This charming home is located in Sarasota's finest area. It is "OLD SARASOTA" the setting is fabulous and very private. Its landscaping is very lush,and green. The house is very spacious and comfortable. There are 6 sets of french doors bringing the outdoors to the interior house.
There are also large terraces opening from the bedrooms and kitchen It boasts a 70' tall southern oak, a royal poinciana, which blooms in spring with huge 'bouquets' of flame red flowers, and of course palm trees.
The pool is heated, has therapy jets,and a sheer descent water feature. Siesta Key beach, one of Florida's finest, is known for its white sand like sugar, is a few minutes drive.
It is in a very quiet cul de sac, yet is a 5 minute walk to an upscale mall. There is a wonderful food market, as well as a Barnes and Noble within walking distance. Restaurants abound. Sarasota has its own Ballet company, Opera, and Theater company. You can sun and swim by day, and at night have the finest entertainment. Golf is well represented with over 80 courses in the area.
And lastly, Sarasota is gorgeous. Its bay has Caribbean green water and is simply eye candy to look at. Sarasota is a unique city with museums and out door cafes to please. It makes for a fun-filled vacation any time of the year. Also, Disney World is only an 1 1/2 hours away.

I went with my husband and we had a wonderful time. Everything was in perfect shape and the home is close to everything. The airport is about 10 minutes away. The pool is so relaxing and warm. I loved listening to the waterfall on the side of the pool. The kitchen had a great selection of pots and pans and the back deck was great. We will go there again soon.
Recommended for:Girls getaway, age 55+, romantic getaway.
Charming older home but some problems

Owner is very sweet. She made an error and double booked our first night and put us up in another smaller property (but at same price). Wi Fi was not working. Owner unable to help and comcast eval indicated service intact and said was probably a router problem. Grill dirty and gas tank empty when we got there, light bulbs burned out and no replacements on site... Home needs some maintenance (ex: missing one of two shower doors, wobbly kitchen faucets, broken outdoor chair seat etc). Large TV with no DVD in Master and tiny TV with DVD but no cable in livingroom. On the other hand, very relaxed home with many indoor and outdoor spaces. Large fridge, nice pool which is cleaned weekly, lots of beach towels, laundry, good recs from owner regarding local beaches and location was great-easy access to downtown and to the bridge to the beach. Once we got settled and made our peace with the above problems we had a grand time. Sarasota is awesome. Would do it again.
Recommended for:Sightseeing, adventure seekers, girls getaway, age 55+, families with teenagers, families with young children.
