We love the Island,and I like to salt water fish.We live in the mountains and enjoy the coast as a warm getaway in the winter.Our family has strong ties to S.C.and this feels like home.
The Unique Benefits at this House
We can do a lot of things outdoors year-round,such as gardening and walking and fishing, because of the temperate climate.It's a quiet,rural setting,perfect for relaxing and close to boat landing for the fisherman and also near to the beach.

We had a wonderful time here on Edisto. The house is very cozy and we felt at home when we walked through the door. Plenty to do even if you have a rainy day. Good books and some board games. The neighborhood is very quiet and peaceful. The house is convienent to the beach, restaurants and shops. Very nice for a day trip to Charleston also. Just like a home away from home.

We stayed at Seabrook Cottage for 4 days recently and it was a GREAT experience. The cottage is just as described - maybe even nicer. It is secluded and quiet. I would recommend it to anyone. We hope to go back again next summer for a full week. All the comforts of home at a great price! Thanks to the owners for sharing this wonderful place!

clean, modern, comfortable cottage. It was exactly as described. Enjoyed the privacy of our own place with all the conveniences of home. Don't wait until the end of your stay to check out Botany Bay, just up the road. I would have stopped in there every day, had I realized how great it was. Would definitely stay here again.

If you like peace and quiet while on vacation, this is the perfect place. With two bedrooms and everything you need in the kitchen, we had a most wonderful girls weekend. I thrive on quiet places in this busy world and we drove down the little drive into the woods to a clearing with this perfect vacation home on it. There is a BBQ grill in the backyard and a private shower to rinse the Ocean water off. Only ten minutes to the beach and the business district! This is about as close as I want to be to all the crowds. We had takeout from the local restaurants and stored leftovers in the fridge for the morning. My friends fiftieth Birthday pary was shared in the privacy of our home away from home atmosphere. The house was easy to find and like I said before, peace and quiet on the screened in front porch was the perfect place to sit and relax after a long day of sight-seeing. Doug and Mary are the best landlords and we only wish we had more time to stay. Please rejunenate your spirit by visiting this perfect little house in the woods of Edisto. A quiet, under-rated place in the world. We have found our annual retreat. Thank you Doug & Mary. See you next Labor Day!

Seabrook Cottage is a cozy house with tons of privacy. Located in a wooded area, off of a dirt road, you are only 10 minutes from the beach, but have the privacy of a secluded lot. The house is very comfortable, complete with outdoor shower and grill. Although we only rented the cottage for three days, we are interested in scheduling another trip. Well worth the expense, the owners are exceptionally thoughtful, and the house is extrememly comfortable. I would recommend it to any friend!

Island Cottage Private Setting

Description and photos were accurate. Clean quiet and with enough space this cottage is just off the main road of Edisto Island. The area is not too built up with a lot of trees and marshes visible as you drive around. We were about 10 minutes from main beach. Botany Bay Nature Preserve had nice grounds and an interesting beach of its own. The serpentinium a few miles from cottage had some wildlife including a number of alligators. Owner was helpful with information about area. Included were 2 bikes and outside shower for washing off sand. We ate at the Pavilion and Whaleys for great seafood sandwiches. The cottage is around the corner from Flowers Seafood stand where they steamed the the shrimp for us. A few miles further up Kings Market stand had to die for pies and other goodies. Close enough to Charleston to spend some hours there. We would recommend this as a getaway to anyone who is considering a coastal vacation.

We rented this lovely little home for the month of February and thoroughly enjoyed our time there. SC has miles of gorgeous beaches and wildlife areas and this home is in the middle of it all. We loved every minute we had in this comfortable, well-maintained home on Edisto Island. It is exactly as pictured. The owners are great to deal with. Enjoy!
