Spent a wonderful week at Sugar Bay House with it's amazing views. This house has it all - each bedroom is en suite and has a private entrance onto the pool courtyard. The great room is spectacular with floor to ceiling windows overlooking Salt River and connects to a pub room called "Harry's Bar"! You could spend your whole vacation lounging by the beautiful pool but there is so much to do on St Croix! We generally ate lunch out ( don't miss Rhythms on Rainbow Beach or Eats on Cane Bay) and cooked dinner in the well stocked kitchen and outdoor grill. The outdoor dinning pavillion has that amazing view!! Dinner out included a romantic evening at "Waves" and a fun evening right up the road at "Rowdy Joe's." Be sure to try the ATV trip thru the Rain Forest! The house has AC but we never needed it as there was always a light breeze. We would go back in a heartbeat!

We recently were able to enjoy two fabulous weeks at the Sugar Bay House on St Croix. It was our fourth trip to the island and by far the best, with this beautiful villa having much to do with our enjoyment. It is perfectly set up for a vacation rental - large common great room, private bedrooms (and baths) overlooking the huge pool and pool deck. The outdoor spaces are incredible, highlighted by the outdoor beds which look great in the pictures, but are unbelievably more comfortable in person! The great room has floor to ceiling windows overlooking the Salt River facing East for incredible sunrises. There are so many choices for vacation villas, and while looking around at them all is fun when planning, we hope to return to the Sugar Bay House year after year!

St. Croix is a heaven on earth and Sugar Bay House is your home in that heaven. Its calm and quiet with your own pool to relax. It is on a cliff and the ocean views from the patio, kitchen and the big family room are simply spectacular. We travelled with our two girls 9 and 11 year olds and they loved to be in the pool all the time. The beaches in St. Croix are delightful and private. There are a lot of things to do for people with a flare for water adventures and still for people like us who are not so adventurous, its extremely relaxing. Its worth every penny if you want to get away from the routine hussle-bussle of any other tourist place.

I could not believe my eyes when I opened the front door. The property and view were outstanding, and the accommodations clean, comfortable and spacious. The pool was clean and an absolute delight. The house was a perfect vacation spot - we spent the day poolside, ventured out here and there and then back to relaxing. I could not stop taking photos of the house and the view. I did not want to forget a single wonderful moment of the trip, the island and our paradise home away from home.

Everything about our visit to Sugar Bay House was exceptional! The house is stunning and leaves you wanting for nothing. No description could do the view justice -- not even the spectacular photos that are posted. We enjoyed all the island had to offer, but couldn't stand to be away from the house for more than a few hours at a time -- it was just too wonderful to leave. I never thought I would want to cook so much on a vacation! Each bedroom has its own entrance which opens to the pool. It is truly like having your own private hotel. The kitchen had everything you would need, including a wet bar overlooking the pool and patio. Plus the outdoor grilling area was terrific. The pool was pure paradise and the lounge furniture was tops. Despite all we did, I still read 4 books while we were there. The great room had the most delicious breeze and was great for late night movie watching. For activities, we visited the island's gorgeous beaches and shopped in downtown Christianstead. We took a boat ride out to Buck Island for the MOST amazing snorkeling, we walked down to the marina and took a fun and educational guided kayak tour of the Salt River, and we visited the rain forest and Norma's famous beer-drinking pigs. (really!) We found some great restaurants, including Rum Runners and Angry Nates. Twice we walked down to the marina and ate there -- the conch chowder was delish. This was an ideal vacation and I don't think I would visit St. Croix again without staying at Sugar Bay House. I cannot wait to go back!

Fabulous Caribbean Island Getaway Villa

We visited SBH for 9 days (April-May '09) and just had the most fantastic time! The house is superb with unbelievable views! The pictures do not do it justice. The home is extremely comfortable and clean. The furnishings are top notch and it is centrally located if you do decide to leave, but trust me, the home is so nice you will enjoy just relaxing by the pool and taking in the views. There are many beaches to discover if you do decide to venture out. You would be hard pressed to find a better villa and our group (4 couples) couldn't want for a finer villa!

