We stayed 5 nights in Christina and Isaac's studio apartment during October 2011. The location is excellent - close to many coffee shops, great eateries, East village boutiques, Union Square and Met lines and the street is fairly quiet (for NY) with no through buses or noisy bars etc. The apartment was on the ground floor and very clean and comfortable with a computer for our use. Christina and Isaac were most friendly and helpful.
Owner response:Thanks, Marylou for the review! Just need to clarify one thing: this apartment is not on the ground floor, it is on floor above, on the 1st floor (or apartment is actually located below it, on the ground floor).

As NYU freshman parents and newbies to the city, we weren't quite sure where to stay. Having had luck with VRBO before we found this amazing studio in the East Village. Christina and Isaac are wonderful hosts! The personalized guide to the East Village written by Christina and Isaac was our food bible during our stay and showed us how much they love the area and sharing their favorite places with those of us lucky enough to stay with them. They were also extremely accommodating both on the front and back ends of our trip allowing us to enjoy the city that much longer. What a wonderful family to stay with! We'll be back!

This was my second visit to the fantastic studio in the East Village. Seriously, you need to stay in this place every single time you come to New York. Christina and Isaac are the best hosts EVER, and you need to visit frequently to watch J's growth. She's beautiful and smart, the apt is beautiful, the n-hood is perfect, and it's hard to go home after such a wonderful stay. If I had a trust fund and unlimited time, I would move in. You will not, WILL NOT, find a better place to stay in the city that provides comfortable lodging, a real kitchen with a coffee maker and DELICIOUS BEANS, and a perfect bathroom! Clean, comfy, roomy and beautiful. I am so grateful that I found this place!

What a great spot! Central to everything. The perfect way to 'live like a New Yorker' for a short stay. Nice neighbourhood and the apartment is just the right size; even for the 3 of us. 4 might be tight with competition for the bathroom. Super comfy bed and the option of a futon is always a nice surprise compared to the typical hide-a-beds you find; which are never a good sleep. I would definitely stay there again!

I cannot recommend this apartment highly enough, it truly exceeded our expectations. It is perfectly located to the most central subway stations making it so, so easy to get around Manhattan. The East Village and the Lower East Side has in my opinion the best shops, restaurants and the best vibe of any city I have ever visited. Staying in Christina and Isaac’s apartment makes you feel like you truly belong and are a real ‘New Yorker’! The apartment is clean, cozy and has everything you could ever need. It was fabulous to have the internet connected, it made things even easier.. when you visit make sure you take time to stroll around the wonderful streets of the East Village. Danielle & Michael :-)

Having never used VRBO before, we had the most pleasant experience. The trip to NYC was with my two sisters and mother. A girls weekend. Communication prior to our arrival was great! Not visiting the area often, we were given numerous ideas and suggestions from bike rental, bus tours, theater shows to cafes and shopping areas. The apartment was perfect! Christina held to her word and met us upon a very late arrival our first night. Thank you! The keys were handed over and the recommendations for places to get a bit to eat, even at 1am, were given! The Smith, right around the corner... too quaint to miss! The location is so accessible to numerous forms of public transportation. WE LOVED IT! Have recommended it to our friends, and will book it our next visit! It made our girls weekend away a very special one! Thanks so much. I highly recommend it! Sleeps four easily/comfortably!

Christina, Isaac and Jade...what can I say? We had such a fabulous time visiting NYC and staying in your beautiful studio. We felt right at home and you were so welcoming. I've stayed near Times Square on a previous trip, but loved the East Village and how much it had to offer. We felt like real New Yorkers. Thanks again for your hospitality and we hope to visit again.

I have rented apartments through VRBO for two years now in cities all over the world, but without a doubt, this was the best experience yet. Christina and Isaac are consummate hosts whose thoughtfulness was evident from my initial rental inquiry all the way to my (reluctant – I wish I could have extended my vacation!) departure. From the beginning, email communications were incredibly friendly and helpful, and their greeting upon arrival at the apartment was warm and inviting. As for the apartment itself, it is beautifully decorated and immaculately clean. Christina and Isaac have obviously put much thought into all the details to make the space truly feel like a “home-away-from-home”. They have gone above and beyond to meet every possible traveler need (including providing a computer with internet connection – indeed, a rarity for rental apartments!!), and their hospitality and desire to ensure that your stay is perfect feels genuine. The apartment is centrally located in the East Village within close walking distance to more than one subway stop (one being Union Square). This fabulous area is a food-lover’s paradise, and Christina and Isaac are enthusiastic to recommend their favourite neighbourhood places (although doing some independent internet research before arriving will already reveal that many of NYC’s best eats are within walking distance to their apartment!). Needless to say, I wholeheartedly recommend staying in this absolutely perfect studio to anyone visiting NYC, and I truly hope to be able to stay here again the next time I’m in town! Thank you for being such fantastic hosts, Christina and Isaac, and for making our stay in NYC a wonderful one!

My son & I stayed here in February 2008 on a trip to visit the NYU campus. This apartment was perfect for us, and for our purposes. It was comfortable, clean & well supplied, as well as close to everything we wanted to see. Christina & Isaac made us feel at home, and they were very helpful to us out-of-towners! Also, I thank them for their flexibility, as both of our flight times were late in the day. I would recommend this VRBO to anybody, young and / or old. If given the chance to return to NY, we'd definately stay here again, if available! We loved it!

This apartment was perfect! It was spacious, well-equiped, comfortable and in a great location! Christina and Isaac were very welcoming and so helpful with recommending restaurants and other things to do in New York. It made my stay in New York that much better! I am so glad I stayed here rather than a hotel as I got a taste of what it is like to be a 'real' New Yorker! I would absolutely stay here again if I go back to New York.

This is a fantastic apartment and a fantastic neighborhood. I have had such a fun time here; it's been so much more comfortable than staying in a hotel. Christina and Isaac are very gracious hosts, have made me feel at home and have provided lots of good recommendations on restaurants and such! Thanks again to both of them. If you're coming to NY, you should absolutely stay here!
