Jeff and Kim's Home/ My families new Getaway !!

Guest: Wade (Great Falls, Montana)
Date of Stay: 03/02/12 Review Submitted: 03/15/12

We had never rented someone elses home. All four of my father's children were traveling in for his memorial service. Had we individually rented hotels it would have at the minimum been $400/night with spouses and children. What an absolutely marvelous decision it was to rent this beautiful home. It was my idea and Thank You so much Jeff and Kim for making me the hero. If you walk in the front door, see the panoramic view of Puget Sound through the glass front of this house, and don't just smile in awe of the view, have the person closest to you check your pulse. Three of the bedrooms have glass fronts to the Sound. We drew cards for what order each of us got to pick rooms, there were no losers in that game. Even though the weather was wet and gloomy, the comfort of this home with a fire going/ cooking meals together/playing board games, brought us all closer together and created lasting memories. The pictures on-line just begin to tell the story of this home. Us four haven't shared the same roof for 30+ years and here we had just the right amount of closeness and privacy. We are already talking about when we can all meet in the summer and enjoy the beach front part of this property.

We often rent houses across the country for my business trips and this one was every bit as described. The house provides a 180 degree awe-inspiring view of the water. A walk down to the water surprises you with a giant firepit and a full kitchen/BBQ/Bar. Enjoyed some wonderful steaks as the sun went down. Unbelievable. The beds were all very comfortable and the place had wireless internet, which prompted me to move about the house for various views and comfort. Kitchen was fully stocked and the gated community was very quiet and safe. Needless to say, this was an A+ rental and I'll be back.

Wonderful!

Date of Stay: 07/18/11 Review Submitted: 08/04/11

We are from out of state and chose this home as a family gathering place as our daughter was getting married in the Seattle area. Jeff was very quick to respond to the questions we had before deciding on our stay. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay! You have a beautiful home with a wonderful location and great view! There was plenty of room for our family and everything was very clean and well kept. This was a central location for the activities that we had planned. The property is away from town, but close enough for access to stores for groceries, etc. We had a terrific time and will recommend this location to others. Our daughter's new in-laws are now considering this as a location for an anniversary gathering for their family. Again, thank you for sharing your wonderful home!

Our Great Escape!

Guest: Denise (Arizona)
Date of Stay: 07/09/11 Review Submitted: 07/18/11

What a gorgeous home! Our family of four joined my parents for a week out of the heat and were not disappointed. The minute we walked into the home we were amazed at the endless views. There were 6 of us- 4 adults and 2 teenagers. The layout of this home offered us each a "place of our own" if needed as well as large gathering areas both upstairs and down. Never have I had the opportunity to enjoy such peace and beauty while sitting in a hot tub. What a thrill it was to see the Bald Eagles soaring about in the morning, I believe they were nesting in the trees right in front of the house! While the climb to the beach is not for the faint of heart, it is certainly worth the effort. I didn't want to ever leave that beach area, the new "kitchen" area is fantastic! The only negative we found is the traffic each time we wanted to head in to Seattle, just plan ahead. I will add however that we were there the weekend of the "Bite of Seattle" so that may have accounted for some of the traffic. 6 enthusiastic Thumbs Up for the home on Sunny Shores! Thank you Jeff and family!!

Beautiful home!

Date of Stay: 05/13/11 Review Submitted: 06/01/11

This waterfront home is amazing!! I have been going on a getaway weekend trip with a group of friends for many years and this home is now one of our favorites!! From the moment that the 11 of us ladies arrived, we felt at home and very comfortable in this home. After we arrived, we walked down to the fire pit and thoroughly enjoyed sitting in the chairs, soaking in the sun and gazing out at the water. We spent the next day shopping at the Seattle Premium Outlet Mall which is just a short drive away. I would highly recommend staying in the home. The owner was very nice to work with and the property is just breathtaking. The pictures just don't do it justice. The house is equipped with everything that you would need for a fabulous vacation.

Surprise 60th Birthday - SUCCESS

Guest: Melissa & Family (Bonney Lake, WA )
Date of Stay: 04/01/11 Review Submitted: 05/11/11

I rented this house in April to surprise my mother for her 60th Birthday. What an amazing weekend! We played games on the large dining room table, sat and conversed by the fireplace, took the kids down to the beach and enjoyed a relaxing evening in the hot tub. This house was the perfect size for the 12 of us. Even though the weather was not wonderful, we still had a fabulous time. This was our first time renting a house rather than going to a hotel, and it will defintiely not be our last. Thank you Jeff for making the weekend something we will always remember!

Excellence!