The Perfect St. Croix Destination

Our group of 6 have vacationed at Sugar Bay House in St. Croix for one week on two occasions. The property is not directly on the beach but the home is perched on a hillside with the beach and water a short distance away. The views of the water from the veranda and the living room are spectacular. One of the things our group likes best about Sugar Bay House is the great poolside and furnishings. The owners did not skimp when picking the furniture as you have many great options for dining and lounging around the pool. Very comfortable!! The caretaker Pete, who lives in an apt. below is also a plus. He is very friendly and welcoming and a comfort when something unexpected happens such as a "brown out on the island". Pete springs into action starting the generator before you even had a chance to recognize the power had gone out. But Pete allows for privacy which was one of our original concerns. That concern was alleviated after our first stay. I would definitely recommend this home as it is one of our favorites. The owners are easy to work with and have taken pride in keeping the house in good condition and clean, which is very important to our group. I don't think you would be disappointed if you chose Sugar Bay House. We enjoy the home so much we never want to leave. By they way, there is a great sitting area on the east side of the veranda in which you can sit and watch the sunrise or "check out" for hours as you watch the birds and feel the ocean breezes. We call it "contemplation point" and there is no place more serene and peaceful. Just pull up a bar stool or lounge chair and relax! Kim

We Just got back from our second stay at the Sugar Bay house. We had a great time. The house is beautiful and the views are spectacular. This is one of the most beautiful places I have ever stayed at. We had a great time relaxing pool side and did some fun activities on the island. I would recommend this trip to anyone. I can't wait to go back

Exquisite Views & Peaceful Atmosphere

The house was gorgeous with many amenities. The views were great from every angle of the home, even while showering!!! The home's style was West Indies and had a great over all look. No penny was spared to decorate. The rooms were very private or could be a airy as you wanted them to be. The beds were extremely comfortable and clean. We had a good night sleep while we were there. Use the guides and books set up for the novice islander, they were extremely helpful and helped us tremendously planning our days activities. Can't say a bad word about the place!!! We enjoyed our getaway and would do a return visit!!

You have to see it to believe it! Once you enter the doors of this beautiful home, nothing else can compare. The views from this house are breathtaking; the house has everything you can imagine and the weather was perfect! While we enjoyed our accommodations, we also got to snorkel and visit Buck Island which has an amazing beach! It was perfect for our couples get-away.

This will be our third trip to the Sugar Bay House in St. Croix. It is such a wonderful place! It is in the perfect location. Each trip we went with three other couples. Our first time there, we didn't want to leave the house. It is so private and the scenery around the house is gorgeous. The house has everything that you could want to enjoy a relaxing vacation. The second time, we spent more time around the island. The island has some beautiful beaches and the food was excellent! This trip we will be spending half our time relaxing and half our time enjoying the island! This vacation can’t come soon enough.

Very private but convenient. Unbelieveable views! Each room is it's own private suite and the Master is extraordiary. Beautifully decorated. Fantastic fully equipped kitchen if you are not enjoying all of the wonderful restaurants on the island! Great dinning areas inside and out with spectacular scenery. You can lounge around the beautiful court yard pool or explore the island and its many activities - diving, snorkling, swimming,sailing,shopping, dinning, kayaking or hiking through the rain forest!! Fantastic for romantic retreat or family reunion!!!

Upscale, private and great for families

We went to the Sugar Bay House in November and enjoyed beautiful weather, great meals every night on the veranda and gorgeous sunrises every morning. Peter, the caretaker, makes it all very easy. The rooms are extremely private and have their own A/C units which made sleeping (or napping) a truly relaxing experience. We came back from St. Croix relaxed and happy. We would highly recommend this house for families or for a group that wants to get a away and celebrate. Great spaces throughout the common areas for gathering.

Sugar Bay House -- A Sweet Retreat!!

My husband and I have had the extreme good fortune to have been guests at Sugar Bay House several times over the last few years. We have traveled extensively in the Caribbean, so we know what to look for in a tropical vacation destination, and Sugar Bay House has it all. Most recently we attended a magnificent week-long birthday celebration there, the highlight of which was a fabulous dinner and dancing party overlooking the spectacularly beautiful ocean and bay. The house itself is beautifully appointed, impeccably maintained and immaculate, as well as being extremely comfortable and inviting. We have and will continue to recommend Sugar Bay House to all our friends and to anyone wishing to have a wonderful Caribbean vacation, large group or small, young or old, Sugar Bay House can't be beat.

If you want to totally relax with friends or family this is the place. The views really are magnificient. The house is very tastefully decorated and comfortable. The outdoor deck is great and Harry's Bar is definitely the place to enjoy a pre dinner or after dinner drink. Pete, the on site property manager is also superb. St Croix is also a hidden gem. Lots to do. Great restaurants and uncrowded beaches. A truly great place to have a vacation!
