample opportunities for waterside dining and excellent fishing and boating (boat and water toy rentals available). (10 minutes)
The great lakeside town of HIAWASSEE GA, with its beautiful views of Lake Chatuge, its lakeside restaurants and its funky shops (15 minutes)
The picturesque alpine village of HELEN GA with lots of nice dining and shopping, plus tubing on the river in summer.(30-40 minutes)
HIAWASSEE RIVER where you can tube or kayak down the lazy river
Excellent FISHING on Lake Chatuge and Tuni Creek nearby.
GOLF at one of the beautiful mountain golf courses nearby -- The Ridges, Chatuge Shores or Brasstown Resort (5-25 minutes).
Not to mention, nearby horseback riding, hiking trails, and great mountain and antique shopping. Whitewater rafting and stunning waterfalls are also an hour or 2 away. Other nearby cities include Asheville, Cherokee, Highlands, Chimney Rock, Lake Lure and Galinburg. Plan to stay awhile ... there’s so much to do ! We’ll give you all the details!
HOW TO GET HERE. Fly into Atlanta or Asheville and rent a car for a scenic 2 1/2-hour drive to the cabin. You can also come in through Tennessee or Asheville.

What a wonderful cabin! Decorated beautifully, comfortable, quiet and secluded. Best part was the creek running so close to the cabin. Water was rushing the whole time we were there. We rode motorcycles and wished there would have been a massage showerhead in the shower for the sore muscles. The road for Compass Creek Dr. was a very narrow road, only one car can travel at a time, and is about a mile into the woods after leaving the main road. We rode our bikes into Helen, Georgia and the mountains were beautiful. Alpine village is definitely worth seeing.Recommended for: Age 55+, pet owners, families with teenagers, girls getaway, adventure seekers, romantic getaway, families with young children, sightseeing.
Owner response: So glad you enjoyed the cabin and all the natural beauty and attractions in the area. The creek just roars after a rain and you were lucky to be able to enjoy that. Both bathrooms now have a massage showerhead.

One of the most peaceful and relaxing locations I have ever stayed. The lull of the stream, the wooded location and the absence of traffic was wonderful. Naps and reading on the screened in porch by the creek took all worries away for a few days. The house had all that we needed. We also enjoyed a dinner at The Copper Door in Hayesville. It was excellenet. I would love to come back again. Thank you for sharing this wonderful place. Definitely a little slice of heaven!Recommended for: Age 55+, romantic getaway, families with young children.

My husband and I decided at the last minute to take a long weekend and drive up to the mountains. Because we booked at the last minute, our choices were few and far between. I found this cabin and it happened to be open for the two days needed....and boy am I glad. This cabin was awesome. Not too new, not too rustic, just right for a mountain house. The name "Rushing Waters" is perfect. The sound and view of the creek is so relaxing. The screened in porch with futon and gas fireplace is a perfect touch to be able to still enjoy the creek on chilly mornings or evenings. The king size bed in the master bedroom was extremely comfortable and welcoming after a long day out in the woods. It was in a great location too. We drove to Helen, GA for a night of Oktoberfest and then hit the Blue Ridge for a scenic drive the next day. We will definitely be back and would highly recommend it to anyone considering the rental.Recommended for: Age 55+, pet owners, adventure seekers, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

Had a great time at the cabin. Loved the location and the creek. You are so close to many places when you stay here. Only one problem and that was we had to leave and go back to the real world. Thanks againRecommended for: Age 55+, pet owners, families with teenagers, girls getaway, adventure seekers, romantic getaway, families with young children, sightseeing.

