Ideal for an extended stay with family or friends, this three-story chalet/cabin has three bedrooms and two baths, accommodating eight to twelve guests in SOLID comfort. Spectacular views of Cacapon & Sleepy Creek mountains await you at this year-round luxury chalet along with all the amenities of home and more. Relax in front of the wood-burning fireplace while enjoying your deluxe entertainment system, including a 36" flat screen TV, complete with Directv satellite service, DVD/VCR player, and stereo with CD player. If the outdoors calls, gather on the covered porch which wraps around to an expansive deck. For your added comfort and convenience, central heat and air, as well as, towels, bed linens, and washer and dryer are included.

Meals are easy to prepare in the chalet's full kitchen, complete with dishwasher, microwave, and cooking utensils, or you may choose to use the outdoor grill for barbecuing. If you do not want to prepare your meal, the lodge is nearby for a buffet breakfast, quick lunch, or a relaxing dinner as there are several restaurants in the area.

Your chalet is within walking distance of the golf course as well as the local lake for swimming, fishing, and boating. A game of tennis or basketball is also close by, as is horseback riding. Scenic nature trails for hiking wind throughout the area, and in the winter months, downhill and cross-country skiing and snow tubing are nearby.

For ski lovers, the chalet is just a 40-minute drive to White Tail and other ski locations. Other popular sights and activities include the C&O Canal Towpath, Rails to Trails, Paw Paw Tunnel, Cacapon and Potomac River float trips, Civil War Battlefields, and historic Harper's Ferry. The 2500-square-foot chalet offers three levels of beautiful surroundings and views, with windows spanning all three floors. The top level is a spacious loft, dedicated entirely to the expansive master bedroom with king bed, private bath & balcony, view of Sleepy Creek Mountain.

The main level offers an enticing and warm living and dining area, with a fireplace, satellite TV, DVD/VCR player and stereo. A fully equipped kitchen on the main floor includes a dishwasher and microwave, plus the breakfast buffet area. A gas/charcoal grill is also available. Through the kitchen you will find a hall to a second full bath and two bedrooms (queen and twin beds).

Downstairs is the family room with yet another view, a 32-inch satellite television, VCR/DVD player, game table, games, and queen sofa bed, and gym. It still doesn't stop there - there is also a full size washer and dryer for extended stays.

The town of Berkeley Springs offers a delightful blend of mineral spas, art, and antiques. Civil War battlefields, the C&O Canal, Paw Paw Tunnel, Berkeley Spring State Park, Cacapon Resort State Park, and Coolfont Resort are also nearby, giving you plenty of sightseeing opportunities.   • We had a great family weekend at Hummingbird Hill. The house is so comfortable and welcoming! The views from the deck are so nice and the whole area very relaxing. I knew I was in the right place when I saw the Kenneth Koskela art on the stairway wall (I have several of his prints!) . . . We would love to plan another trip so ALL of the family can join us (not everyone made it this time)! Thanks.

  • I rented the Hummingbird Hill retreat to celebrate my parents' 50th wedding anniversary so we had 8 adults and two kids and two dogs staying in the house (and a family of four staying in separate accommodations but visiting for meals and games). We were all comfortable and happy and I think my parents were very pleased with the beautiful upstairs loft-like master suite. A very congenial and attractive retreat for family gatherings hosted by a wonderfully congenial proprietess. Thank you!

  • We were pleased with many of the amenities: fully equipped kitchen, clean throughout, plenty of great sitting areas, fantastic view, plenty of space for a crowd and we liked the fact that we did not have to clean the whole place before we left! The only negative thing was the TV reception was poor (which turned out to be a blessing in disguise since our Mom can't hear and it would have been very loud with the TV on!!). We would also recommend access to the internet (if available in that area). Thank you for sharing your home with with us ~ we have a wonderful time!

    TV reception has been checked and adjusted. The only option in that location is satellite service which is very subject to atmospheric conditions such as storms, sun spots, etc.

  • We had a great time and loved the house. The master bedroom is the best. We could have used more wine glasses (there were only five) and wireless internet would definitely have us back.

  • This is a wonderful, well equipped and beautifully decorated house in a quiet, wooded setting. We had a great weekend celebrating our anniversary. After a stimulating hike in Cacapon State Park we got take-out pizza from Georgie's up the road and relaxed in front of the fireplace. We can't wait to go back!