Guest: Captain (Spokane, WA.)
Date of Stay: 03/12/11 Review Submitted: 07/25/11

The word Excellence covers many things. But when I think of Kimm and Jeff’s beach house, this is the word that comes to mind. EXCELLENCE. The views, the sea air, the bald eagles that land in the tree's just off the deck. This is truly a special place. My wife and I have had the privilege of staying at their beach house on two different occasions. Each time was very relaxing. The house is beautiful, the views are stunning and it seems they have thought of everything for a wonderful stay. The deck on the beach was great with the new covered kitchen area that was added since our first stay. BBQ and bonfire, it does not get much better! Kimm and Jeff are great hosts and looking forward to returning some day. Thank you both for sharing your beach house.

Lovely, roomy, clean, fully stocked with cooking needs, bedding and towels. Spectacular views. We spent our 3 days at the house and did not do any attractions nearby. Time down by the water with the firepit was so fun. Could be tricky finding after dark, but otherwise an absolutely comfortable place for family time.

Serene setting engulfed in perfect silence!

Guest: Binford (Port Orchard, Wash.)
Date of Stay: 09/07/10 Review Submitted: 09/11/10

My company holds twice-yearly sales meetings around the country and we rent 5- or 6-bedroom VRBO homes for this purpose. We each stay in our own room and hold meetings in a family room or such and get to spend time with each other cooking together and relaxing in the evenings. It makes for a cost-effective gathering considering what hotel rooms and restaurant bills would total after a week for 5 or 6 guys! We have stayed at six or seven different VRBO homes around the country and this Marysville beach house probably tops them all! The view of Puget Sound from the home is simply spectacular and we were all impressed by the absolute peace and quiet out on the deck watching the sun set in the evenings. Most of my colleagues are from the Midwest, so this was an especially interesting location for them. The house is well-furnished with comfortable accommodations and was very tastefully decorated. If I had to come up with one complaint, it would be the lack of a single large television we could all comfortably gather around, but there were several TVs in the house and we weren't really there to stare at the tube anyway. The wireless internet worked perfectly (usually a problem for us, but not here). There's a nice gas grill on the deck as well as down at the beach along with a fire-pit I wish we'd had time to enjoy. There's even a refrigerator down at the beach, for heaven's sake! Best of all, the owner was very easy to work with and made the process as smooth as could be. We really enjoyed our stay here!

We have stayed in five star resorts allover the US. We had more fun, felt more confortable, and fortunate to have found this amazing, goreous home on the beautiful salt water of the Pacific Northwest. The accomodations were above our expections! The views and beach we enjoyed go down in our photo album and memories as one of the best! Our sons caught 5 crab, we had evening beach fires, roasted smores and generally had a exceptional time! I would book this home in a heart beat! Infact, we are planning a week in the summer, hope it is available. Sincerely, The One Happy Family

Great Family Vacation Home

Guest: himmel (geneseo)
Date of Stay: 08/01/10 Review Submitted: 08/09/10

We had a wonderful time at this Sunny Shores home. It had more than enough room for our four families. The kids enjoyed jet skiing ( recommend Mr. Jet Ski), crab potting, fishing, shell collecting, long walks on the beach, hot tubbing, nights sitting by the awesomely large fire pit, sleeping on the beach watching a family of racoons, enjoying family gatherings on the deck and large kitchen and seal watching. Recommend good beach shoes for the barnacles. Got a good workout going up the 128 steps to the house (27 seconds upstairs family record). Would wholeheartedly recommend this home to anyone.

Fabulous Vacation!

Guest: Dive Mom (Long Beach, CA)
Date of Stay: 07/17/10 Review Submitted: 08/01/10

The description and photos do not do justice to the view from this property. The moment we arrived everyone dropped their bags and went straight to the deck to admire the view. We had nine people in our party ranging from 4 to 72 and everyone had a great time. The first afternoon my brother and husband donned their scuba gear and came out with a full crab limit. The crab pot in the garage was fired up and when the first batch came out the table was surrounded and we ate crab that was swimming in the sea 20 minutes earlier. Yum! On Sunday we all drove to Seattle for the seafood brunch at Salty's and the next day back to Seattle to visit Tillicum Island. Highly recommend taking the boat to Tillicum to enjoy the salmon feast and Indian Dance performance. Our party enjoyed the ferry ride, the traditionally cooked salmon lunch and the performers. The remaining time we stayed closer to home and visited the shopping outlets (had to buy another suitcase to take home our treasures from the great sales), a day at the casino, and several days playing on the beach. The house easily houses large groups and it was nice to have the main area near the kitchen television free. In fact the entire week went by and the younger kids never watched a show, teenagers....well...a couple of shows. The hot tub was very popular with the kids after braving the chilly water at the beach. The house was well stocked with linens and beach towels, condiments, paper goods and coffee. Thanks for the fresh bag! Jeff was easy to work with and made sure we had all the information we needed. My only complaint was not having a curtain to draw in the bedroom with the boat bed. It is hard enough to convince a kid to go to bed on vacation, but even tougher when the sun is still out late into the night. If you have kids make sure to walk up the road and check out the tire swing, My 4 year old is still talking about swinging in the tire. Also, the raccoon that visited us on a daily basis was a big hit. I am sure we are not the first guest to share breakfast with that cute little guy. Thanks again for sharing your beautiful beach house with our family! The Aranda Family

