Built in 1771, this beautiful five bedroom antique farmhouse is charmingly furnished, has four working wood-burning fireplaces, a sun-filled breakfast nook and melon-colored sunroom, and original wide plank pumpkin pine floors throughout. The Farm sits on six tranquil acres loaded with blueberries, elderberries, apple trees, and a variety of herbs (it used to be a working organic farm). Sit by the fire or in the sunroom, cook up something with some of the Farm's fresh herbs or fruits, sip a glass of wine, read, write, relax -- or take a drive to see the lovely fall foliage, nearby antique stores, or the great restaurants and art galleries in nearby Peterborough. The Farm is only about an hour and fifteen minutes from downtown Boston, and there are also a variety of outdoor activities nearby (hiking, biking, boating, downhill skiing, cross-country skiing, swimming).
The Farm is truly magical for those who can appreciate its simple pleasures. Come write the Great American Novel here or just get-away from it all -- and for less the cost of a comparable B & B! |
