Contentedly nap by the pool as you refresh yourself from the everyday hustle & bustle of city life. Then, as evening approaches, come inside & snuggle up to a romantic fire in the rosewood stone fireplace in the open living room area.
Morning Star Ranch is comfortably furnished for a couples get-away or families with children. There is a king-sized bed in the master bedroom and a queen-sized bed in the guest bedroom. Each are topped with memory foam pads & cotton sheets. Located in the detached game room is a full-sized sleeper sofa. There is also a very comfortable queen-sized, self-inflatable, raised Aero-bed that can be used in the game room or living room for extra sleeping space. The master bedroom has an en-suite bathroom with dual sinks, tub & separate shower stall. The second bathroom has a shower/tub combination.
Besides the 30" high def TV in the living room, there are TV's in each bedroom & the game room, each connected to satellite. All the electronics you might miss while being away from home are provided: DVD player with surround sound & iPOD dock, VCR player, & laptop with wireless DSL internet access & printer. There is also a telephone for all your local calls.
In our kitchen you will have access to every necessary appliance needed to prepare your breakfast, lunch & dinner. The large Weber propane BBQ is conveniently located just outside the back door. Enjoy your meals al fresco on the comfy teak furniture on the pool lanai or inside at the oak dining table overlooking the pool. And when you're not in the mood to cook, dine out at any number of excellent area restaurants (from sushi, Chinese, Mexican or BBQ food to five star European-style dining & more), all located within 5 to 10 minutes from home.
Take leisurely walks around the expansive 2-acre property that is scattered about with large granite outcroppings, & listen to the whispering cedar, pine & oak trees. Meander down to the seasonal creek in the winter & spring or the large meadow; be on the alert for a covey of quail or the occasional grazing deer. Spend sun-kissed days & star-lit nights in a quiet locale that is destined to become your home-away-from home.
This secluded & very private property near the town of Ahwahnee is your own peaceful sanctuary, away from the tourists that you will meet in nearby Yosemite Valley (about an hour away). And for couples or families with young children not in school yet, fall is the perfect season to visit Yosemite: less crowds & heat. You can begin your adventure at the Mariposa Grove of giant redwoods located at the southern entrance to Yosemite Valley 20 miles away or take the 55 mile drive from Highway 49 up to the all-weather Scenic Highway 140 which winds along the beautiful Merced River & into the western Arch Rock entrance to Yosemite Valley.
On your way to Yosemite, visit the historic Yosemite Mountain Sugar Pine Railway with its' old-fashioned narrow-gauge steam engines. Take a ride on "The Logger", stay for lunch or dinner & enjoy their entertainment. Horseback riding stables are also close by.
Bring your fishing pole or boat (or rent one at the local marina) and have a glorious day on pristine Bass Lake 20 minutes away, picnicking and enjoying water sports--or venture out to any number of lakes nearby. Badger Pass Ski Resort is less than an hour away for you ski enthusiasts. For golfers, River Creek Golf Course is a public, 9-hole course where you can rent a golf cart & hit the links for $20/day. Sierra Meadows Ranch Country Club is a semi-private 18-hole course that has recently undergone a $2 million renovation. Both courses are just a few minutes away.
Take a day-trip up Highway 49 to explore dozens of old gold rush-era towns. Visit the charming & historic town of Mariposa 30 minutes northwest: see a working stamp mill with old mining equipment, historic museums, buildings, carriages & wagons. And remember, Chukchansi Gold Casino is only 20 minutes south in Coarsegold if you're feeling lucky or want to enjoy a concert!
Visit Raley's Supermarket in Oakhurst which has the friendliest staff and is the best stocked food store, deli & bakery in town. You will also find numerous other conveniences such as a Gottshalks Department Store, Vons, Longs & Rite-Aid Drug Stores, Jamba Juice, Quizno's, various fast food restaurants, 6-screen movie theatre, bowling alley and even Starbucks to name only a few!
The immediate backyard and pool area is completely enclosed so the kids can have full run of the grassy yard, wooden deck & patio. There is a horseshoe pit, badminton & croquet sets and a basketball hoop for you to use when you're done enjoying the pool. The spacious game room has a full-sized pool table/ping pong table where you can listen to music while you play a game of pool, ping pong, chess or darts. Of course, you could just sit & relax and enjoy a DVD, CD, video, book or board game and unwind from your days' adventures.
