Our cozy mountain chalet is a retreat from the stresses of life in the city. It is only one hour north of L.A. and easily accessible on Interstate 5. There are four seasons to enjoy in Pine Mountain Club. You can hike, horseback ride, swim in the community pool, golf or just relax in our cozy chalet. Our winters are beautiful with lots of snow and many winter activities. Make sure you check the weather report and have snow chains with you in winter time.
The house is tastefully decorated and lends itself to quiet dinners, listening to music on the satellite channels, lazying on the many floor pillows in the loft or cozying up on the comfortable couch. Enjoy a bit of T.V. on the flatscreen or go out on the deck at night and watch the stars and the milky way.
Wake up to the sound of birds and other little creatures and catch a glimpse of the deer, quail and other critters. Sip your morning coffee on the deck or drink your evening wine under the star-filled night sky. If you put bird seed out on the deck, you will get visits from chipmunks, bluejays and other assorted guests.
The house is shoeless, so leave your footwear outside and let your worries evaporate as the house takes you into its embrace. Turn off your cell phone and go back to nature and the peaceful quiet of our mountain community.
The downstairs guest room can be accessed from the outside or the inside. The inside stairs are steep, so take care in climbing down. Older children are welcomed, but the many stairs and three levels might not be suitable for young children. Bring food to cook and water for cooking and drinking as the tap water is on the hard side. The general store is well stocked, so if you forget something, you can find it there.
Enjoy your stay and be rejuvenated in our wonderful, private and friendly mountain chalet.

Great open layout for family togetherness and fun even while cooking! Well supplied kitchen. Prompt and complete communication with owner. Easy to find. Comfy and cozy with quirky decor. Deer feeding in the yard. Enjoyed the Christmas decorations. Large deck makes a great snow play area without even leaving the yard, for those who don't have warm gear or aren't steady on their feet. Love it so much there that our family (with adult children and their spouses) prefers to pool what we have to spend for gifts on renting the cabin and getting special treats for time away together instead of joining the hustle and bustle of shopping. This is a great bargain for those with limited budgets without sacrificing cleanliness or comfort!Recommended for: Adventure seekers, romantic getaway, girls getaway.

We arrived Christmas eve night and had a hard time locating address on street. During the day the address is big on the street side of home but not lit up. This place is more roomy than the pictures suggest and the price lets you enjoy your vacation. Minimal and clean is what you will find and it's easy to leave the same way. Easy day trips to the forest for hikes and comfort and warmth when you return. Give it a try, you will be pleased.Recommended for: Age 55+, families with teenagers, girls getaway.
Owner response: We usually suggest that to our guests arrive during daylight hours because there are no street lights in Pine Mountain Club. We have motion sensor lighting in front of the house, but it is still best to arrive before night time. The wonderful thing is that you can see the bright stars, the moon and the milky way!

My family, my brother's family and I stayed at this comfortable cabin home over Thanksgiving weekend. There was plenty of room for all of us and it was nice for our adult children to have the private space downstairs. The kitchen was clean and adequate for our needs. It was well stocked with pans and utensils. The wood pellet fire place was very cozy and easy to use (thanks to the great detailed instructions left by the owner). It was also nice to have satellite tv and a dvd player to watch football or movies. The cabin was just as described. At first I thought the no shoes policy was going too far, but it sure made clean up easy! I'm now a no shoe believer! I wish there was a bench or chair at the front door for people to sit on while they take off their shoes. I LOVED the view out the kitchen and bathroom windows. They look straight at the snow covered mountain. I want to come back in the spring to use the beautiful huge deck that sits off the family room! The owner was terrific to work with. She was quick to reply to emails and answer questions. I will definitely come back to this cabin and would recommend it to my friends and family.Recommended for: Age 55+, romantic getaway, families with teenagers, girls getaway.

A great place. Cozy, charming, clean. And all the comforts of home. Beautiful view of the night sky, if you're into stargazing. I brought a 10" aperture telescope and bagged a number of nebulae, galaxies, star clusters, and a comet. Had the best sleep I've had in I-don't-know-how-long in the lovely master bedroom. And it takes only an hour and a half to get there from West LA! Very eager to go back!Recommended for: Adventure seekers, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

What a wonderful time we had in your cabin. The pictures do not do it justice! Plenty of room for our family with 3 teenagers. A true slice of heaven created in PMC. Within one 3-day weekend we visited and LOVED Steve Martin's Wildlife Working Ranch (only 30 mins away and well worth the trip. Be sure to call ahead and plan), hiked, mountain biked (AWESOME single track!), enjoyed the beautiful clean mountain air, star-gazed the clear evening sky and......woke up to SNOW over Memorial day weekend. Pellet Stove came in handy in the evenings when it got cold. What a memorable way to celebrate our 21st wedding anniversary. We would recommend this wonderful cabin to family and friends. Thank you!Recommended for: Adventure seekers, romantic getaway, families with teenagers, girls getaway.

The chalet is wonderful, the location is beautiful, and the owner is just as great - very helpful and attentive. My family and I can't wait to go back - my kids cried because they didn't want to leave! For those looking for an adventure, Mt. Pinos in the Los Padres National Forest is a short drive from the chalet. For those looking to just relax, the location is very quiet and relaxing. Pack up your linens and food and get away from it all in this cozy home. You won't regret it!Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, romantic getaway, families with teenagers, girls getaway, sightseeing.
