For many visitors, Maui is a dream vacation, but experiences can vary. We believe the Kealia resort and our ocean view unit offer a number of attractive features for your vacation that include a beautiful, uncrowded beach, great views, central location to major attractions, and air conditioning for your comfort.

Kealia is situated directly on uncrowded Sugar Beach. At 3.5 miles in length, it is the longest beach on Maui. The resort offers a relaxed atmosphere and an assortment of family water activties without the concerns found at some Maui beaches such as: strong waves, dangerous currents, sharp coral, large rocks, and crowds from cruise ships or mega resorts.

Located on the top floor of the Kealia resort, ours is one of the few units at the resort that offers both beautiful views of Sugar Beach as well as a panoramic, unobstructed view of West Maui. From our lanai, you can whale watch during the winter months or watch canoe races or wind surfers year round as you enjoy your meals.

The Kealia resort is also directly adjacent to the Kealia Pond National Wildlife Refuge. As such, there are miles of open and beautiful beach to roam in almost complete solitude or you can participate in nature interpretive programs offered in the refuge.

The resort is conveniently located within a 25 minute drive to such attractions as: Ma'alaea harbor, the Maui Ocean Center, the Iao Needle State Park, the Waliea shops and beaches, the Kealia Pond National Wildlife Refuge, Kuhulini Airport, and the town of Kihei. Snorkeling and spear fishing in coral reefs, which are located around 100 years off shore, is popular with both natives and visitors. There are also popular native surf fishing spots as well as the Maui Canoe Club located within walking distance to the resort. The world reknown snorkeling site at Molokini crater can be easily seen from our beach. Our location also cuts the travel time to Hana, the Haleakala National Park, and the famous Mama's Fish House restaurant by at least 45 minutes compared to most west Maui resorts.

Central Maui typically receives 30% less annual rainfall than West Maui and cooling trade winds usually develop during summer afternoons.

You can grill steaks or mahi-mahi at the resorts' barbecues located within steps of the beach. If you prefer dining out, there are several excellent restaurants within a 20 minute drive: Roys, the Ruth Chris Steakhouse, Buzzs Wharf Restaurant, the Outback Steakhouse, and several fine ethnic restaurants located in Kihei. A clean and modern Safeway supermarket is located in a shopping mall less than a ten minute drive away from the resort.

Finally, unlike many condos on Maui, our unit is air conditioned.
