Do you long for those days when you went to the Lake and spent time with your family? When you walk into Griff's Place, you feel the positive vibes of the many wonderful experiences of those who have visited this home in years past.
This is a place to relax and forget work and enjoy the water and the wildlife (during the day, you will both hear and see the Eagles that live nearby). At the end of the day, you can enjoy the sunset over the water and watch the watercraft go by. Even better, bring your boat and enjoy the use of our dock. Although you are in an established lake neighborhood, when you turn to go to Griff's Place, you leave the hustle and bustle of the busy world as you drive through a heavy wooded canopy to the lake. You feel like you are entering another world when the world's pace was a lot slower yet you are just a few miles from the city and its entertainment. At Griff's Place, you can enjoy the best of all worlds.
This house consists of two large bedrooms and a full bath on the upper level and the lower level has a greatroom/kitchen/dining combo with a 1/2 bath for a combination of 1200 square feet of livable space. Patio doors present a view of the lake from all the bedrooms and from the greatroom comb. To further enhance your enjoyment of the water views from the bedroom, you can walk out on the deck. From the greatroom combo, you can walk out of the patio and sit and enjoy a view of the lake while enjoying breakfast or you can swing on the provided 2-man swing or just lay in the hammock and read a good book. You can bring your own boat and tie up at the dock, but if you don't have a boat, I provide a 4-man paddle boat and a jon boat with a trolling motor!
Below are exerpts from the notes written in the diary at Griff's Place:
' We absolutely love this cabin-perfect space for a relaxing break.'
' What a gem! We could not have found a better place to enjoy a relaxing weekend. Your home is so welcoming and immaculate! We really enjoyed the bikes and watching the beautiful sunset. Our stay was perfect!'
'This place is awesome! Wonderful way to relax and unwind. The view is spectacular with all the comforts of home. We cannot wait to come back--again & again.'
'Sweet! Two weeks here has brought transquility back to my life.'
'Thank you so much for sharing this great place with me. I don't want to leave but looking so forward to coming back.'
Come and visit 'Griff's Place' where you can slow down and just enjoy the water and nature around you, but when you want to enjoy the sights of Charlotte, you are just a couple of miles from easy access of the city. Randy and I look forward to meeting you and having you stay in our home.

We absolutely loved this rental. My 3 year old son was occupied for hours with Skipper. I wish Skipper could have went home with us. The pictures on the website do not accurately show how beautiful this place is. Martha was pleasant and extremely helpful. We had a problem at the house and she fixed it immediately. The house was immaculate. Every amenity that you could possibly need was available in the home. I recommended this rental to a friend, and she rented it the next weekend. The house was located fairly close to every attraction we went to while we were there. We are definitely returning again in the near future. See you soon from the Frazier Family :)Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 0/0

We had a great stay. The house is the perfect size for 4, maybe a little tight for 6 but could accommodate 6. Martha keeps it very clean and everything was in good condition. She stopped by to check on us after we arrived and answered all of our questions while providing the ladies shopping tips. The neighborhood was very quiet and was exactly what we were hoping it would be. The men fished and were able to keep their boat at the dock while the women shopped and enjoyed reading books by the lake shore. Skipper (neighbor's dog) was around most of our trip and thoroughly enjoyed a game of fetch. We will definitely be planning another trip.Recommended for: Sightseeing, adventure seekers, age 55+, families with teenagers, romantic getaway, families with young children, girls getaway.

Our stay was everything we could have asked for and more. The house was fully stocked with everything we could have needed. The owners were very helpful and easy to talk to. The house was very clean and set up well for a getaway. I would recommend staying here to anyone who wants to get away from it all, but still be close enough to a Walmart if they need something.Recommended for: Adventure seekers, families with teenagers, romantic getaway.
Owner response: You Bass Boys, are always welcome. I have quite a few fishermen come to the house. Not only do I have a floating dock but the yard is large enough to park your trailer, your truck, and any other equipment you might bring for your trip. If your boat does not start, a boat mechanic lives a few minutes from the house! It was very nice meeting you and I hope you will visit again in the near future.

Cabin was very clean and neat. She provided all we needed for our stay. We could have visited with just a suitcase of clothes, and been just fine. They provided all, including soap, shampoo, other toiletries, all needed items for the kitchen, including spices and oil, all things needed even for our entertainment, including a paddle boat, games, books, magazines, a hammock and a great view. It was very convenient to town and easy to find. We have family in Tega Cay, so we now call this our "Tega Cay" Cabin! Big thanks to the owners and great job! We will be back!Recommended for: Families with teenagers, romantic getaway, families with young children.

