this place is amazing!!!!! i thought i died and went to heaven. the decor, the view of the mountains, the great room was everything that we expected. i actually think the photos don't do it justice. it was immaculate and very cozy. there was a shopping mall less than 10 minutes away w/numerous stores. we visited garden of the gods which was breathtaking and less than an hour from our place. thank you again for a wonderful trip. the owner was amazingly helpful w/questions regarding airport distance, attractions. a great place!!!!!!!

Diane and her husband have a beautiful house in an amazing location!! The view was spectacular! The house has everything you need for a relaxing vacation and more. If you're in the mood for steak, go to Dukes just down the road. Great food and great prices. Thank you Diane for letting us stay at your fantastic house.

Beautiful home, central location south of Denver

This place is awesome! My husband and I stayed here for 2 weeks and were very comfortable; we felt like we were "coming home" after a day of sightseeing or golfing. The view from the deck overlooking the 16th tee box of The Ridge at Castle Pines North golf course, the valley, Pike's Peak is beautiful. We did play golf at The Ridge - it is a beautiful course and both 9's play differently. The front 9 is set up as a links course and the back 9 plays through the forest. We were able to get the resident rate which was significantly less expensive than what the rack rate is. We would highly recommend eating at their restaurant - this is not your typical golf course food. This home is centrally located to I-25, C-470 (toll free road), E-470 (toll road), and the light rail into downtown. If you are going into downtown consider using the light rail to avoid traffic and parking headaches; fares are reasonable and the train is clean. Check Denver light rail website for information. There is a lot to see and do in metro Denver so get your walking shoes on and have fun! We have stayed in many VRBO homes - this is the nicest one yet. Glenn and Diane are friendly, easy going people who are wonderful to work with. Stay here, you won't be disappointed! Thank you Glenn and Diane for sharing your beautiful home with us.

When we arrived we all were so amazed at how beautiful the house was! The pictures really don't do it justice. The attention to detail was amazing and everything you could want was in the house. The house is close to the attractions but in a quiet cul-de-sac with a view that is incredible! It was definitely the most beautiful rental that we have stayed in! Thanks for a beautiful vacation.

Family vacation

My family and I had high expectations for this property when we booked it for our summer vacation. As it turns out, the pictures barely do the home justice. The home is extraordinary! As soon as we walked in the door we were blown away. The amenities and location are spectacular. Located on the top of a hill at the end of a very quiet cul-de-sac. Near everything without feeling like you're in the middle of anything. The owners are very helpful and made us feel very welcome in their home. We are a family of five with children ages 12, 9 and 5. They started asking when we could come back before the week was even over. I would highly recommend this home to anyone and look forward to returning soon.

Gorgeous House

Beautiful house with spectacular views!! Enjoyed renting this house for the week of USAFA graduation. About a 40 min drive to the graduation activities but worth it considering the Colorado Springs area is VERY busy with traffic during the weeklong graduation events. Will probably try to rent this house again for our daughters AF graduation in 2013!

Elegant Comfort

We found the Home-Away site while looking at hotels in the Castle Rock, CO area. We needed lodgings for a week in April 2010 while we looked for a home of our own to relocate to. From the start, Diane Goldie, the owner, was gracious and very responsive. We originally thought renting her home was a good deal as the price was fairly comparable to a 7 - night hotel stay including 3 meals eaten out. We were traveling with our 12 yr old son and I was not looking forward to 3 of us being cramped in a hotel room for a week. We found the home easily and were immediately impressed by the location and the curb appear. It was obvious we were getting much more than we expected - from the natural landscaping and rock formations to the intricately detailed, carved front door. My first impression upon entering the home was of understated elegance. The open floor plan and many large windows keep the living space bright and airy, the high quality furniture provided comfort, and the unique touches, such as the tree trunk coffee table and the stone fireplace, were just enough to be interesting without overwhelming the rooms. We felt like we definately in 5-star (or better) hotel. We found the house to be immaculately clean and the towels and linens were fresh. The spacious bedrooms were extremely comfortable and even though we were only 3, it offers plenty of sleeping space for 6 or more. This home has everything you can think of that you might need or want when on vacation - from the ice make at the wet bar, to the hot tub, the steam showers, plenty of cookware and dishes, etc... We were lucky enough to find a home in Castle Rock and will most assuredly recommend This home as the best place to stay for family and friends who come to visit. Like us, I am sure they will get much more than expected and come away with great memories of a fabulous vacation home.

