CASA FINA is a lovely one level cottage conveniently located on the central edge of Carmel-by-the-Sea. It is in a pleasantly sunny and quiet location. CASA FINA is within walking distance (3/4 of a mile) to Ocean Avenue and the chic shops, art galleries and award winning restaurants. This charming cottage has been lovingly decorated with warm colors and tastefully selected furniture and antiques. The cottage is completely furnished - from down comforters to hairdryers to blenders. The walls in all rooms are adorned with etchings, watercolors, and photographs of old Europe.
The living room is flooded with light from 3 large windows and offers a wood burning fireplace. With the neutral fabrics and colorful pillows the room exemplifies the eclectic decor.
The separate and intimate dining room seats 6 people and is lighted by a large window overlooking the garden of hydrangeas, roses and a prolific orange tree! For the evening lighting there is an antique French chandelier over the dining table.
The master bedroom has a king-size bed and its own tumbled marble tile bathroom with a shower. Beautiful bougainvillea blossoms cross over two of the windows! Built-in closet and drawers house your vacation wear.
The second bedroom has two twin-size beds and two wall reading lights, a closet of its own, and a shelf full of good reading material.
The sunroom has a day bed with two additional twin beds. All rooms are individually decorated with many framed pictures.
The hall bathroom offers a tub and a separate shower. It too has its share of photographs, this time with scenes of the beach!
The kitchen is fully equipped and has a self-cleaning gas stove and oven. Place settings for 12+ with glassware and china.
There are two decks that are all about relaxing. Dinner or lunch al fresco is a certain enjoyment on either deck. The decks are surrounded by pampas grass and bougainvillea and furnished with wrought iron chairs and tables, a chaise lounge, and a grill.

My husband and I just spent a fabulous month at La Casa Fina in Carmel-by-the-sea. It was just wonderful. The home is very comfortable, beautifully decorated and sparkling clean. The beds were so comfortable, the master bath floor is heated and the linens on the bed were luxurious. Our daughter and her fiancee spent a few days over Christmas and we had a wonderful Christmas dinner prepared at Grasings' restaurant in Carmel. All in all, it was a wonderful month. I can't recommend La Casa Fina enough. Carolyn is a delight also.

We have rented the La Casa Fina during the month of March in each of 2010 and 2011. Our 2010 stay was all that we would have hoped for and much more. Starting with the communication between the owner and ourselves they were just excellent. The owner is well informed and just the warmest and cordual folks to deal with. The cottage is all that the owner describes and much more,very clean and move in ready with everything most would need to relax and start housekeeping. The cottage is convenient to everything on the peninsula, well located in a quiet and friendly neighborhood. Obviously we enjoyed our first stay so much we made it our destination for this years winter getaway. Happy to say this years stay was all that we experienced last year and exceeded our rather high expectations from our last stay. Again the owners are just the best and spare no expense in making the cottage a wonderful and warm home away from home.

I just returned from a week at this charming home. It was far more than I could even have hoped for escaping the working world for a brief time! The pictures don't begin to communicate the loving care and thoughtfulness that touch you from the moment you enter the home. The outside was an especially pleasant surprise in the privacy and beauty of the patios and lush surroundings. The location is perfect for daily walks to the town and beach.

Casa Fina is not a rental - It is a welcoming and gracious home set in an idyllic landscaped garden. We enjoyed one glorious week following the hectic Christmas holiday with fireside conversations, board and card games (the closet is stocked), and reading (a trove of books and wonderful vintage design magazines is on offer). You can't help but feel relaxed and coddled. The heated bathroom floor was a real bonus! We can't wait to return ... Thank you Carolyn, for unsurpassed hospitality!

I've just recently returned from a glorious 7 days in Carmel-by-the-Sea with my Mom, sister and Mom's cousin. The moment we entered "La Casa Fina" we were immediately embraced by it's warmth and charm. This "home" truly exceeded our expectations from the beautifully furnished and decorated rooms to the radiant heat floor in the master bath to the lush plantings surrounding the home. After a full day of sight-seeing "La Casa Fina" was a very welcome respite. I hope to some day return to this magical place! Thank you again, Carolyn.

My husband, cousin and her husband all stayed at the Casa Fina. We had two highlights of our trip: one was the family wedding we attended, and the other one was enjoying our "down-time" at the Casa Fina. We all loved it and it truly felt like home.

Casa Fina is home. My husband, our three children and my father came to this gorgeous jewel box in the middle of October '07. From the moment I entered this house it wrapped it's arms around me like a dear beloved friend. Carolyn has gone to great lengths to appoint her home with all things lovely and comforting. From her impeccable photographs, to the sumptuous linens, no detail is overlooked. We kept feeling as if we were staying in someones cherished home, and that's because we were. Casa Fina is a artfully intoxicating cottage full of creature comforts and unexpected delights. Anyone lucky enough to have a night or two (or seven!) at this charming address will certainly crave more. Thank you Carolyn, you are a wonderful soul to share this home with others. we stayed at la casa fina christmas week of '07 with 5 adults and two children and had a lovely time. the accommodations were comfortable and beautifully decorated. we had plenty of space and spent our evenings cooking meals in the fully stocked kitchen, and playing board games late into the night. the grounds surrounding the house are gorgeous. the back patio gets a lot of sun and feels secluded, and the orange tree in front of the house was full of ripe fruit the week we were there- - i indulged in at least two oranges a day! i walked into town several times and found it a very easy distance. i highly recommend this vacation rental.

La Casa Fina is the perfect vacation retreat. Beautifully laid out and decorated with warm, rich colors, it blends sophistication with warmth and comfort in the true Carmel tradition. This home was so much more than we expected--we were just in awe. I have been vacationing in Carmel for all of my 50 years--it's my favorite place. So beautiful. So much to do and see. This time, however, the highlight was curling up in this home and pretending it was mine!
