My family and I went to this house for a week. We all agreed it was the most relaxing house yet! It doesnt have internet and its in a gorge that is covered in trees with a flowing river right by the side. Its a wonderful place and a place we hope to visit many more times. The owners are very professional and care more about their house than any other owner I have ever worked with. It was a delight all around. Thanks Annette and Mickey!

We had a wonderful time! I usually don't say this, but your home is perfect! There is nothing about that house that isn't custom! We have already discussed a return trip and will certainly plan one.

Thank you for allowing my family and I to use your beautiful home. We absolutely loved it. The kids had so much fun playing outside and walking the trails. The boys caught lots of trout. You had everything so organized and clean. It was so nice. We loved reading about the history of the home too. The family is already wanting to plan another trip this summer. I just can't tell you enough how much we loved it!

As usual, everything at your lodge was fantastic. We caught so many fish we eventually tired of it. Ha Ha The new fly system was a cool touch as well. I stumbled into a pink bellied nymph that was killing it for me so the other guys had to buy similar flies from your stash. You and Mickey are very lucky to own such a property. My friends and I will be back there often.

We had our wedding on the Nantahala this weekend and part of our family stayed at the Nantahala Lodge so we were able to visit. The lodge is absolutely stunning. It is a treasure that the owners share it with others. The whole cabin is roomy and beautifully appointed. The bathrooms have natural stone showers that are just lovely. Two of the bedrooms are quite large suites. The third has adorable bunk beds which would be great for singles or kids. This would be a great place for two couples to share as the master suites are at opposite ends of the Lodge with the "bunk room" between them allowing for plenty of privacy. The kitchen is wonderful, complete with a great bar area. The really neat thing is the history of the place. It was built from reclaimed wood from the family's old cabins and there are family treasures from those properties throughout the lodge along with incredible wood and stonework. The wrap-around porch overlooks the Nantahala and is fantastic! One could sit out there all day and evening enjoying the sights and sounds of the river. Our uncle did some trout fishing right outside the lodge door! The owners are truly interested in making sure you have a wonderful stay. I'd also point out that the security deposit is completely reasonable given the high-end nature of the Lodge and the owners refund the deposit promptly when the property is left in good condition. If you want to treat yourself to an amazing experience, the Nantahala Lodge is the right place!

Wow! I have never stayed at such an amazing cabin. The location could not have been better since it was literally a riverfront paradise. The cabin easily housed my party of eight without being cramped whatsoever. Everything from the large kitchen and dining room to the three full bathrooms, completely fulfilled our needs. The house was superbly designed and constructed and we really appreciated reading about the reclaimed materials used to build the cabin. The cabin's location was ideal. We visited Wayah Bald Tower, hiked to the falls, and finished our day at Cafe Rel in Franklin. The next day we went White Water Rafting at the Nantahala Outdoor Center, and I do not remember the last time we had such a fun day. We ate a great dinner at the Nantahala River Restaurant on an outdoor patio over looking the Nantahala River. We can't wait to try the new Zip-line Adventure park when it opens in a couple of weeks! The next day we rented a pontoon boat and spent the day on the Nantahala Lake, and had the "Spaghetti Ice Cream" at Wayah Bald Cafe. We finished our stay with lazy days of fishing in the river from the front yard of the cabin, sipping wine on the front porch, and sitting by the campfire eating smores. Next time, we hope to use the discount vouchers provided by the owner, and visit Biltmore House in Asheville, NC. We could not have had a more perfect stay! We really appreciated all of the little things like: fresh coffee, soap, bug repellent, first aid supplies, flashlights, plenty of clean linens, firewood, hammock, and a wooden swing. Literally, all we had to bring was clothes and food and we were set. I have already booked my next stay in the fall and I am so excited to see the leaves change colors. Thanks for an amazing vacation!