My family stayed in this home for Thanksgiving week in 2009. We were skeptical of whether or not the pictures made the home look better than it was and boy were we relieved. The home is spectacular and some of us spent the week trying to figure out how to purchase it from the owner. There is so much attention to detail in this home. The rooms are spacious, beds comfortable, and the views are incredible. We watched deer walk by within 15 yards an several occasions. It was paradise. We wound up cooking an enormous Thanksgiving dinner in the enormous kitchen and there was plenty of room for everyone to sit down comfortably and eat. The home is also right off the main interstate so traveling to the airport, downtown Denver, etc is quick and easy. This is a home that I will rent out every time I am in the Denver area.

This is the place to stay, enjoy and spend time in when visiting Denver and Colorado Springs

Mid September 2010. Three couples rented what we all consider to be one of the nicest places we have ever stayed in. When you rent a house online, if you are the person(s) responsible for finding the listing you always worry that it will not be what was represented. After staying in this beautiful location for one week, we came to realize that the house in Castle Pines was more, much more, than what we viewed online. When we travel we usually eat almost all of our meals while on the road, even when renting a house. This was such a great home that we ate all of our breakfasts and a number of our dinners "at home" for it was such a great place to be. Either eating or sitting on the deck or at the kitchen area table looking out the window the views and setting sure made the meals really enjoyable. The location, on a hillside, nestled in the trees and the rocks, with a view South to Pikes Peak and Colorado Springs was perfect. Although close to other homes, you did not notice them. Also only a few minutes from shopping and restaurants. We were, 3 couples and the bedrooms and all the facilities were great. If you should have a fourth couple, the attached mother in law apartment is also available. They do not rent the attached apartment out to other groups when the main house is occupied. The owners were great to deal with and if we are in the area again, we hope that the house is available.

Best rent home ever!

Going back for a third time in 2010! Wonderful home on a hill top in a first class subdivision with unobstructed views of the mountains and even Pikes Peak on a clear day. Just as quiet as advertised yet close enough to upscale shopping and restaurants. Great base of operations to explore all that Colorado has to offer without being in the middle of nowhere or in the middle of town. Master bed is down with two up + a Game/TV room. Wonderful kitchen with HUGE granite island for cooking & entertaining. Detailed description: Located at the end of a cul-de-sac on the top of a rocky pinnacle. Small grass front yard but gorgeous grounds with big trees & rock outcrops. Driveway IS steep but you have access to a full two car garage. As you enter the hand carved front door, the slate entry gives way to the great room with the a large dinning room to your right and the stairs to the left. Hardwood floors throughout the first floor and a large two level deck out the back sliding door. The ground drops away fast out back so nothing blocks the view and there's a huge open space between the house and the others down below. The large Master is down the hall to the left just past the slate utility room (complete with everything you need). The bedroom has super high beamed ceilings, wonderful tile bath with six shower heads & double sinks + huge closet. Upstairs are two nice bedroom that share a bath but there's also a half bath in the upstairs hall. There are TV's in both the great room and the upstairs game room. There is also a fully equiped one bedroom apartment attached to the house over the garage. It's never rented out at the same time as the house unless you wanted it for even more space! The only downside is that I can't afford to live here all year!

Perfect home and location!

This is home is simply beautiful and was the perfect location for our stay in the Denver area. Our adult children were able to join us and the home accommodated everyone easily. Porch dinners, soaks in the hot tub under the stars and meals facing the magnificent views all went into making our stay in Castle Rock delightful. I often had to take someone to the airport and the close proximity to C470 and I25 made the trip easy. The owners were exceptional and we now considers them friends. We would return in a heartbeat and plan to in the near future.
