Casa Betti di Frontignano is a country house, in Umbria, located in a 13th century small village named Frontignano. The house is located approximately 7 km from the lovely old traditional medieval hill top town of Todi.
The house, with breathtaking views of the surrounding countryside, is on an acre of land filled with fruit and walnut trees. The village of Frontignano is very small and picturesque with rows of olive trees, vineyards and sunflower fields in the summer months. The people who live in the villate have been there for years and live off their land. Some work and attend school in nearby Perugia and Rome. The center of the little village has a small Piazza with a monument to the local men who lost their lives in World War II. At the end of the Piazza, is a 19th century church where mass is held on Sunday morning and Wednesday evening.
Casa Betti di Frontignano has been completely restored with modern amenities but remains a country house. It is a perfect place for someone who would like to experience the rural countryside of Umbria. It sits in an ideal position that enables you to visit other nearby hill top towns such as Orvieto, Assisi, Spoleto and the capital of Umbria, Perugia. It is easily accessible to small quaint villages such as San Terenziano, Grutti, Pian de Porto, Ponto Rio and many others that are within 4 km from Casa Betti di Frontignano. These towns have restaurants, cafes, banks, hair salons, supermarkets, flower shops and gas stations. There is also a quaint antique store in the village of Izzelini. In addition to those small towns, the house is 20 km from the wine country of Umbria situated in Montefalco. Spello and other local wineries around the countryside of Todi are also worth exploring. Located just one hour from the Tuscany border, the house is ideally situated to visit the lovely towns of Cortona and Sienna. It is also two hours to Florence, one and one half hour to Rome and two hours to the sandy beaches of Montalto di Castro Marina located on the Mediterranean Sea.
