Location: Ellijay, Northwest High Country, Georgia, USA (A Little Over an Hour's Drive North of Atlanta.)

Nestled among the lush ferns, hemlocks and laurels on the banks of the beautiful Cartecay River, this fabulous cabin is decorated with "rustic class", featuring oils done by local artists and antiques garnered in the quaint town of Ellijay. Open the windows and let the river lull you to sleep as you nap under handmade quilts on top of fine linens. Call the chef (optional but reasonable) to prepare dinner (perhaps the mountain trout you reeled in while fly fishing?)or try out any number of wonderful local restaurants. Read a book chosen from the shelves at Bear Pause while swaying in the hammock perched over the river. Kayak, canoe or tube down Blackberry Falls, the class III rapids just below your cabin. Experience the local apple harvest festivities with complimentary passes to Hillcrest Orchards' Apple Pickin' Jubilee, moonshine museum, and petting zoo, where the kids can learn how to milk Bessie, Hillcrest's milk cow. Kick up your heels to some appalachian blue grass music. Bike along one of Georgia's best routes on highway 52 or Bear Creek MTB. Hike a spell on the appalachian trail, which begins on Springer Mountain 10 miles from your front door. Visit Burt's Pumpkin Farm or the Kangaroo Center. Take a gander at the highest waterfall east of the Mississippi (Amicalola)or visit Fort Mountain State Park. Pan for Gold in Dahlonega and visit the museum heralding Americas' first gold rush. Call your concierge (included) to book your tee time at the local golf club, your massage at the local spa or just to find out what's playing at the Swan Drive-In theatre, one of America's last remaining drive-in movie theatres. If you must,take advantage of the free wireless internet to touch base with your office. If it gets a little chilly in the morning, turn on the soapstone stove, brew up some coffee and pull up a rocker while you fantasize about making Bear Pause your regular retreat!