Our Home for Family Renunion

Guest: Carol and family (Oakland, CA)
Date of Stay: 06/19/10 Review Submitted: 07/06/10

This house was amazing between the views, beach and comfort for our family group of 10 from 86 to 3 years old. We enjoyed watching the tides going in and out, starfish and crabs at low tide, rock and shell collecting. There was enough privacy and space for separate gatherings to keep us out of each other's hair while enjoying the family get-together. Our favorite side trips were the Boeing plant and town of Snohomish. Jeff was very attentive to our needs. The house was clean and had everything we needed. Thanks for sharing your beautiful home.

First rate accommodations -- worked especially well for our large group of Ambassador Girl Scouts bridging to the Adult Level. Our final celebration could not have been better! The magazine-worthy home was spotless and there wasn't a thing we needed that we could not find. All of the instructions were clear and Jeff was a delight to deal with. The beach area also works well for a large group -- simply stunning and it made the s'mores taste better! As we were cleaning up, a bald eagle landed 15 feet from the window -- breathtaking! You will LOVE this place!

My husband and I, with our adult children, a spouse and granddaughter, spent a magical week at this beautiful home in late December. The home has three separate sleeping areas and two distinct gathering spaces. Even with eight of us, we enjoyed the remarkable combination of real privacy in addition to warm, welcoming and ample gathering centers. We drank in the ever changing lighting over the water, with the Olympics in the distance; we relished walks on the beach. The home is carefully appointed in charming sea and beach themes. How could one ask for more?

This is the place to find real relaxation. It is set up so people can be outside, inside, playing at the beach or playing family games at the kitchen table. The view will stop your heart. We watched a gillnetter haul his nets, the otters feeding and playing, the seals and sea lions and many, many kinds of birds. The beach area set-up is just unbelievable with its fire pit and chairs. What a place you have Jeff. Thanks so much for sharing with us. You went out of your way to make it comfortable for my family and we can't wait to be back on the decks watching the sunrises and sunsets. Again, thank you and our stay was the best of the best.

This home provided more than enough space for our group of seven woman. It was comfortable, very quiet and relaxing and from the balcony we watched the salmon jumping and the sea otters playing. The location of the home is convenient if you plan to go north to the San Juan Islands, south to Seattle or east to Snolqualmie Falls. We enjoyed this home very much.

This house was more than we expected. Waking up every morning with the Puget Sound in your view was amazing. The whole house, with it's tall glass windows make for the most amazing view, all you see is blue water and trees! Our favorite part was breakfast on the deck. We were watching the Otters frolic on the boat below and right out of the blue swoops a Bald Eagle right past the deck. This was awesome and more nature than we Southern Californian's have ever experienced. Our children and their friends enjoyed the night fire pit gatherings(Smores) and the beach deck. We can't express how grateful we are to have rented your beautiful home. My husband and I think we found our place for retirement..

A small group of us women friends stayed here mid-December 2008. We arrived in a windstorm with 1.5 foot whitecaps and immediately jumped into the hot tub to experience cold heads and hot bodies--we laughed and laughed. The next morning was quiet and grey. We watched two pairs of eagles fishing in the Sound and noisily perching in nearby 80' Douglas Firs. A blanket of snow covered everything overnight, and the next morning was brilliantly sunny and cold (but inside was warm)! The beach house was shiny clean, beautiful, and comfortable. The owner is courteous and responsive. I highly recommend this as a destination for your group or family.

We stayed at this beautiful waterfront home in May 2008. We had a wonderful time. The home is so warm and inviting. We found ourselves drawn to the fire pit and beach. We spent many hours beach combing. We spied otters, seals and bald eagles. We rented a jet ski and played one day up at Kayak Point. We had restful sleep and the most magnificent view every morning. We also learned to grill with cedar planks. Salmon has never tasted so good. Next time we may try a fishing trip when we come back to the beach. The hot tub was a great part of our day especially after jet skiing. Thqank you again for such a lovely and memorable week-end Sincerely The Campbells and Rounds