A buddy and I stayed here on our annual Cowboys away game trip and we were in town to see them play the Panthers. We paid only $20 more per night than the Charlotte LaQuinta cost, which would have had only one bedroom. We had our own bedroom and bath, a fully stocked kitchen with every dish, utensil, cookware, and spice you could ever need, a covered porch with grill and hammock, a 2nd story balcony off each bedroom which overlooked the dock and lake, all set in a gorgeous forrested, secluded area. Martha, the owner, was very welcoming and helpful with local tips. She had the place very clean and comfy. She was very communicative before our stay. An absolute pleasure to deal with. This house is about ten minutes from the Charlotte airport, and about ten minutes from the light rail, which had free parking and took us right to the stadium downtown. I can't recommend this place highly enough if you are traveling to the Charlotte area for ANY reason. We would definitely stay here again if we are ever in the area. I have been the owner of vacation property and have also rented them on numerous occasions. I can say truthfully, that you would be hard pressed to find a property more "fully stocked," or guest ready. She even provides the coffee! We live on Banderias Bay in Puerto Vallarta and enjoy a wonderful view year round. This setting is equally beautiful and amazingly tranquil. As others have said and as Martha mentions on her listing, Skipper and Katy, the dogs, will entertain you as long as you wish; but, after giving you a soulful, "are you sure?" look, the will go home as soon as you tell them to. Watching the eagles and ospreys soaring was a delight. Looked up one morning to see a heron standing on the deck, not 5 feet away! A wonderful 10 days.Owner response: Jim, thank you so much for your kind words. I am glad you enjoyed your stay. I try to provide as many amenities as possible in that I have guests who not only drive but also guests who fly in as well. When you walk in, I want you to have what necessities you need in case you want to wait on groceries. Nothing is worst than waking up the next morning and not having any coffee! My goal is to make your stay as pleasant as possible. Thank you again for sharing your pictures of Banderias Bay in Puerto Vallarta. The view is breathtaking! It looks like you live in Paradise everyday . . . but when you need to visit family again, please keep Griff's Place in mind. Best wishes to you.

We had a wonderful time at Griff's place! The house was spacious and equipped with everything we needed for a two week vacation. We especially enjoyed the outdoors - the patio with the bbq and hammock, and the lake with the dock - great for fishing, boating, and playing with the dogs! It was a quick trip into Charlotte, and a relaxing day trip to Asheville. We cannot say enough good things about the house, and especially about Martha and Randy! They are wonderful hosts and provided our family with everything we needed for a memorable vacation!Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 0/0

This was our third visit and as always everything was just perfect! Martha and Randy have thought of everything you need and have created an oasis outside of busy Charlotte. Our children just loved jumping off the dock with the dogs, playing on the swing, and we adored the hammock! Thank you so much for everything! We can't wait to come back next Summer!Recommended for: Sightseeing, age 55+, families with teenagers, romantic getaway, families with young children, girls getaway.
Owner response: Thank you so much for your kind words. My goal for every guest who visits is that they enjoy themselves and have great memories whenever they think about Griff's Place. The reason I enjoy vacation rental is that I get to meet such nice people and build relationships with them over the years. Randy and I get much pleasure knowing we are providing a place where families can bond. So we thank you for providing us good memories as well. Martha Edwards

About the owner: Randy, my husband, was in the military for over 42 years and since he has retired, he has operated his own boat repair business on Lake Wylie. I was an educator with the Charlotte-Mecklenburg School System for over 30 years. After I retired, I decided to start renting my two homes on Lake Wylie and got into the vacation rental business. I am the person who emails you and talks to you via the telephone. I am also the person who cleans your home (along with a friend), makes sure everything is ready for your visit, and is there to greet you at your arrival. Randy and I consider all our guests to be special and are there to make your stay as enjoyable as possible.
Why the Owner Chose Lake Wylie:
When Randy and I bought this house, we immediately noticed the good 'vives' of the house. You could picture the families of times past in the house eating together with the children running in and out the doors playing with one another. When I go over to Griff's Place, I always have felt at peace and so close to nature and God--I wanted to share this with others. With the hard economy we are facing, I hope this house will bring peace and happiness to those who visit.
The Unique Benefits at this Cabin:
-The location of the house makes it easy and quick to access Charlotte and nearby towns.
-Everything is provided that you will need for a stay. Forgot your toothbrush, don't worry, I have extra.
-Beautiful views of the lake from every room of the home.
-Even though you are in a lake community, you are within ten minutes of retail businesses and less than two miles from Interstate 485 which connects to Interstates 85 and 77.
-Don't own a boat or can't afford to rent a boat, I provide a 4-man paddle boat and a jonboat with a trolling motor.
-Need a baby-sitter? My neighbor's dog, Skipper, will entertain both you and your chidren. He will greet you and stay throughout your stay. Throw a stick and he is your friend forever. When my guests leave, he goes back home and waits for the next guests. My little black dog, Katie, will play with the kids all day if they will throw her a ball. She evens throws it back to the kids. My old lab, Bo, likes to watch!
