I had my bridal shower at this home, and it was the perfect place! There was plenty of room for around 30 guests, but it still retained a homy feeling as well as a sense of class and refinement. The house is beautiful, and everyone really enjoyed themselves. Thank you for such lovely accommodations and happy memories!

My daughter who lives in the Paradise Valley and works in Yellowstone recently got married in Mammoth YNP. We live in Denver so we needed a place where several of our family could stay and have room to finish up last minute wedding details. Eight of my family members trekked to the house with many boxes in tow. We had plenty of room - the table was perfect for gathering to eat dinner, finishing the gift boxes and putting together the programs. There were also plenty of bathrooms for everyone to get ready the day of the wedding. I absolutely recommend staying at this house if you have the opportunity. It was large, very clean, comfortable and only a few miles outside of Gardiner. It would be a great house to have a family reunion at because there was plenty of outside space for gathering or playing games or sitting around just visiting. Thank you so much for creating this oasis for people to stay in and feel at home in. We will definitely stay again if the opportunity arises.

The house is lovely, huge and clean. The location is spectacular, with local wildlife and views of both Electric Peak and Sepulchre Mountain. Thanks so much!
Owner response:East of Electric Peak, across the deeply cut valley of Reese Creek, lies Sepulchre Mountain, so called from a mass of breccia on one of its high northwest spurs, which resembles a sarcophagus. The mountain rises to a height of 9,600 feet, and stands isolated from the surrounding peaks, from which it is separated by geological faults and also by deep drainage channels. It is composed of volcanic breccias and massive lavas that form a body of rock 3,000 feet thick, resting on Cretaceous and older strata. The southern and southwestern slopes of the mountain are rounded from the action of the ice which has passed over the mountain from the Gallatin range. They are mostly covered with grass and sage brush, and present comparatively few rock exposures. This is also the character of the hills and ridges southwest of the mountain, which lie east of the fault at the base of Electric Peak, and form part of the geological body of Sepulchre Mountain.

"Our family of six have been truly blessed to have been given the opportunity to stay at this wonderful home. We all enjoyed our time here immensely, and, if we should ever be lucky enough to return to this area, we would not hesitate to stat here again. The house has a charm and character all its own. The kids loved the pronghorn that lives down the road. He was always there to greet us on our way to and from the Park. The kids even named him and looked for him every time. We saw tons of animals in the Park. Hundreds of buffalo, a lot of elk and deer, several grizzlies and black bears, and even a wolf! Thank you for being part of our vacation!"

"We have returned to the Historic Home after our first stay of July 2009. Once again, we felt at peace at this beautiful home. We felt very blessed and fortunate to be able to spend with some of our children and grandchildren and to make this 4th of July a very special one. Thank you for letting us share this lovely place that we care for so much!"

We had a great stay here! It's a nice house and a great area. The bunnies were very cute! The house has so many exciting features + was really fun to explore. The beds were comfortable + and made for a good night's sleep. The everyday items kept here made our stay most enjoyable. The kids loved the bunk bed. The movie selection was nice for an after dinner activity at the end of a long day in Yellowstone National Park. The books and pamphlets about Yellowstone were very helpful and fun to look at. Overall, we had a wonderful experience! THANKS A MILLION

A lovely place and so close to the Park. The amenities were wonderful, so comfortable and an-at- home feeling. We had a very happy time here, and thank you so much for your hospitality. If we ever are so fortunate, we will stay here again. We found everything and more than we needed for a comfortable stay. P.S The Park is gorgeous too as are the grounds surrounding your house"

The listing description and pictures are very accurate. The property inside and out is clean, well maintained and comfortable. Great views! Shade trees. I saw buffalo, prong horn sheep, deer and elk. I would certainly recommend this home to my family and friends. Very close to Yellowstone Park and Gardiner. White water rafting and site seeing were lots of fun.

Our group of 8 really enjoyed this beautiful vacation rental. The highlight was seeing a grizzly bear in the yard. Thankfully they are as afraid of us as we are of them. He ate the berries and headed off the next day but what a treat for all of us to see him up close. My only suggestion for us city folks would be night lights in the bathrooms. We are used to more light living in the city so it's very dark. We loved them home and would have liked to have stayed longer.

