'Hale Nana Kohola' Villa is 4500 sq ft of architectural masterpiece on the beach in beautiful Puako. 3000 additional sq. ft. of lanais to lounge around on when you're not at the beach. Kayaking and snorkeling only steps away in pristine clear coral reefs where Humpback whales come to breed from January to April and the sea turtles reside year round.
This home offers 2 master suites, 2 guest bedrooms with their own baths, a media room with a bath, an open living, dining and gourmet kitchen area with cathedral ceilings that opens to a huge covered lanai adjacent to the 46' 360 degree infinity pool.
Each bedroom, including the living and media rooms, has a large flatscreen TV (6 total) complete with an advanced audio system that can accept individual IPOD music selections. (bring your IPOD!)
Both master suites are complete with two lavatories, tub, shower, seperate toilet rooms with bidets and large walk-in closets.
Great care was taken with the landscape, creating a beautiful palm tree oasis including a hammock stretched between two palms on the ocean side. This home is one of the few in Puako with a sandy beach right in front.

Why the Owner Chose Puako
When we found Puako we felt we were home. It reminded us of old Hawaii, a sleepy little street running along the Beautiful Kahoka Coast. It was not our intent while building to use it as a vacation rental. It just happened and we have been very fortunate to share this paradise with others.

Jane is an artist and a designer and Ron is a contractor. They both have teamed up over the last forty years to build homes with balance and flow that they and visitors can enjoy. It is like creating a feeling that is appealing to the senses. Over the years with Jane’s visions and Ron’s construction ability and help from various architects, several of their homes have been awarded; have been in charity events for architectural walks and in publications.

This beautiful home is immediately relaxing. It definitely lives up to the pictures and advertising. The surroundings are beautiful, the beach is steps away, the furniture is comfortable, the kitchen is well equiped, the A/V system is extensive, the bedrooms are well sized and have good privacy. The house is modern and clean, and constructed with warm, natural materials. The architectural style is an excellent example of indoor/outdoor space sharing, with wide, open doorways to the exterior spaces. As we did a lot of our own cooking, it was very nice to have a good stove, good barbecue, a couple of full size refrigerators for food storage, and lots of counter space to work with. We made good use of the snorkeling gear and kayaks that were on site. The Puako area is well situated, far enough from major towns to feel more "Hawaiian natural", but close enough to Kona or Wiamea (approx 20 min) to easily make a run for anything not found in the local shops. There are some really nice additional beaches locally for snorkeling, that are just five to ten minutes away. It was the perfect base of operations for a fun filled vacation! Beautiful architecture, nice artwork, and excellent landscaping. We spent 10 days there and loved every minute of it!

The ultimate Hawaian escape with paradise at your doorstep. The photos don't do this home and location justise, the house and location are superb. Rest assured that Ron and Jane have thought of everything and you are free to relax and enjoy your stay. I can't wait to return.

We spent 7 magical days here with 3 other couples. The house was perfect for our type of holiday. It was perfect for relaxing, sitting on the deck for many hours eating and drinking. Swimming with the turtles off the beach, watching the sunset, and just being able to relax in this glorious home with our friends. The house was big enough for each couple to have their own space. The kitchen was so well equipt with everything you needed as was the entire beautiful house. A tip, we had chef Kathy come in and cook a couple of meals for us in the house which was very special indeed! Mahalo Jane and Ron for a fantastic experience in paradise! We visited the Big Island to escape reality and catch up with friends from Australia. We were all blown away by the incredible accommodations at Hale Nana Kohala and quickly realized there was no reason to leave the tranquil beauty of your home. Each day we enjoyed snorkeling in front of the house with amazing fish and sea turtles, swimming in the infinity pool, and cocktails on the beach watching breathtaking sunsets and laughing with good friends. The home was stocked well-beyond our needs (exceeded any rental we had ever stayed in) and the management company (Mary) was extremely knowledgeable and helpful. We hired chef, Kathy Morris, to come in two separate evenings and prepare some fantastic meals. What an incredible experience to be able to dine and enjoy the views, atmosphere, and the company of good friends without having to leave the comfort of this lovely home. It was especially nice having everything from appetizers to desserts prepared without the hassle of cleaning up, and Kathy prepared some delicious fresh vegetables from her very own garden. What a nice special touch to our wonderful holiday. Her tuna poke was my favorite on the island! The house had such an amazing design and flow, that it was easy to tell that every little detail was carefully considered and planned. It was perfectly designed for four couples to have their privacy when needed and the perfect beautiful, spacious living room, dining room, deck, and pool area for entertaining and socializing. I didn't believe in "Feng Shui" until we stayed here! Well done...we look forward to a return visit to your Puako home or a visit to your Malibu home in the near future! Best regards, Leslie and Kirk

We recently met up with friends from both the US & Australia and had the most incredible time. The house was just so beautiful, set in a stunning bay with turtles swimming around as you enter the water. Everythnig about the house was perfect , big open plan and fantastic pool. We had a chef cook for us and loved every minute of it. I would recommend this property for anyone looking for a unique holiday or special occasion as it is just the most amazing place I have stay in. Thanks Ron , I can't wait to come back !!

We spent seven nights at this wonderful home on Puako. We loved every minute of our stay. This is a large home located right on the ocean front at Puako. The home is equiped with everything you would need. It was truly a luxury experience. This is the best home we have rented in HI and we have rented many. The web site is entirely accurate and describes very well the special features. The visuals are great and anyone visiting the web site can easily determine whether the home meets their needs.

What a fabulous place! The house is beautifully decorated,comfortable and spacious with all the amenities one could desire. The pool and patio areas provide the ultimate in serenity. And with the beach just steps away with incredible tide pools, turtles and fish, it just doesn't get any better. We had friends from Shanghai and Russia staying with us and they just couldn't get over the how nice everything was. To this day they profess that this was one of the best places that they have ever stayed...and they travel often. We had planned on going to restaurants every night but instead we chose to stay at the house and cook for ourselves as no restaurant could offer the premiere environment that we were in. Plus, the gourmet kitchen and Bar B Que made for wonderful meals and social gatherings. If you love water activities and the beach, you will be in heaven here!! The house provides all the equipment you will need for fun, fun, fun! Our three year old daughter had the time of her life and is always asking to go back to the "Hawaii House." I can't wait to go back and I recommend this property1000%!

My family spent a week at Hale Nana Kohola celebrating my retirement and enjoying the beauty of the Big Island. Given the pictures and the price, our expectations were high and were certainly met, if not exceeded, by this beautiful home and setting. The owner was very helpful and easy to work with and the local manager was a great source of ideas for how we could make the best of our time on the island. The house is well equiped for everything one might need including beach chairs, bikes and kayaks. In addition to the beach in front, there are several great beaches very close. Our dinner at the Blue Dragon for "rock and roll" night was great fun. Sunsets each night were beautiful and celebrated on the beach in front with a glass of wine. I would not hesitate to recommend this property to anyone.

This is an amazing home. Very private, beautifully furnished and appointed, we wished we could have stayed forever. The location is great, you don't have to leave to be in heaven, but if you want to there are great beaches within a few minutes! It comes with a full array of beach gear and kayaks and has the most complete furnished kitchen I have seen ( and we love to cook). Our stay exceeded our expectations which were very high! June 10'.
