This French country style house on 2 acres of rolling country sits in a beautiful, relaxed setting with a full size sunken pool and brick patio. The property is near local golf courses, horseback riding, and cross-country skiing in the winter. It is a short ride to Hyde Park and the Franklin D. Roosevelt Museum, and there are many local antique shops for those who like to browse.
House Description: There are 5 rooms, all with windows that look out on beautiful, serene country scenes. The front door leads into a foyer and the stairs to the basement.
The step-down living room is light and airy and has a working fireplace with French doors leading to the patio. The furnishing includes a couch with a pull-out full size double bed, and a chair that can be turned into a rest-chair and TV. There are side tables, lamps, a coffee table, fireplace, equipment and screen.
The spacious dining room has a table and chairs that seats eight comfortably. It is wired in one corner of the room for internet access. Four large glass and metal cabinets against one wall can hold china and glassware as well as interesting artefacts. The windows look out toward the pond and huge old weeping willows.
There are 2 airy bedrooms both have large windows: The Master bedroom has a closet, a queen-size bed, bed lamp, a double bureau, a nightstand, a TV on a table, and a chair. The Second bedroom has a closet, 2 twin size beds plus bureau, a nightstand, lamp, and a chair.
The bathroom also has a window; plus a Jacuzzi tub, separate stall shower, a long mirror above a counter with a set-in sink; and a lot of shelves and cabinet space. There is an outside lavatory room, with sink, next to the patio near the pool.
The large square kitchen has both a window and back door. Equipment includes a dishwasher, new refrigerator with freezer, full size stove with oven, a microwave oven, a new pots and pans, utensils, and new glassware, There is a washer and dryer in the basement.
The basement also holds the oil burner and other equipment for the building.. Garage: Half the garage can be used to park one car.. The other half of the garage has been made into an art studio for the owner�s use when the house is vacant.