Thank you for allowing us to celebrate our parent’s 50th Anniversary in this lovely home! It was a perfect home base for our group of 9 - you thought of every comfort! Thank you for sharing your home with us. The home was immaculate and cozy, with plenty of room for all of us to relax at the end of each day. We especially loved the outdoor seating for breakfast while watching the antelope crossing the open space just across the road! Lovely. Thank you again for an absolutely wonderful stay!

A beautiful place to stay for our family clan from Nebraska! Thanks for a special place to stay-our scenic "Yellows House" was a great place to hang out from all our trips back and fort from Yellowstone. We even learned a little bit of history of the area while staying here! God's blessings to you and all you stay here! Thanks!

We couldn't have chosen a more lovely place to stay for our trip to Yellowstone. Our family of 10 was well provided for. Our kids range in age from 3mos. to almost 16 and they all enjoyed our "yellow home". We also own an old Victorian and are taking some ideas of your wonderful remodeling with us. Everything here was thought of - such the highchair to laundry detergent to toys for the little ones. Thanks for all the personal touches -- no hotel could EVER compare!

We were a party of 15 people and stayed at the house for 6 days. The house was spacious and well equipped. The owner was quick to respond when one of the rooms got locked from inside. Our kids enjoyed playing with the toys and watching the movies whenever we were at home. We thoroughly enjoyed the home and hope to come back again sometime. Thanks Maricruz.
Owner response:Dear Anika, It was a pleasure to have you and your beautiful family at the Yellowstone Historic Home; it was very nice to meet you too. Thank you for taking care of the house the way you did, I really appreciate it. Come back soon! MZ

The house is very spacious with a nice kitchen and dining room. The seven of us stayed for a week and we didn't seem crowded. Th gravel road from the house to Gardiner and the highway had many different types of animals which we enjoyed. There was no hot water the first night, but that problem was fixed very quickly. We ate all our meals except lunch at the house. The kitchen was missing a few utensils that we would have liked to use (like a potato masher), but the outdoor grill was great and we used it 4 or 5 times.
Owner response:Dear Mary, I got the potato masher! Thank you for letting me know about this. You are welcome to send me a list of missing utensils and I'll buy them right away as I did with the hair dryers you asked me about; we care about the needs of our dear guests. It was a pleasure to have you at the Yellowstone Historic Home. Thanks again! MZ

We loved staying at the Historic Home. The house is very clean and large, there was plenty of room for everybody. The children loved the large back yard; there was a lot of deer and rabits around. The adults enjoyed the spectacular views of the Electric Peak. We'll love to come back soon.

We stayed for a week in early spring and despite the April snows, we were warm and comfortable. The house is spacious and well furnished. The house has quite a history and pictures of the early days made it seem more interesting. My seven year-old daughter was fascinated by all the animals in the area and several deer went to sleep outside her window. The view of Electric Peak is spectacular and it felt like we were in Yellowstone instead of just outside of it. Lots to do in the area if you like the outdoors. We'll be back!

Our family of 8 stayed at the house for 4 days. We needed a place where we could be together as a family and still have "space" away from each other. My husband was home from Iraq on his 2 week K-R so we decided to live out a dream of ours and visit Yellowstone. We had a wonderful time in the park and then headed back to the house for dinner. It was great to relax around the table. We loved the Historic Home. It is designed almost like our Historic Home. The kids would love to come back next summer. I guess we will have to see where the wind blows us.

Our family reunion was a big succes largely in part to your wonderful home. Everyone enjoyed the roominess, the big table was great for games and gab fests. I don't see my parents and sisters that often so thsi was a great convenient half way point. We would recomend it to our friends for sure. We will take many good memories from our travels in Yellowstone - the magnificent scenery, awesome wild life and one-of-a kind sights (the old Faithful) Thank you for opening up your home to us. Sincerely, the G. family (Toledo, Ohio)

Our family has greatly enjoyed staying in the Yellowstone Historic Home. It has outdone all our expectations. Our kids had plenty of room to roam and they loved the "kids bunk bedroom. We were surprised to see how quick our acces to the Park was from the house! It has been a great place to come "home" to after a day at the Park. Thank you for sharing such a wonderful home. Thank you for allowing us to stay in this home. It had all of the convienences of home - with quaint little touches throughout. We saw elk and bunnies in the yard and a beautiful double rainbow over the mountains. Every morning was crisp and clear and every evening was star-filled and quiet. Thanks again! Debra, family of 8 (which slept comfortably with plenty of room for privacy).
