A jewelbox home completely renovated by two artists with large, airy rooms, beautiful bold Mexican colors, Talavera tiles and modern and convenient kitchen. A 40 foot swimming pool off the back terrace offers relaxation and shaded outside area for reading or dining. The main house contains two bedrooms, or one master bedroom and an office with a separate entrance The beds are new and comfortable. All the rooms have ceiling fans and there is air conditioning in the master bedroom suite. In the back garden is a totally separate guest house with tiled bath, a double bed and a closet. All windows are screened.
Public transportation to all points in town within a 3 minute walk. Many restaurants and other necessities within walking distance.
A shady tiled loggia stretches the width of the house in the back. There is a cobalt blue tiled lap pool for swimming or floating, a bubbling fountain for calming energy and a green garden for relaxation. The neighborhood is centrally located yet quiet. Public transportation is conveniently located and restaurants are nearby. Paseo Montejo is 3 blocks away. The house is located in Colonia Garcia Gineres., an art deco section of town. The house is very private, surrounded by a high wall. There is parking for one car within the wall.
Merida is a 450 year old colonial city with much history to enjoy. In the evenings, there is always live music to dance to in a plaza around the city. The central plaza is closed to motorized traffic on weekends and there is live music on every corner and dancing in the streets. There is opera, theater and many cultural events year round for very affordable prices.
Mayan archeological sites dot the countryside along with 200 year old Haciendas, echoes of past glory. The Gulf of Mexico is 25 minutes to the north where many water activities are available plus delicious fish and seafood to eat. To the west in Celestun there is wonderful bird watching in a Bioreserve. Come Stay a week and fall in love... This vacation home is also for sale.

Why the Owner Chose Merida
I chose this section of town because of the ease of walking to wherever I need to go without all the crowds and hustle and bustle of the narrow sidewalks in el Centro. Life is easier in this section of town, quieter and cooler.
The Unique Benefits of this House
When I am staying at my home in Merida, I feel like I have stepped into a sweet place where life slows down, the days are long and languid and the nights are warm and full of friends and music. I relax and then when I come back to the United States I feel as though like I have been a million miles away and had hours of therapy. Mexico has been one of my reality checks for the last 50 years and i feel very grateful to be able to go to Merida and be in my house and to remember.
