On the first floor of our vacation home (Hale A’Hohonu Uliuli) is Uliuli Iki, a darling one bedroom, one bath unit that has its own private entrance and off street parking. Decorated with a tropical flair and just a short block to the beautiful blue Pacific, this large one bedroom unit offers a full kitchen, outdoor covered lanai and beautiful picture window views of the green and lush garden yard. The full-size living room and bedroom with queen bed give you more than enough room to relax and while taking in the wonderful sights, sounds and smells of the beautiful Big Island.
This unit can be rented separately or together with A’Hohonu Uliuli, the second story, two bedroom, two bath upstairs unit. What a perfect way for two couples or a larger family to travel with two separate private living spaces. Uliuli Iki has the same wireless internet connection as the upstairs unit along with satellite TV and laundry access.
We have pineapple, papaya and bananas growing on the property available to you when in season. The house comes with a "starter" set of toilet paper, paper towels, bar soap and various recipocating condiments in the frig.
Come explore East Hawaii and all that it has to offer: the volcano, warm ponds, surfing, snorkeling at the tide pools and so much more.
Uliuli is as cute as a button and is just waiting for you to enjoy it!

I manage our vacation rental as well as doing housekeeping and notary services. My husband Bob and I both love meeting all the wonderful people. We can direct you to some of the most beautiful sites on the island. All you have to do is ask. Why the Owner Chose Pahoa
This is real Hawaii, not your typical touristville. We wanted to get away from the busy life, slow down and enjoy each breath. Markets, shops and restaurants are conveniently located only 8 miles away, but you don't want to go anywhere once you get here. This neighborhood is safe, secure and friendly. Meet the neighbors as you walk to the park or to Honolulu Landing, an ancient Hawaiian canoe lanching site. We just love it here.
The Unique Benefits of this House
This area is referred to as the "banana belt" because of its warm climate and on-shore breeze with the cleanest air on the planet. All utilities are underground in this neighborhood. We also have mail delivery to the house. You can hear the waves crashing on the shoreline and the sound of rain on the roof top is so memorable. Pahoa has some of the finest dining including Pahoa Village Cafe, owned by our friend top-chef Michael, Kaleo's which features jazz artist Maggie Heron on Thurs & Sun. nights, Luquin's best mexican food on the island and Palo's romantic italian dining (and don't forget to order the teramisu first before they run out). Also check out S.P.A.C.E. in Sea View and Kalani's ecstatic dance on Sundays.
