Beautifully constructed A-frame cabin on 900+ acre lake, near Glenwood, MN, only 15 miles south of Alexandria!
Lake Amelia is 69 feet deep, has great fishing, and a sandbar to cool down on those nice sunny days. 3 queen beds, 4 twins, and one bunk of twins makes this a very comfortable place for eight! The day brings swimming, paddle-boating, fishing from the dock, yard games, enjoying the beautiful view from the swing and pure relaxation. Evenings are filled with smores from the fire pit, good eats from the gas grill, cards or visiting in the screened-in porch, and the sound of loons. Autumn is wonderful being so close to large areas of state land for hunting deer, pheasant and duck.
Want a larger lake to spend a day on? No problem! Lake Minnewaska (over 7000 acres) is just 5 minutes away and has two restaurants on the lake. Shopping and antiquing? No problem! Alexandria boasts of main street shopping of antiques and unique, specialty shops. Want some fresh donuts or fine foods? No problem! Glenwood has a great corner bakery along with some other fine restaurants (Chinese, Italian, French, American). During the winter months of January to April, the cabin is specifically set up for crafters of any kind: scrapbookers, quilters, knitters, etc. Eight 5-foot tables and chairs surround the great fireplace with lots of natural lighting from the huge south-east facing windows.