ALL THOUGH STAY WAS GREAT, THEY WHERE MANY MICE, THAT EAT OUR FOOD IN PANTRY. A GAS GRILL WAS LISTED, AND NOT IN WORKING USE, WHICH WAS UN EXCEPTABLE. I CHOOSE NOT TO MAKE A DEAL OF TELLING OWNER. AND MY KINDS IN OVERLOOKING FALSE WAS UNJUSTELY PAID TO ME. I HAVE BEEN ACCUSED OF BLOWING UP THE MICROWAVE, AND THAT IT WOULD TAKE NOT ONLY MY DEPOSIT TO COVER DAMAGES. BUT WOULD COST TWICE AS MUCH AS THE DEPOSIT TO REPLACE. WHICH IS VERY UNTRUE. I LEFT THE CABIN IN PERFECT CONDITION, CLEANING ALOT MYSELF, AND EVEN HAVE PICTURE UPON DEPARTURE. TO PROVE SO. IT WAS SAID THAT THE MICROWAVE WAS BLOWN UP BEING ALL BLACK INSIDE AND THAT I HAD PLACED METAL IN THIS UNIT TO BLOW IT UP, TOLD TO OWNER BY HER OWN CLEANING PERSON. WHEN I NOT ONLY TRIED TO DEFEND MYSELF WITH OWNER, THAT I AM MIDDLE AGED PERSON AND HAD MICROWAVE SINCE EARLY 80'S, ALSO OWNING MY OWN HOMES FOR YEARS, NEVER PUT ANYTHING IN THAT MICROWAVE BUT PAPER PLATES, WITH NAPKINS, AND IT WAS CLEANED AFTER EACH USE. I HAVE BEEN FALSE ACCUSED AND CHARGED BY OWNER MY FULL DEPOSIT . I AM VERY UPSET AT BEING FALSELY ACCUSED, AND UNFAIRLY CHARGED MONEYS. LOGIC WOULD TELL THAT THINGS BLOW-UP SOME TIMES WITH NO MISUSE DONE TO THEM. THIS WAS VERY UNFAIR. I WAS PLANING ON BEING A RETURN CUSTOMER FOR YEARS TO COME, AND HAD SHARED INFO ON CABIN WITH APPROX 15 OTHER COUPLES INTERESTED THAT I PERSONALY KNOW, AND THIS RUINED IT FOR ALL. SIGNED AFAIRD TO TRUST GOING BACK TO THIS CABIN. I HAVE RENTED PLACES BEFORE FOR MANY YEARS AND HAVE NEVER BEEN ACCUSED OF ANYTHING BEING WRONG, NOT ONE TIME. I FEEL THAT I HAVE BEEN TAKEN ADVANTAGE OF WRONGLY ACCUSED OF WRONG DOINGS. BUT, CABIN WAS OLDER, BUT STILL NICE, WITH A GREAT VIEW.Recommended for: Pet owners, adventure seekers, sightseeing.
Owner response: This is one of those rare, unfortunate events that led to our keeping someone's deposit. We are not in business to keep people's deposit and don't like having to do that. Mice are rare but when they do happen we try to take care of it right away - in this case mice were seeking shelter during a heavy rainy period. Considering that the property is in the forest, these little "creature" quirks are to be expected sometimes - there are few if any creatures to worry about considering the wilderness that surrounds the cabin.

Had a really great time, pictures do not do the cabin justice as it has beautiful scenerary and creek. Our god daughters loved catching lighting bugs, frogs and lizards with help of GodMother. They were sad to have to leave but will have great memorys of the vacation. Also we had such a great time we are looking at times in September to be able to walk the trails and enjoy the mountains and shopping and alone time ater having two girls with us on this trip. We plan on making Rushing Waters our regular vacation spot and would reccomend this cabin to family, friends at any time. Stu, Teresa and god daughters.=)Recommended for: Age 55+, people with disabilities, pet owners, families with teenagers, adventure seekers, romantic getaway, families with young children, sightseeing.

The house is cozy and perfectly equipped, we especially loved the window seat for reading and listening to the creek. The location is great since it is an easy drive to Ingles and historic downtown Hayesville - but you still feel very secluded and away from it all. A big factor as well was how responsive the owners have been in the whole process of booking, directions and any questions we had - quick response time and extremely helpful. We are definitely taking friends out there and will book it again for weekend get aways. Enjoy it!Recommended for: Age 55+, families with teenagers, girls getaway, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

What a wonderful week in a beautiful setting.......a time to exhale and unwind. The cabin was so clean, relaxing and situated so perfectly to catch the charm of the property. We felt so at peace beside the 'rushing waters'. We visited with friends from 40 years past and loved every minute we were there. We will be back, next time for a longer stay.Recommended for: Age 55+, adventure seekers, romantic getaway.