We had a meaningful time together at the Nantahala River Lodge. So many places were just a natural setting to sit and talk, so bless you for the planning of your land. Your home away from home was comfortable and peaceful. The boys did not make it to the A.T. Once they roamed the Lodge and area they decided they needed some down time with a lot of lazy hours. While the girls played and floated in the water the guys did a bit of fly fishing. We gals enjoyed the chairs with a glass of sweet tea watching the girls turn into ice blocks. The guys did get a bit better at that fly fishing! We loved reading about the past history and look forward to learning more about the struggles it must have taken to build such a beautiful place.

My friends and I had a wonderful time in your Lodge. It is not often that an experience is better than one expected, but this was one of those rare times. Your property is a treasure, and the care you have put into it shows. As I examine the grounds, I am struck by the sheer volume of work and vision that it has taken to make this place what it is. The structure is a master stroke of design and relationship between the land, the river and the people lucky enough to be staying there.

You have built an amazing place. I have a real appreciation for the architecture and the attention to detail that the two of you have put into your home. One evening we were sitting on the deck, just looking at the rocks lining the path and we talked about how much time it must have taken to do just that, then there are the wood ceilings, stone work, furniture, etc. It's a great place and we sincerely appreciate you sharing it with us. We, along our kids, have a lot of great memories from our first trip to Nantahala River Lodge and we hope to stay there again soon.

We had a wonderful weekend. Your house is beautiful and we so enjoyed it and the grounds. Our kids favorite part was mining for gold in the river. They also enjoyed playing horse shoes, manning the campfire, cooking grilled cheese sandwiches over the fire and roasting marshmallows. I enjoyed getting away from our routine and even read a book in two days. We definitely plan to go back and the kids have voted to go when the weather is warm enough to play in the water. Please let your housekeeper know how much we appreciate her hard work as it was so nice to walk into the fresh, clean house after a long drive.

Thank you so much for letting us stay in your cabin this past weekend. It is such a wonderful place with an amazing story to go along with it. We rent cabins and condos frequently and your place is without question the nicest place we have ever rented. Your attention to detail and thoughtfulness made us feel very comfortable. I certainly hope your cabin is available on our next visit to the Nantahala River.

My husband and I reallly enjoyed our stay at the lodge. The facility was beautiful, very comfortable, and had everything we could possibly have wanted. It met our expectations and then some. The location is great, with an easy drive to more places than we could visit in our time there. We enjoyed excellent day trips, and even went white water rafting - what fun. Our dogs loved the area, and their favorite stop at The Burger Basket - great burgers for people and dogs. We all slept like rocks to the sound of the river going by, and are already talking about coming back sometime soon. Thanks for sharing your lovely place with us.

Well, here we are back in hot, humid Gainesville longing so for the wonderful, cool river breeze from the Nantahala, rocking peacefully on the deck enjoying every wonder, small and large, that your River Lodge has to offer. Needless to say, we all had the time of our lives!!!! I honestly could go on and on about your Lodge - words though, simply cannot express what the Lodge has to offer. It is comfort with class and class with comfort! I just hate that we did not have more time. Without a doubt, one day, and I hope soon, we will be back! Just one last thing about the "awesomeness" of your Lodge. As we were opening windows in the master bedroom, my husband said "five hundred" and I replied, 'what do you mean five hundred?", "this is number five hundred of the cool things that I have seen in this cabin. Need I say more? Our 16 year old, had the "best vacation ever"! You hospitality is immeasurable! Your dream has been met - what you have is a place where nature, peace, beauty, comfort and family have all come together, and we were so fortunate to be a part of it!

I have been using VRBO since 2005 at least 4-5 times a year. I never stay in a hotel any more. We spent Spring Break at this property. Everything is perfect-- well maintained, beautifully built, perfect location-- this one has it all! The pictures do not do this home justice. Annette and Mickey are wonderful to deal with and have thought of everything to make your stay as perfect as possible. They have labeled every light switch and cabinet-- doesn't seem like a big deal until you are trying to find something. We relaxed, caught lots of fish and had a sublime experience. Top notch appliances, beautifully appointed baths, and comfortable beds is just the beginning. We will be back-- many, many times!
