  Kathy was wonderful to work with in reserving this house. She met us at the airport and led us to the house. It was everything that the pictures showed. The pool was clean, the outdoor furniture was new and the house was very clean. The views from the house are awesome. We felt very safe staying in this neighborhood. We even went out to take pictures and met a couple of the neighbors. They were very nice people and gave us recommendations of beaches to go to. We like to stay in places where we can prepare our own meals, have a central area to sit and visit and not worry about disturbing the people in the next room. This house met those requirements. We reserved our own cars and were glad that we did, to accomodate our own schedule. Kathy was a big help in making sure they were at the airport for us when we arrived. Magen's Bay is a must see. If you want to go snorkling, go to St. John. We also kayaked in St. Thomas.

  Reading all the different reviews I can see why there are both good & bad comments. The best part of the experience was Kathy the villa manager, she did her best to make our vacation a good experience. When you first arrive the villa seems so out of the way for everything on the Island but once you learn your way around the roads it is not. You must have a car and the one rented with the villa is fine. The views from the villa are amazing. This villa is spacious and all items needed to be comfortable are there. The villa did need some cleaning & could be maintained better. The price of the villa is well below others posted on sites and I do believe it is worth the price. Although there are some issues with the villa overall the 8 of us enjoyed our time at Coral Cay.

  Just got back from vacationing at Coral Cay. If you are looking for a quiet place away from the tourist filled areas, this is a great choice. You are still close to beaches, grocery stores and restaurants and once you get the roads down, it’s only a 30-45 minute drive to the major ports of Charlotte Amalie and Red Hook. We can understand why some people may be concerned at first glance as Caret Bay is in a less populated area and the road to the villa is very curvy, narrow and surrounded by vegetation. However, once the gate opens to this little community, you will find it is safe and secure. We do recommend you pay the upgrade fee to get a larger vehicle. The compact car struggled on some of the island's hills, especially when it rained, and sits low to the ground causing it to “bottom out” in some areas. The villa itself was clean and comfortable with beautiful ocean views. The beds are a little too firm and the mosquitoes hang around but being able to cookout and relax by the pool while looking at the view was well worth it. While a/c is only in the bedrooms, most nights there is a good breeze coming off the ocean to keep the living area cool. Kathy was very helpful and easy to work with. She met us at the airport and we followed her to the property. She was available to answer any questions along the way.

  My family and I are frequent travelers. We have rented homes all over the Caribbean and Central America. My 9 year old daughter is quite adventurous. We have spent nights in tents in Costa Rica. We have spent weekends in humble huts by the ocean in Columbia; So imagine my surprise after spending two nights in this house, my little girl asked to go back home to Georgia! I think the biggest surprise was the dirt! There was dust and dirt caked up on everything. The bathrooms were fairly clean. That good news was the only way I could talk my wife and daughter into staying. The tiny pool had mold, mildew and algae all around it. There were even some slick patches of something in the pool water. The outside furniture was made of metal. (In the tropics that’s a recipe for burned skin.) The sliding doors and screens were too rusty and bent to actually slide. The AC unit in the main area was not working well, so we were given two fans to help cool the area. (Not to mention the A/C units were load and not maintained either.) The DVD player was there as promised by not connected to the TV. The white sofa in the photos is not so white. The floors have been sealed with the mold still in the grout. I could go on, but I think the warning has been passed. I got a note from the management company promising to fix the page long list of problems for future guests. I think that’s great if it’s done, but it’s not like I pulled out a magnifying class to find these things. They should have been spotted and corrected well before paying customers arrived. For several $$$ thousand $$$ a week, I expected more. There are many beautiful properties in ST. Thomas. Why take the risk?

  We had two families at Coral Cay for 7 days. Even though we saw these pictures before our trip, we were still surprised at how completely amazing the views from the villa were. Coral Cay is very secluded and we loved being right on the ocean. Our favorite activity was going to Magen's Bay. Definitely one of the most beautiful beaches. Best day to visit was Saturday when there were no cruise ships in port. We worked with Kathy to rent the place and she was great as well. She met us at the rental car company and we followed her to the property. It would have been difficult to find without her help. We highly recommend this property and would definitely go back for another visit!

