The house is simple, but well stocked and comfortable. Front porch and pond were fantastic. Close access to the Creeper Trail and great country roads for biking. Lots of fun for the whole family, including the dogs.

We thoroughly enjoyed Amanda's Hideaway. Plenty of space for two families, 3 adults and 2 girls. Enjoyed the porch, the fishing pond (yes, we caught and released something), and the fully equipped kitchen (gas stove!). The short ride to the Creeper Trail was easy in both directions. The bonus were free evening activities at the Whitetop Community Center on Friday and Saturday. On the list of places for return visits. Thanks!

Our dog loved the big dogs next door (the cows). Was a great place to stay after a 20 mile ride down the creeper! Neighbors came by and invited us to church which was very nice of them. Quiet area! Nice big front porch for being lazy! Layout was very nice and am considering similar for our retirement home. Wife picked this place out and as usual she did good. I am curious as to how difficult it is to drive up/down mountain during winter? I am a winter driving wimp!
Owner response:Thank You we're glad you enjoyed your stay.We have'nt had a chance to go to Whitetop during the winter yet.I'm hoping its not too bad as to when we get to retire out there.I've talked to neighbors out there and they keep the main roads pretty well cleaned off.Thank You again and have a great night.John&Jonna

We stayed in the house for a week in July. We loved it! It was so peaceful and quiet, and very clean and comfortable. Nothing fancy, just a farm house that's been fixed up, nice original hardwood floors, nice paint colors in the rooms. Very comfortable and spacious. Stayed very cool in hot weather, and always cooled down to the point of needing blankets at night. We did the Virginia Creeper Trail, unfortunately the top 3 miles were closed so we had to put our bikes on the car and drive down to Green Cove. We always love biking the trail. We went to Grayson Highlands State Park for the first time, and it is really beautiful--as good as the Smokies, without the crowds/traffic. No grocery stores nearby except for a little convenience store which had what we needed. No cell-phone service, but we appreciated the free long-distance on the house phone. We would definitely recommend it and hope to return.

Amanda's Hideaway is a great family destination. The house has a warm, open feel to it and a wonderful wide front porch. The beds are VERY comfortable. And the proximity to the Creeper Trail can't be beat--you can head out on your bike from the house! Hope to make it back sometime soon.

We stayed at Amanda's Hideaway last October. The weather was awful for the Creeper, but the cabin was warm and cozy. We had a great time and the neighbors let us pick apples up out of their yard to make apple butter. The area is full of apple trees in the fall. The owners are super nice and the cabin VERY clean.

Amandas' Hide Away was great. We currently live in the city and it was nice to get away from the hustle and bustle of city life. The owners were great in working with us in allowing us to extend our stay, unexpectantly. If you want to get away and enjoy fresh air, a super clean environment and have a lot of fun, I highly recommend Amandas Hide Away as the place to be. I will definitely being staying at Amanda's HideAway during my next vacation to Virginia.

Our family of 4 had a fantastic 4th of July at, "Amanda's Hideaway"! Our boys caught a fish within an hour of our arrival in the pond out front! The VA creeper trail was so close and so much fun! Our 5 year was even able to ride the entire 17 miles. The kids enjoyed the country life-cows in the field; 4-wheelers in the parade; fishing; biking. The house was clean and had everything we needed-and then some. The kids loved the newly renovated loft! The neighbors were very friendly and the weather was great-a nice escape from Charlotte’s summer heat! Can't wait to visit again soon...
