Colorado Cottage Getaway

Located between the desirable vacation and shopping districts of Old Colorado City and Manitou Springs sits the Colorado Cottage Getaway at the base of Pikes Peak Mountain. The Colorado Cottage is surrounded by Red Rock Canyon with breathtaking mountain views that you can enjoy from your private front porch and the Hotel San Ayre’s street-side Xeriscape Garden. Full of character and ripe with history, this is what Colorado is all about!

Centrally located to all of the area’s majestic attractions, the Colorado Cottage Getaway is located in a historic home that received a complete renovation in 2007. The Cottage is part of the Hotel San Ayre, a popular boutique hotel that appeals to many a savvy traveler with its whimsical style, first class service, and exceptional value. You’ll experience the best of both worlds, as you enjoy the privacy of your vacation rental at a hotel that can offer you service, should you need it.

The Colorado Cottage is approximately 1000sq feet of luxurious comfort; a cozy retreat that features modern yet timeless cottage décor. The difference is in the details of this rental. Experience history as you enjoy the architectural appointments of a bygone era. Originally constructed in the 1893, the Colorado Cottage is adorned with wooden blinds throughout, gorgeous historic hand-tooled window and door trim, 8-inch wood baseboards, and ¾ restored hardwood floors with honey-walnut stain. And don’t forget about the French Doors that add to the charm of this Historic Cottage!

After a long day of sightseeing you’ll be able to snuggle up in one of two bedrooms that feature an Iron King Bed in the Master and an Iron Scroll-Design Queen Bed in the 2nd Bedroom as well as luxurious bed linens. Or perhaps you would first like to soak in a relaxing bath in your private bathroom that features both a shower and original cast iron tub?

Traveling with a large group? You won’t feel cramped in this rental, which also offers a plush, yet modern granite-colored full-size sleeper sofa in the living room to accommodate the whole family (up to 4 adults and 2 children). Also worth a mention in the living room, is a cozy chocolate-colored side chair and ottoman.

Additional amenities include a large and open eat-in kitchen loaded with all the tools you will need to create memorable family feasts. The kitchen features beautiful tile work on the floor and countertops with a decorative tumbled stone backsplash. Have dinner at the attractive black wooden gathering table that will sit your whole family with six solid wood chairs. After enjoying a delicious dinner, your family can adjourn to your private front porch that features views of Red Rock Canyon and to the West, Pikes Peak. How better to enjoy Colorado than to relax on your porch or in the garden and watch the sun set behind the mountain?

Feeling more like a BBQ? Walk through the back door of your house (through your private laundry room) and you will find that you are surrounded by the gardens of the hotel. Imagine-just out your back door you can enjoy the use of a Charcoal BBQ grill and Fire pit (which happens to also be a great place for roasting S’Mores).

The Hotel’s gardens are something you really will enjoy, as they surround the Cottage. Have a picnic in the front, or simply soak in the mountain atmosphere in this hidden garden that features a Xeriscape design with native Colorado vegetation.

Other suite features include Private Laundry Room with Washer and Dryer, Private Entrances and Off-Street Parking, Black Wooden Armoire with Cable Television and DVD, WIFI (Wireless Internet), Clock Radios, Coffee maker, Iron, Hairdryer, Spa-Quality Bath Amenities.

    • Our family of 4 spent a memorable and pleasant week at the Hotel San Ayre. We stayed in the Colorado cottage and it proved to be the right choice for us. The kitchen was great for our breakfasts before setting out on a day of site seeing. We even made a couple of dinners there as well which helped to save us $$ on eating out. Diana and Mike were considerate, friendly and accomodating hosts. The location is a prime spot right in the midst of all the activities and tourist stops. It's close proximity to Garden of the Gods was tremendous since we like to hike. If we are ever in the region again we will stay at the Hotel San Ayre.

    • We had the pleasure of staying in this lovely cottage in Colorado Springs in July of 2008 and HIGHLY recommend it!!! Mike and Diana were the most pleasant and helpful owners you could want (full of ideas for things to do and see AND the mapquest directions to get us there) and their guest cottage was absolutely beautiful! We wanted for nothing during our stay! After such a long trip, it was so nice to be able to settle in and feel "at home". We were sorry to have to say goodbye. If we find ourselves back in the area, we will definitely book again at the Hotel San Ayre!

    • My husband and I stayed in this cottage in October for our honeymoon. The owners are so incredibly nice, and gave us great suggestions for places to go. The location is excellent, close to Old Colorado City and Manitou Springs. We will definitely be back to stay in this adorable house.

    • My friends and I absolutely loved our stay in Colorado Springs. Our Colorado Cottage we stayed in (the Hotel San Ayre) was so charming. It was also clean and comfortable. There was such a warm, cozy feel to it and the owners could not be more wonderful. They were hospitable, and did everything to make our stay fun and worry-free. The location was perfect, we had easy access to all the places we needed to be in Colorado Springs. The cottage really was so fun, we wanted to just stay in and hang out in our lovely house. Truly charming!