  Our stay was brief, about 15 minutes to be exact and but memorable in a horrible way! Car rental that is included in the price - what a joke! The car was dented, scratched, worn, etc. and ran horribly, felt like a death trap! Traded it in for a 'better' car, ha, ha, ha. The cars are junks! And that was just the start of our trip. The villa is located in an extremely run-down and filthy neighborhood, in which we did not feel safe in at all. If you like looking at people's garbage for adjacent properties, then perhaps you could feel at home. Gross, gross, gross. The gate worked nicely but couldn't keep people out since the fence is so low and in a poor state. Then the villa itself...could be nice with some TLC, but in it's current state is doesn't come remotely close to the term LUXURY as advertised. The photos are deceiving. There is trash all over the property grounds, the house is really run-down, toilet paper holders coming out of walls, filthy and torn carpets and furniture, blinds & windows disgustingly filthy, torn bed linens, horrible mattresses.....need I go on???? If your expectations of a vacation property are low, then it may work for you. We find no excuse for this dirty, ill-maintained property. As a final note, when we rented a safe car ourselves to drive, the rental manager told us that area of St. Thomas was one NEVER to go near as a tourist. We hadn't even told him we had been there either!

  Owner response: It is terribly unfortunate that we have received such a review. A team of fantastic people play a large roll in the upkeep and maintenance of our villa. This includes housekeeping staff, landscapers, pool staff, and on call maintenance staff. We take pride in our home and are very proud to own such a special piece of property in St. Thomas. Not only do we rent it out on a weekly basis to visitors, but our large extended family in the states visits regularly and stays in this home. Our manager ensured that everything was 100% ready for these guests arrival. When she escorted them to the home and showed them around the property, there were no complaints expressed. A few hours later, the guests emailed our manager telling her they were leaving and wanted a full refund. We wanted to speak with them and show us exactly what damage and garbage they were complaining about, but we were never allowed that opportunity. After inspection of the home, we still could not locate the areas of damage, garbage, or neglect they accused us of. We asked them to send us the photos they said they took but have not seen those either. We could do nothing but come to the conclusion that the complaints were unfounded and that they had unrelated reasons for leaving the home. Caret Bay Villas is a small neighborhood located on the water with properties valuing between $750,000 and $1,000,000 per home. It is safe, well taken care of (we have an association that enforces this), and beautiful. All these homes are villa rentals for tourist or are owned by wealthy stateside residents who spend their winters in these houses. We have had no criminal activity since we have owned the home. To reach the Caret Bay Villas neighborhood you must drive through Caret Bay West. Property values are lower, $250,000 and higher. This is also a safe neighborhood where many personal friends of ours live. Some of these homes are still under construction, but they cannot be seen from the Caret Bay Villas neighborhood. It is unfortunate that they judged it as unsafe. We urge you to do your own research of the location and of the homes. In addition, do not hesitate to ask us for current photos of our villa and Caret Bay Villas. You will see that it is almost unchanged from the photos on the listing.

  My husband and I just spent a wonderful, relaxing 10 days at Coral Cay Villa. We travel to St. Thomas often and have stayed in many villas (and have seen countless more)…this one is truly a delightful discovery and we can’t wait to return! Since we are very familiar with the island we already knew that the Northside location would be ideal; you always feel like you've really "gotten away from it all" on this part of the island. What we weren't prepared for was the privacy and spectacular views! Not only is the villa located in a gated community but it also features breathtaking views of the ocean and neighboring islands throughout the villa and from the pool area and multiple balconies in particular. Although the rooms all have air-conditioning the entire villa opens up and remains breezy even during the hottest parts of the day.?? Kathy is lovely to work with and was on hand to greet us, familiarize us with the property, and answer a couple of questions that came up during the week.

  Recommended for: Romantic getaway, age 55+, sightseeing, families with teenagers, girls getaway.

  This trip was unforgettable. The views from the villa are spectacular. We felt as though we were on our own private island. Kathy is such a wonderful person to work with. The house was immaculate and very spacious. My boyfriend and i will definitely be staying here again. P.S - Make sure to go to Bumpas for breakfast!!

  What a beautiful breath taking home.Fedora is such a pleasure to deal with.It is very off the "BEATEN PATH" but yet so close to all.The beautiful views are well worth the stay.I will definitely be back and recommand this beautiful home with everything you could possibily need.Thanks Ferdora!!!!

  We had a great vacation at Coral Cay Villa. We were a group of 8 adults and found the home to be modern, spacious and comfortable. There were a few days where some of us didn't even leave the house, but generally we explored the island during the day and had our suppers at the house in the evenings. The house is remote, so you definately need a vehicle, 4 wheel drive recommended, to get around. We rented through Fedora which was convenient as she also drove us to the home and gave us some good tips about the island. We bought groceries and liqour at Cost u Less, which we found to be reasonable with good selections. Coki beach was our favorite for local atmosphere and snorkelling. Meghans Bay is great after 5:00 pm when the cruise ship folks have left and the beach is deserted. And of course there is plenty of shopping on the island. We would definately recommend this type of vacation to others.
