    • The stay at the Fern Grotto Inn was very pleasant. The hosts were very nice, and I can't think of a single complaint (except the roosters showing off at 3 am - but that's part of Kauai's charm!). What we really liked: hosts provided "beach" accessories to their guests, nice spacious shower, really decent kitchenette and bed was comfortable. It was a perfect spot for us to stay - close to everything (centrally located), and had everything two active people (who like to hike/swim/climb/kayak/insert whatever else will get you bruised and dirty here) might need during vacation (including washer/dryer available for use - that was a HUGE plus). Overall highly recommended, I know we will be back for more :)

    • My husband and I stayed in the Garden cottage for our honeymoon. We enjoyed out time in the spacious studio cottage. We used the bbq to cook dinner right outside and appreciated being able to borrow and ice chest and beach mats. Thank you for the great hospitatlity.

    • We stayed in the Garden Cottage in early May, 2008, during our first trip to Kauai. We love the outdoors and the Fern Grotto Inn was the perfect home base for all our adventures, from Kokee to Ke'e. We loved the new expansive shower, the comfortable bed, and the peaceful setting. Paul and Nausheen were wonderful hosts and made our visit so easy with late checkout for our 8 pm flight (we actually got to hike, snorkel, shower, go to dinner, then go to the airport!), and the well-accoutered Cottage. They anticipated our needs and provided items to make our visit more enjoyable and convenient (like the beach chairs, bottled water and cooler). We also really appreciated the outdoor hose and shower to rinse our diving and snorkeling gear. To top it all off, Paul helped us get our boarding passes printed for our return flight, relieving some of that last-minute airport stress. It was an indescribable trip, and the Garden Cottage was just what we needed. Thank you!

    • From the moment we walked in the door of the Garden cottage we knew that we wouldn't want to leave. The Fern Grotto Inn is one of the most unique accomodations we have experienced. It was refreshing to stay in a local run place where they understand what their island has to offer and what the guests will need while staying there. Such a pleasure.

    • My husband and I stayed in the garden cottage in march. We were delighted with it. First and very important to us was the fact that it was scrupulously clean The decor was warm and cozy with nice little touches like the shells on the corner shelves. It also was very well stocked with everyday stuff that would have been a pain to have to buy, paper towels, soap, shampoo. We also loved having the beach mats to use.The location was great, halfway between north and south activities. Oh, and how many places can you use the laundry facilities for free? She even supplied the detergents! The next time we come (hopefully soon)maybe we'll bring friends and rent the larger unit.I did a lot of research on accomodations before we went to Kauai and believe me these cottages are priced very reasonably if your looking for a quiet private piece of paradise Mahalo to Paul and Nausheen

Garden cottage It was a lovely kick off to our week with the family. We had a few day of solitude before the family converged and we had to head further north. Sushi at Kintaro was great & the gardens here were very lovely! The cemetary on top of the hill was a sacred place and I'm glad I stumbled on it. Thank you for the hospitality. Mahalo

Garden cottage We had a great time on the "Garden Island" and a lovely stay in the Garden cottage. It was wonderful to hear the surf crashing all night. Earplugs work just fine for the roosters! Thanks for the hospitality and we wish all the best for both of you and those little cutie twins.
